Friendly URL

Does anyone know if the websites of the centre has option to a friendly url? noticed that when installing Center web sites there is an option to install a nice url, but I can't seem to find something that reflects this option when you use the CMS?

If it is a sort of miss-understanding on my part, and the only option we have is the plug GSF (I've not used before). Anyone know where I can find instructions step by step on how to install this for websites of the centre?

Step by step instructions on below will not work because all the links to download scripts, etc. are all broken.

http://www.Docstoc.com/docs/100679175/GSF-developers-guide-11

For the FMA, take a look here: http://www.gst-foundation.org/ (there is even a video of the procedure for the installation).

In my view, there is "URLAssemblers", which provide the vanity and SEO friendly URLs... I personally do not know if this is the approach should be taken or if there is something OOTB however (I'm still learning myself).

See you soon

I run an online meeting using Adobe connect and want to create a friendly URL for example: companyname.adobeconnect.com/meetingtitle instead of all the numbers and letters! How can I do this? Is this possible?

The option for the custom URL is available in the first stage of the meeting Wizard (Variant 2). Once the meeting room is created the URL CANNOT be change, and a new room must be created to have a different URL.

  • Tests for now a local link in a friendly URL

I have a friendly url like this:
    Ilam-Ferre-COE#cF3117E44-D618-19D6-0DE84586EF454DD6 http://127.0.0.1/petitions/client/index.cfm/2006/8/18/ex-Navi-proiecit-atque-in-Hostes-AQU
    who doesn't have a cgi.query_string.

How to test the presence of the link identified with "#c"?

A kind soul can you please enlighten us because I am at the end of my intelligence.

Nope. Anchor points are not intended to be manipulated, followed, or processed by the server somehow. Their goal is to tell the browser where to go to a page.

I can't find the CGI variables which allows you to get the anchor point. Not even the access logs server list anchor.

  • Problem using friendly URLS SE

Someone at - he had problems using the URL search engine friendly and css? I have a page which seems fine when I go to the page with the following url: http://localhost/demo/index.cfm. However if I change the url to http://localhost/demo/index.cfm/about-our-company the page behaves as if the css style sheet is not found. I'm totally clueless as to what could be the cause. Someone has an idea? I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you

    Jason

Must have been some kind of problem with cache bug or something. I put all css links and all links to the absolute image links ( http://localhost/demo/styles/style.css). After coming back to it starts to work. don't understand, but the url can be a/search-engine-friendly-parameter after it and the page appears correctly.

Thanks to Stressed_Simon and Ray Camden for pointing me in the right direction!

  • Oracle UCM with Site Studio - friendly URLs

    Hello

Sorry if this has been answered before...

    Scenario:

Oracle UCM 11 g with a Public website created by the Studio Site. NO proxy http in front of this thing.

The 'real' URL to access a particular section...

    http://www.Server.com/sitename/ThingsToDo/LibraryServices/index.htm

To reach desired URL in the same place...

    http://www.Server.com/library/index.htm

Basically, I want to get rid of/SiteName/ThingsToDo/LibrararyServices and replace by only / library

I think I'd be able to do if the site was hosted behind IIS or was an Oracle HTTP Server infront. In its current form the site AAU runs in Weblogic 11 g. Is there a way to reach the actual URL rewritten using Weblogic or UCM?

Please let me know. Thank you!

    JDM

    It would be:

    library/index.htm => ? IdcService = SS_GET_PAGE & nodeId = 12345

1235 designating the real nodeId of your node/section http://www.server.com/SiteName/ThingsToDo/LibraryServices/index.htm

Good luck and please award points as you wish.

  • CNAME or friendly DNS name for your Digital Media Manager

    Hello

The problem we are trying to solve is how to announce a friendly URL for our Digital Media Manager device.

We put our host name for something.its.deakin.edu.au, and the web interface of the device is accessible from

    https://something.its.Deakin.edu.au:8443

    We run DMM 5.2.2

I would like to put something in place so that it is accessible from:

    http://digitalsignage.Deakin.edu.au

I don't think it's possible through ports in use on the device. Go to port 80 via

    http://something.its.Deakin.edu.au

    results in a blank page.

We have a Cisco content switching Module too

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/modules/ps2706/ps780/index.html

but because the device seems to redirect SSL strength that would be problematic.

Are there other solutions out there?

    Long story short, I want that my internal clients to access the plug;

    http://digitalsignage.Deakin.edu.au

    without having to

1 Add the address https in the URL (although I can live with this if necessary)

    2. without having to add the port to the end (8443 or 8080).

    How to make this happen?

Any advice or suggestions are much appreciated,

    Kind regards

    Kathy

    Hi Kathy,

You can get this behavior with a similar configuration in your SCM below:

    Serverfarm DARRONDO

    NAT server

    no client nat

    Redirect-vserver REDIRECT1

    WebHost relocation https://cdn-dmm-3.cisco.com:8443 301

    172.21.30.21 virtual www tcp

    development

    Vserver DARRONDO

    172.21.30.22 virtual www tcp

    Serverfarm DARRONDO

    rebalancing of the persistent

    development

In this case, requests made to vserver 172.21.30.22 on port 80 will be redirected to https://cdn-dmm-3.cisco.com:8443. To make it more usable, you can have two entries DNS, one for the vserver and the other for the DMM himself.

    I hope this helps

  • URL to connect to the server and DMZ security server

How everyone puts in place the URL to their connection and security servers?

I would like to set up a friendly URL for users and technical staff do not forget to connect to the infrastructure of the view, but I have to have 2 separate URLs for the network internal and external WAN connections?

A few weird DNS environments here too... so I would be useful to have detailed answers, parts of my LAN use external DNS and some parts use internal DNS... and it is out of my control to change this configuration.  Thank you.

I've done that to add a manual in my internal to resolve DNS extries say view.abc.com to the internal IP address. then on my hosted public DNS, I would resolve external public IP address view.abc.com.

  • The homepage URL without "/ index.html".

Is it possible to change the URL of the homepage of a site Web de MUSE "/index.html/index.html" does not appear after the ".com"?

I fear that Google will interpret our homepage as a double page.

Thanks for your help in advance!

With respect to obtaining the friendly URLS, there are several ways aside for this server. Most of the Web servers are Apache, and if you're brave, you can read about .htaccess files to make redirects for more friendly URLs. They are complicated and not for the coding of the heart, so be careful. Note, however, that the URL created by Muse can take advantage of these friendly URLS automatically, and links would need to be directed to the right place through hyperlinks drop-down manually.

However, let's talk about the fear of the root here: SEO. Seen index.html links does not know to have a negative impact on the SEO of your site. There is no official source of Google or Microsoft on the topic that indicates something solid on the subject. Both have information about duplicate content, and Google approaches more effectively do a comment saying that the links are compatible. When you use the page of Muse linking features, we will display all of the links to be consistent throughout your site and as such, comply with Google's SEO guidelines on this subject.

Regarding duplicate content, name of the index.html file is a special file for Web sites and Web servers name and is the name of the default page on most of the servers. Servers with server-side languages and other configurations like the one I mentioned above can have different names, but it is by far the most common. Without additional configuration, your server will serve the two index.html and / as the same page, regardless of weather or not it is a site of Muse. Google and Bing, according to our experience, are smart enough to merge the two files without any problems, but the proof is in the pudding, as they say. There is a simple test that you can use to check and make sure they do the right thing. If you want to check that there are no duplicate in the search results, go to Google or Bing and search for "site:http://www.mydomain.com House ' without the quotes. Just replace your domain in there name and search for the title of your home page and you should see your listed home page. In each Muse site I checked (just those random shape by pulling the site of the day) it was only 1 ad for the home page, indicating that there was no likelihood of confusion by search engines. If you want to specify or to check things out more, you can always use Google WebMaster Tools to take additional measures inform Google of your site.

We care about the SEO of your sites and do our best to ensure that things that we can do it automatically, we try to cover for you. We are always making improvements in all areas of our code, and this is one area in particular, we know that you are passionate. Unfortunately, the area of SEO has lots of misinformation, misunderstandings and unknown that spread very quickly and will pass without a real understanding. In addition to doing our best to comply with the best practices of SEO, we also try to make sure that we're not fill your sites with cheap false remedies and tips that don't quite work. When we look at the new features, we think of their impact on your sites, SEO, and what we can do to improve your and your site visitor Web experience. For example, when we have added mobile and Tablet layouts, we've also added canonical and substitute meta tags to your pages so that search engines know duplicate content and also knew where and when redirect users. And new stuff is coming, we will continue to do our best to have the same amount of due diligence ensuring a rank as high as possible for your research. And we will continue to look at areas where we could use improvement and do our best to make them whenever we can.

If all goes well, which clears some things.

  • Recoding of the URL

I discovered that when a robot goes to my site, atg Monte URL as /jump/ *. I wish that all my requests have been interpreted in this way. Is this possible?

I found the solution. Open the file C:\ATG\ATG10.0.3\CommerceReferenceStore\Store\EStore\config\atg\repository\seo\CategoryIndirectTemplate.properties and comment out this code snippet

  • Problem with the easy search engine url

I want that search engines to scan some of my pages that can currently will be achieved only with variables in the url, for example www.mydomain.com/home.cfm?m=fred. So I changed that link to the www.mydomain.com/home.cfm/fred (call this "google-friendly url"). On home.cfm, I check the value of cgi. PATH_INFO, and if it is not null, I analyze the characters after the last slash to get the value of my variable "m" (in this case, "fred").

The strange thing is that when I navigate the explorable url by google, my stylesheet is ignored and none of my styles are applied. When I use Firebug to look at the html code and css, I see this when inspecting any < div > tag:

My global.css file is in the same folder (wwwroot) as home.cfm. Can someone tell me what is happening? Thank you.

Wild eyed guess here, but you may need to use full url paths for your
stylesheets and java scripts with this diet.

The idea being that, as long as you reference currently a relative path.
He is attempting to add this path to the URL, as the browser sees and
    find the resouce

In other words, the browser is looking for
