The homepage URL without "/ index.html".

Is it possible to change the URL of the homepage of a site Web de MUSE "/index.html/index.html" does not appear after the ".com"?

I fear that Google will interpret our homepage as a double page.

Thanks for your help in advance!

With respect to obtaining the friendly URLS, there are several ways aside for this server. Most of the Web servers are Apache, and if you're brave, you can read about .htaccess files to make redirects for more friendly URLs. They are complicated and not for the coding of the heart, so be careful. Note, however, that the URL created by Muse can take advantage of these friendly URLS automatically, and links would need to be directed to the right place through hyperlinks drop-down manually.

However, let's talk about the fear of the root here: SEO. Seen index.html links does not know to have a negative impact on the SEO of your site. There is no official source of Google or Microsoft on the topic that indicates something solid on the subject. Both have information about duplicate content, and Google approaches more effectively do a comment saying that the links are compatible. When you use the page of Muse linking features, we will display all of the links to be consistent throughout your site and as such, comply with Google's SEO guidelines on this subject.

Regarding duplicate content, name of the index.html file is a special file for Web sites and Web servers name and is the name of the default page on most of the servers. Servers with server-side languages and other configurations like the one I mentioned above can have different names, but it is by far the most common. Without additional configuration, your server will serve the two index.html and / as the same page, regardless of weather or not it is a site of Muse. Google and Bing, according to our experience, are smart enough to merge the two files without any problems, but the proof is in the pudding, as they say. There is a simple test that you can use to check and make sure they do the right thing. If you want to check that there are no duplicate in the search results, go to Google or Bing and search for "site:http://www.mydomain.com House ' without the quotes. Just replace your domain in there name and search for the title of your home page and you should see your listed home page. In each Muse site I checked (just those random shape by pulling the site of the day) it was only 1 ad for the home page, indicating that there was no likelihood of confusion by search engines. If you want to specify or to check things out more, you can always use Google WebMaster Tools to take additional measures inform Google of your site.

We care about the SEO of your sites and do our best to ensure that things that we can do it automatically, we try to cover for you. We are always making improvements in all areas of our code, and this is one area in particular, we know that you are passionate. Unfortunately, the area of SEO has lots of misinformation, misunderstandings and unknown that spread very quickly and will pass without a real understanding. In addition to doing our best to comply with the best practices of SEO, we also try to make sure that we're not fill your sites with cheap false remedies and tips that don't quite work. When we look at the new features, we think of their impact on your sites, SEO, and what we can do to improve your and your site visitor Web experience. For example, when we have added mobile and Tablet layouts, we've also added canonical and substitute meta tags to your pages so that search engines know duplicate content and also knew where and when redirect users. And new stuff is coming, we will continue to do our best to have the same amount of due diligence ensuring a rank as high as possible for your research. And we will continue to look at areas where we could use improvement and do our best to make them whenever we can.

If all goes well, which clears some things.

  • multi-page html with the same change on index html

    Hi all

I have a site that has multiple pages and is growing. There are several elements (IE a photo and the menu cursor navigation) on every page that are the same. Currently, if I want to change the content in the navigation or the cursor, I need to change all html pages that is a lot of work. Is it possible to insert code into the index html pages not so that if I change the navigation index menu it will automatically change on the other pages? If necessary the website address is www.butlerlawyers.com.au

    Thanks in advance

    There are several solutions:

    1. use server-side includes to you all contain common elements. I use them regularly for things like the HEAD content, content of a header, any element of Navigation, footer and containers of colophon.

    2. use Dreamweaver library items contain the same.

    3. use Dreamweaver templates to create your pages.

#1 is by far the best way, but you must understand how the side server, and how they are set includes work in non scripted pages, or script pages, depending on what you are using.

#2 is a better solution that #3, but one of them doing their work in DW in your files, which then need to be downloaded again to the server later.

  • GET the COMPLETE URL without the file

    Hello
I need to get the http://www.mysite.com/images/ without coding in there so I can use it on several sites without re-encoding. Basically there is an e-mail system where I want to include a header and footer. So that it works the images must have the full paths to the images on the server. I tried
    < cfset mypath = " http://#cgi.server_name##cgi.script_name# " > ""

    This property returns http://localhost/clients/broker2/layout/siteadmin/email/email_news.cfm

What is good except the name of the file at the end.
So I guess my question is - how do you take off the file name?
I want this to work on pages without re-encoding.

How to get out just the name of the file (anything after the last /)?

Process the URL delimited by a list. Can do

This will leave you with / as the last character of myPath. Easy to get rid of if you do not want it.

The homepage URL without "/ index.html".

  • Solve all ' / index.html ' refers to ' / ', so Google (and others) does not duplicate pages.

This question is about a site created by Muse, published on Business Catalyst.

Note the URL of the homepage: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o3shm9uis4jlran/screenshot%202016-04-20%2018.47.24.PNG?DL=0

Now, if you go to one of the links on the right and click the link on the home page to return to the home page, the bar menus adds "/ index.html" at the end of the URL of the homepage: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l6k97e0so2uh9ym/screenshot%202016-04-20%2020.14.12.PNG?DL=0

I would like to know what I have to do within the Muse so that all references to the homepage will resolve to the version which does not add "/ index.html" to it.

Because I have created this site using Muse, ideally, I would like to know if there is a parameter or a procedure within the Muse that could accomplish this.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help you.

  • Pointing to URLS without Extension of html to a homepage.

    Hello

I have a site where all pages end in .html or .php extensions.  I need to have a url without the html extension point to my home page.  For example, the home page is www.idealwindow.com.  I need to create a link - www.idealwindow.com/trucks that when you click on it, will raise www.idealwindow.com.  Anyone know how I can do this?  Thank you.

Create a blank page in the truck file called index.html. Then, in theTags of this page to paste this code in:

    http://www.idealwindow.com"/ >

When the viewer navigates to the page that is announced on the truck this code will redirect them to the appropriate home page.

  • Edit the index.html file to another page

Is there a way to change the page index.html (always the first left in the outline view) to another page?

    Screenshot_2013-12-03_09-31-29.png

I want the House to be the index because I have a graphic instead of text each time that people click on the link it are redirected to the home page.

Basically, you can have a better understanding is you go here http://seventhsensetheband.com/ I want the button to be my index.html.

    Thank you in advance.

Create a menu manual and you add the links. For a menu automatically, even if you drag pages in outline view, the first page is index.html.

Insert the menu into the menu options, choose manual from the menu Type of Menu. For a small site, that's fine.

  • my index.html makes differently if I name index.htm

I use dreamweaver to create a new Web site. During the test it (named index.html) home page renders correctly in firefox, but looks good in other browsers. I discovered that if I name index.htm or default.html it looks normal. The index.html file just seems wrong.

    HI ccsjoe,
It depends on so many different things. If you need assistance with this code please try stackoverflow for some tips from developer.

However, in my experience, the difference in htm vs html is that there is no real difference. However, even if there is no real difference, if the files are not the same, they will be different. http://www.sightspecific.com/~MOSH/ww.../ext.html

I'm afraid, it's default system process and it is not possible to change the file name for the first page created in Adobe Muse of index.html at home or any other file name.

  • Index page to fade to the homepage

    Hello Theree,

I wish that my page index repel melted to the homepage without clicking.

Is there a way to do this in Muse?

    The site is at

    http://justcarsautomotive.BusinessCatalyst.com/index.html

I want to fade to the home page, the index page.

    Ciao

    Hi Combridge,

Unfortunately, fades like this / no click gateways are not something that Muse don't natively. There are codes to achieve this effect, but this isn't a feature that made Muse on his own.

I don't know if you use Google for a bit of code, or maybe somebody here could suggest something, you might find something to your needs.

  • Why is-2 slashes after domain name now, when you publish a live site after the new update with Muse? Post also after the site he has these 2 slashes before 'index.html '.

There are 2 slashes after domain name now, when you need to publish a live site after the new update with Muse?

-It was always a slash after the domain name. And if BC publication the

site - it has also these 2 slashes before "index.html" - is this correct? - or something wrong?

    slash.png

    Hi erinb61521593,

I did some tests at my end and can confirm that it is a known problem with the latest version of Muse but I advise you to choose the option with the / / at the time of release as it will download your site in good folder on the servers of BC (that points to your domain name) and after publishing the site if you go to the url with single / it works perfectly.

We already noted this problem with the developers of muse and I don't know that it will be fixed in the next version of Muse.

Feel free to reply to this post, just in case I missed something or if you have any other doubts about this.

  • Index.html in sensitive page is not displayed automatically in the local folder of DW

I use Adobe Dreamweaver Creative cloud version 13-Dreamweaver 2013-implementation to date. It is for Adobe Dreamweaver Creative Cloud manual, full AUTHORS: Hoisington/Minnick - 2015 ©.

Operating system is windows 10 Windows 8.1 update

8 GB and 64-bit hardware and do not use a third-party software.

I create reactive web page of Plant_Nursery and index.html in the nursery Web page is not displayed automatically in the local folder of DW. Also, page nursery to see a preview in Google chrome and Firefox is correctly read. However not seen in school CINV webserver URL - after downloading files via CoreFTP.

To resolve this problem, I contacted Deamweaver support team, but they have not solved this problem.  Also, I went to https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/how-to/make-website-pt2-add-content.html. To create HTML myself, I click on the Panel to insert with split button, but there is that HTML5 video to select.  Right now, I'm not able to create index.html. Please help me how is automatically created index.html in my nursery Web page. I dropped this web design class-Adobe Dreamweaver creative cloud in the last six months because the same matter has not been resolved. To resolve this problem, I spent more than 4 days. I don't want to drop this class once more because of index.html file has failed.

DW does not automatically your page index for you.

You must choose the file > New > Site templates > PlantN > nurseryTemplate to create a child page in your site template.

Then save under > index.html to the root of your site.

This is how you create all the pages of your site that you plan to use the model for.
