Frozen laptop to "install updates 1 of 1.

I have a laptop Acer 5542 6 months old. In the last month, I got the blue screen twice, and I have no idea why. The laptop has been hot, is it possible that? I have now bought a laptop to computer has hope that was the least of my problems.

Apparently not.

I used my laptop this morning and then it turned off, and he said that he was '1 1' updates to be precise. I went out and left, I came back 5 hours later and it froze on this message, it was plugged, but my mother disconnected so that the screen went black so I told her to turn it off it had made updates to the thought.

I plugged the laptop back in because the battery should be dead by the time, I'm home

I don't know what to do, if you want to disable it and run the risk of seeing what is happening or what. Any way that the blue screen is related to that?

Acer said it is out of warranty, but it has not reached the 6-month period yet!

Hello

§ You are able to boot to the desktop normally?

I suggest that you turn off the laptop and then turn on and check if you are able to boot to the desktop normally. Checking update has been installed on the system. Follow step 1.

c. check (failed or successful) updates on the exact date when the update has been installed on the system.

Let us know the number of the update has been installed on the system recently.

d. remove it clicking Update installed system.

e. click on the update that has recently been installed on the system, then click on uninstall.

f. check if you are able to boot to the desktop normally.

If you are not able to boot to the desktop normally, then check if you're able to boot in safe mode. Follow step 2.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

I CS5.5 Master Collection and you want to transfer to a new laptop.  The CS5.5 was an update for CS3 Design standard and I have all the disks and serial numbers.  I just uninstall both programs a laptop and install them on the other?

You can do it, but you don't have to install cs3 in order to install your upgrade of cs5.5.

You can launch the installation of cs5.5 and you will be asked your cs5.5 serial number.  Setup will ask you then select the product (in a drop-down list) calling.  Select cs3 and you will be prompted for the serial number for cs3.

Enter the correct number at the right time and to proceed with the installation.

If you no longer need these programs on your old laptop, disable (help > deactivate) before uninstalling so that you can keep your two activations.

    Hi @help987 ,

I understand that you encounter a problem installing your Windows updates.

    Please try these steps.

    Method 1:

I would suggest to run Windows Update to convenience store and check if it helps.

    (a) press the Windows Key + W key on the keyboard.
    (b) resolution of the problems of type in the search box, and then press ENTER.
    (c) select Troubleshooting. Click on show all the and select Windows Update and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Method 2:

I suggest perform you a boot in minimum mode and disable the security software and check if you are able to install windows update manually.

Clean boot will check if any third-party application is causing the problem, as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    (a) press Windows + R Type msconfig in the search box and then press or click on msconfig.

    (b) the Services of the System Configuration dialog tab, tap or click to select the hide all Microsoft services check box, and then press or click disable all.

    (c) on the start-up of the System Configuration dialog tab, tap or click Open the Task Manager.

    (d) the tab to Start in the Manager of tasks, for each startup item, select the item, and then click disable.

    (e) close the Task Manager.

    (f) on the start-up of the System Configuration dialog tab, press or click OK, and then restart the computer.

Note: once you have finished troubleshooting, follow the steps in "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a repair by clean boot " to reset the computer as usual.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Download and install the update manually and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to install the update manually:

    a. go to the Microsoft Download Center page

    b. type the number in the search box and press ENTER.

    c. download and install the update and check if it helps.

    Hi Jim,.

It seems that there may be a startup program or service that is causing the reboot. If the same problem happens even in Safe Mode, the computer is pretty damn good since its XP. XP is still the best OS for many users, but the downside is that there are options unlike Vista and Windows 7, they have JOBS and the Windows recovery environment I've seen have saved a lot of time to repair. YES JOBS.
If you don't have the recovery CD, your computer manufacturer SHOULD have it unless you have an integrated HARD disk restore function. As far as I know, you can request a CD for a few dollars. Around under $ 10, I guess?
