function disable pad touch

On the 4 HP ENVY laptop is a feature that deactivates and reactivates the touchpad tapping twice in the upper left corner (where there is a small gray rectangle to indicate the position for the faucet to tun, the touchpad works). What is the procedure to disable this feature? (I find that I often accidentally disable the touchpad accidentally and prefer the feature has been disabled)

Hello

Open windows control panel and open Synaptics (you can also access it via the mouse... Settings tab... Settings button).  Option, you must disable is ' "Double tap to turn off the touchpad" - the exact location of this setting may vary according to the Synaptics version you have and to some extent the material.  An example of its location in Synaptics 8.1 can be seen in the picture below - just remove the check mark highlighted, click Close, then click on apply.

Kind regards

    Hi dove2k,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

You will need to enable the touchpad on the laptop itself.

Find the area of the touch pad, you will find a button to enable or disable the touchpad.

If the step above doesn't, try this step.

Go to control panel > mouse > device settings tab
    Click (or to disable)

    Notes:
On some models, there is a keyboard shortcut to enable or disable the touchpad. For example, ACER, just do Fn + F7.
You can click on Reset device if none of these solutions work.

If you still can't touch pad to work, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more information.

  • How to disable the TOUCH PAD

I have a laptop of HP G42-475DX 62 bits. How can I deactivate my Touch Pad and just use the mouse? My problem is that while I'm typing touch pad cursor must jump into a paragraph & when I look up all of my text that I wrote is so a total mess, phrases running together etc. I would like to disable the Touch Pad.

Facilities to turn the TouchPad depends on whether the driver supports.

Go to the Control Panel, select mouse. If there is a device settings tab, you should be able to disable the TouchPad.

    Hi leavercleaver

If you use preinstalled original Win7 check please if you can find this option in Toshiba Assist > Optimize > Toshiba hardware configuration > set button > function key.

As far as I know Toshiba hardware utility control BIOS configuration option so that you can also do is to enter the BIOS settings, check if this option is available it and disable it directly here.

  • Help! Disable the touch screen on Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4

Hi, I have a problem, try to disable the touch screen of the Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 function in Windows 8... I was looking for an answer on how to do it, but I did not find anything. I tried the method of the control panel > hardware and sound > pen and touch and then disable the option "use your finger as input device", but this option is not there for me! If anyone knows how to do this, I would be very grateful.

    Hello

I have another type of TouchSmart, but this may work for you:

    1. Press Windows + X logo.
    2. Select Device Manager from the list.
    3. Click on the small arrow next to Interface devices to expand the list.
    4. Click the touchscreen driver (in my case, Voltron NextWindow touch screen).
    5. Right click and select disable from the list.
    6. Click Yes in the dialog box that asks you if you are sure you want to disable the touch screen driver.

When you want your touchscreen to work again, follow the above procedure, EXCEPT when right-clicking on the touch screen driver, select enable.

  • Disable the touch screen for a laptop Windows 8?

I have a Dell XPS L702x infamous Ghost by clicking on issues where the touch screen randomly 'clicks' on arbitrary areas of the screen (mine seems to be in the lower right corner, often minimize all my open windows or opening calendar) and through the upgrade to Windows 8, it seems a former N-Trig driver who disappeared I would disable the touch screen. Now, I have no way to disable the touch screen, and while Google suggested release "Use your finger as input device" under the pen and touch, I don't even have this available to UN-click box on!

So: How can I disable the touch screen on my laptop or y at - it a program that can do for me? I am indifferent in fact using the touchscreen - I'm more concerned with the ability to functionally use my laptop without sporadic clicks on my screen.
    Thank you.

I had the same problem with XPS 17 my wife.    I needed to restore basic functionality so that disabling the touch screen was acceptable.     However, unlike samie (but like you) I didn't "Use your finger as input" option in the control panel.

I tried to disable the device N-Trig driver in Device Manager, but the pilot did not appear to have be properly installed (after the upgrade from win7)

I went on the N-Trig (http://www.n-trig.com/Content.aspx?Page=Downloads_Drivers) driver download site and download the new drivers for windows 8 (I have the feeling that they weren't here last week).

I then when options "Device Manager" on the "Hardware and Sound" page of the control panel.

In the Device Manager screen, I saw a node N-trig DuoSense digitizers with several below subnode (before dev driver install it there was only one).

I right mouse button on the element at the top, with a name that ends by "between the roots" and select "disable."

    This touch screen successfully disabled.

Pity to lose the touch screen, but my wife does not use it and I was in danger of my life, as it was.

  • Disable features touch on X 220

    Hello

IM wondering if it is possible to disable the touch screen feature on the shelves of Lenovo X 220?

I want to do is I want the pen to continue to function normally and to disable the entry of finger on the screen.

I've been looking around all the settings but can't find this option anywhere.

Because XP does not natively support of touch of the finger, there is nothing in the OS to enable it or disable it.  You must install the touch for XP driver while there should be a 'Touch Settings' icon in Control Panel to do what you want.

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=DS014979

It's 2012, it is really high time to stop installing XP on new PCs as X 220, don't you think?

  • Disable the touch screen scrolling

I found a ton of results describing how to force Firefox to scroll as a touchscreen. Let me start by being clear: I want to do the opposite of this. I have a page that key scrolls correctly, but this causes problems.

I use a web page that submits electronic contracts, and they require signatures; I access this page from a Dell XPS 18 tablet. The problem is that the signature field is extremely temperamental. If you try to connect, the page scrolls, and the signature field remains empty. If you type just as it should be and then start to sign later, you can select the field, and it works. The problem is that it is so capricious, it took me several minutes to get the idea of the right button/timing of the thing. This does not work for clients. If I plug a conventional mouse, it works as it should; Click and drag the points highlights text, rather than scrolling and click and drag in the signature box signs.

I use Firefox for this task because of its high degree of customization; I could (pretty simple) to make everything display exactly as I wanted. On that note, I hope that there is a way to disable the touch scrolling. I tried to use the clamp and slide the module to subvert its own destination, but it does not seem an option to do this. If someone can point me in the direction of a parameter or add-on that can do this, I'll be very grateful. Ideally, I would like to disable on this page in particular only, but disable overall would be as well.

Since the submission of my original post, I spent a lot of time delving into everything: config with nothing else than an incomplete article knowledge base to guide me, and after losing a ton of time to play with the mousewheel settings, I discovered gestures.enable_single_finger_input, set it to false and voila! Problem solved. If there is never anyone trying to accomplish this for a reason, I hope that you find it useful.

I want to use the calibrators of color such as colourmunki for my graphic work. These must place me something on the screen.

I tried Control Panel and manual with no luck.

    Hello

Have you found a way to do it?
I think that it of not possible to disable the touch screen.
Found no information in the user manual. Maybe you can check the BIOS settings available. Switch on and press F2 to enter the BIOS.
But to be honest, I doubt that a power option would be available there.

  • How to disable the touch screen of the Toshiba LX830 - 11 d

    Hello

    I managed to break the touch screen on a Toshiba LX830 - 11 d.

The machine runs Win8 and always works with a USB keyboard and a mouse, although he thinks there are plenty of touch of the finger around the damaged area.

Is it possible to disable the touch screen feature so that I can use it as a 'normal' PC or remove the screen touch himself leaving a simple LCD screen?

    Thanks for any advice.
    Dennis

You see the touch screen in Device Manager? Maybe you can turn it off in there.

  • HP ENVY 15-ae178ca laptop: I disabled the touch screen on my laptop HP ENVY how I get it back?

I have disabled my touch screen, how do I get it back on?

    @scoop58

Welcome to the Forums of HP,
    I hope you're well

I understand that the touch screen no longer works after upgrade to windows 10,
don't worry, however, as I have a few steps that should solve your problem:

To activate the touch screen driver in Device Manager:

    1. In Windows, locate and open the Device Manager.
    2. Expand the Human Interface Devices section.
    3. The touchscreen device is labeled HID-compliant screen touch, or similar. Right click on the touch screen device.
    4. If the option to activate the device is included in the menu, click Activate.

    Keep me posted,

    Kind regards

For Windows 8 and 8.1 with a newer laptop, open Device Manager. The same procedure is likely to be quite similar for Windows 7.

Right click on the tactile HID-Compliant device and select properties to call the Properties window.
