  • Can I safely delete the D partition on the HARD drive?

Second question: my laptop came with the HD in two partitions, C and d is there a purpose for this and I can easily (safely) delete the D partition?

You can do what you want and you can create a partition but HARD DISK with two partitions has since. All important data, you can save the second one (D). If something is wrong with the operating system you can install it at any time on the partition c. on this way, all your data will still be there.

The delivered use recovery media, you can use the configuration option and select installation on already created the C partition.

I recommend you leave him with two partitions.

  • Can I safely delete my original my iMac Lightroom catalog if I now use more recent versions on an external drive?

When I started using Lightroom, I installed it on my iMac - so I have the original and also Lightroom 2, 4 and 5 on this drive, and I always started Lightroom from the icon in the dock.  For the past year or so I start and work from a copy on an external hard drive, so I think it's the current version of my catalogs.

Can I safely delete previous versions of Lightroom from my computer (I am currently free space).

Can I reinstall Lightroom software directly on the external drive and then even that remove it from the computer - because I assume that the external drive refers to the LR-5 on the computer in order to open?

    Mac OSX 10.7.5

    Hello

You can remove the old version of the Lightroom from your computer. Make sure that your catalog of work is safe.

You can directly install Lightroom on the external hard drive, but adobe does not recommend that.

    Thank you

  • Can I safely delete all these files on clean now?

I had to reinstall my OS after I found a rather nasty on my computer virus. After having done that of course he saved my old files of windows and all my old programs Can I remove all these files on clean now? Also, what are in Hibernation File Cleaner files it a huge 1.98 GB? User and system archived Windows error reporting and error system queued reports, can also these go too?

    Hello

Well, if they are of no use to you, you can safely remove them using disk cleanup. However, I would recommend you search and back up important files before you delete them.

  • I have 117 hard files - can I safely delete some?

Y at - it hurt to delete old files hard?

Physical disk space is assigned every time the guest OS writes to a new location. However, if files are deleted within the guest OS space is not automatically retrieved, and you will need to shrink / cleaning of the virtual disk manually. Please take a look at KB VMware: defragmentation, shrinkage and cleaning of disks of virtual machines VMware Fusion for more details. Also, make sure that you back up the files of the virtual machine before cleaning!

  • Why can't I delete a file corrupted in my program files?

I could not update my iTunes application in Vista 32 bit.  I tried the uninstall/reinstall, now it won't install because I have a file corrupted in my program files.  When I try to delete the file, I said that I don't have permission to delete, but I am the administrator of my machine.  WTF?  C:\Program Files\Fichiers Apple Mobile Device Support\SyncServices\Schemas\Notes.syncschema\Contents\Resources\Spanish.lproj\Localizable.strings
"Make sure you have access to this directory?  someone please help
-I now have ownership of the files, according to the guests. However, I now get error 0 x 80070091: the directory is not empty and forced either retry or cancel.  Thanks for the links.  Unfortunately, I still can't convince my machine to remove old files 8-(.)

I FOUND the solution, thanks to Suzukibiker, Chaddington Boomhauer on SecondLife and Pyrografix on Microsoft TechNet.  Long story short, I activated the REAL administrator of my machine through http://www.autoshutdown.org/how-to-enable-administrator-in-vista.html and was able to take in hand the folder and files.  I then renamed the something VERY vulgar folder, only the iTunes Installer ignored later, allowing me to finally completely reinstall iTunes.

Thank you once again for the excellent advice.

  • Satellite M200 - can I safely delete partition?

    I have a Satellite M200.
It came with 3 partitions on the hard drive: a recovery partition 1.46 GB, NTFS Vista 142.51 partition and partition 5,07 GB hidden with God - knows - what.

Can I safely remove the 5,07 GB partition?

    Hello

I think that it is a Canadian cell phone model because I do not see this partition on European models for Toshiba laptop.

However, it seems that you have found the answer to your question.
It seems that the second hidden partition has been created to store the data of the second language, which is available on the portable Toshiba bilingual model, which comes preinstalled with two additional partitions that hold images of English and French language.

I think you can remove this partition, if you have already chosen your preferred language.

I also found this FAQ from Toshiba:

  • can I safely delete "unused desktop shortcuts" from my office?

my computer is slow, and I'm trying to remove as much junk I can of my C drive, as it got very crowded.  something appeared on my desktop-"unused desktop shortcuts" and it has more than 1,900 items.  can I safely remove this?  I have windows XP home - I'm not very techno

The folder with unused desktop shortcuts is generally created and filled during the execution of the Integrated Desktop Cleanup Wizard. 1900 shortcuts does not seem to be a bit excessive, but if you had the time close to machine, and the cleanup utility was run regularly so I guess it's possible to have accumulated that much over time.

You must be sure to remove the folder, although it won't make a difference to the functioning of your PC. Reasons for a slow running machine are usuallyeither that there is too much background running processes, or you have been infected by some kind of Malware.

    I hope this helps.

  • Can I safely delete these old files related to Firefox?

While addressing a problem last week, I came across the following files in my computer:

    nsSessionStore.js C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator 9\components\ 72 KB 2007-08-16 04:07: 44
    C:\Program Files\PortFirefox\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\components\ 72 KB 2007-07-26 12:09 nsSessionStore.js: 20

I did find out a little more and found that Netscape Navigator is still installed on this system! Should I uninstall it? I don't remember using it for centuries and I doubt it's something special that Firefox can not do now.

There is no installed program called Port Firefox, just a big file (about 32 Meg) - of the date of creation (8 September 2007) and the date of last change (October 23, 2010), I'm pretty sure that this record has been left by the computer technician who brought my system. Can I go ahead and just delete the folder?

Finally, there is another folder in Program Files, which looks like it has the same dates, and even once, does not seem to be related to any installed program. -This one is called Radio@NetscapePlus.
Yet once, just delete the folder?

I'm a bit of a mission to get all the stuff obsolete and unused out of my system so I would really like to know what to do about these files.

    Thank you, KK.

None of these 'files' are associated with your installation of Firefox 32 at all!

Yes, uninstall Netscape 9 - there has been a lot more features that Firefox has, it was a 'Suite' of internet programs much like SeaMonkey is now. You won't miss what you have not used for many years.
Make sure that you remove all files that could be left behind, too. Delete the Radio@NetscapePlus file, also.

PortableFirefox is not actually 'install', there is no registry key as with the official version of Firefox. If you delete all the folder Program Files Portable will be gone and will not be an official impact your Firefox installation.

  • Can I safely delete the "Old files Firefox" file from my laptop?

within this file is this one: 7tmo2rs4.default

It contains a lot of files, including sqlites

Hi fourtwojaw, the old data of Firefox folder is created or updated when you use Refresh in Firefox. The semi-randomly-named folder inside contains your old settings, which some have been preserved in the refresh (such as bookmarks) and some are only in this folder. If you have not noticed something important missing, you can remove the folder, but I suggest allowing a few weeks because you will not notice the loss immediately.

  • Can you safely delete files in the C:\windows\temp folder? If so, how?

    Temp folder

Use Disk Cleanup: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76073-disk-cleanup.html.  When you use the options, one will be for temporary files - just be sure to check out (and everything you want to wash at the same time).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

: I hundredsnof K0000 security notice on my system from 2007. I can remove them safely?

Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.

These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/xxxxxx
NB: XXXXXX = the actual number, not to mention the "Q" or "Ko."

Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.
