  I have a HP Pavilion g6 - 2250sa Notebook where I lost the 'ENTER' key and fixing clips. I try to identify the correct spare parts but when I put my serial number, description of the product, or product on the HP product site is not recognized.

  I looked on several sites keyreplacement but none of the keyboards they show the configeration even than mine.

  They all have oblong shape keys long "ENTER" while mine has upside in the shape it of 'L' one.

  Can you advise me please?

  I have a Pavilion 17-e110dx (F9L87UAR #ABA), running Windows 8.1. Today, I put a DVD in my optical drive and when I heard it turns, I ejected the drive, but the drive is now stuck to the INSIDE of my computer... Please help!  The Player opens and closes without any problem... where's my drive?   How can I safely remove the optical drive in order to take out the drive? I don't want to damage the disc, because it contains irreplaceable photos.

  Also - I bought this laptop a month ago, refurbished and it is still under warranty.

  It must always be inside the optical drive. It is a closed box. Turn the laptop on the back, open the service Bay and search a single screw with an icon of DVD player next to him. Remove the screws and the DVD player should slide out of the chassis with a little help by behind with a flat blade screwdriver. Pages 47-49 in this manual shows how.

  Once the disc is out of the chassis, you can use the pin hole to open it with a folded-out paperclip. Completely open and you should be able to see the drive in there to remove it.

  Hello, my name is Charles and I am looking to upgrade my laptop Hp Pavilion DV6Z. I know that it is a older laptop, but recently I bought Diablo 3 and I want to be able to run it on here. This computer has 3 GB of Ram and had a new hardrive put in pretty recently. In this computer I have:

  HP Motherboard 30F2

  Processor AMD Athlon X 2 Dual-Core QL-60

  Graphics AMD Radeon HD 3200 card.

  and the minimum requirements for Diablo III are:

  -Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X 2 4400 + processor

  -NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT or ATI Radeon X 1950 Pro or higher.

  Preferably, I would like to be able to run the game on average or better settings. Is it useful to upgrade this laptop even though it is a little older? Thanks for any advice.

  Basically, a complete motherboard Exchange should update the video.

  The processor can probably be updated to one of those listed in Chapter 1.

  The costs attendant when you run an upgrade card mother processor and swap, in my opinion, would exceed the cost of buying a new computer laptop with what you want in it, if you were to your trade (some stores offer up to $200 for the times) or sell it.

  My laptop has lent to my sister in law.  Tried to use it after his return there less power cord which I had to buy.

• Unable to connect to Linksys WRT120N router using Notebook Pavilion dv1000

  I recently bought a Linksys WRT120N router for my existing HP Pavilion dv1000 laptop. I am not able to connect to this router to my laptop.

  The steps I am following are-

  1. I activated the WLAN by clicking on the switch.

  2 a permit wireless

  3. given the available wireless networks

  4 selected my network (which is a secure (WPA) wireless network) and clicked on connect

  5 enter the network key (twice) and clicked on connect

  I get the message - "Please wait so that windows connects to the network, waiting for the network"... After a while the screen goes away; There is no message of success or failure of a current connection. The same wireless connection works my other laptop Toshiba in a jiffy, which means that my router seems to have been implemented correctly. Both are on the version of Windows XP Home Edition, SP3, 2002.

  I did the following settings for my wireless connection: -.

  the network card is PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection

  I have the most up to date driver, checked for an update

  the network for my wireless connection authentication type is WPA - PSK

  data encryption is TKIP

  is the wireless network - enabled network (WPA) wireless security

  What follows is set for the wireless to 192.168.0.1

  manual configuration

  network-mixed mode

  name of the channel-xyz

  channel width - 20 mhz only

  great channel-auto

  STD - 6 channel - 2.437 GHZ

  guys, I found others who have faced the same problem too

  the solution to this problem is the Forum of linksys... the key was to update the firmware for the router and get the wifi driver was last updated to intel!

• HP Support Assistant missing and Notebook Pavilion g6 turning very slow

  I have a Pavilion laptop g6 AX 1209 running on a Windows 7 Home basic 64 - bit OS. I uninstalled wrong "HP Setup" software through a third-party software called "Revo Uninstaller". Now I find my HP product Assistant in my missing task bar. My OS has become too slow as a result. Help, please.

  If it is not... Well, you have learned your lesson. System Restore is one of the most important features of Windows7 and I will disable it not.

  If you have backed up your system and files with a mirror image you can use it to restore. I'm not a geek, but if I were in your position, my last resort is to save my files on removable media and do another reinstall with my recovery disk to restore my laptop to factory settings.

• Notebook Pavilion DV4 correct replacement charger?

  I have a Pavilion DV4 laptop, which came with a charger 65W.

  I broke the charger and bought a replacement of OEM HP (part #KG298AA) brand listed compatibility with portable computers dm1 HP Pavilion dm3, tm2, dv2, dv3, dv4, dv5, dv, 6, dv7 and tx2.  In other words, mine.

  However, this is a 90W, vice the 65W charger charger, with that the laptop came.  It seems to connect and load OK, but I don't want to fry the laptop because the output is too high.

  Is the charger 90W really compatible with the Pavilion DV4, as argued in the box?

  Yes the laptop will draw only what suits him. Watts is volts times amps. You always want to use an adapter that has the same voltage and at least the same amps, but if it's higher amps which is OK, as long as the connection is the same. The highest amps will charge the battery more quickly but otherwise don't show no difference in the actual use.

  Hi experts,

  I am facing problem with Wifi reception. Infact the driver is updated, but the wifi hardware is not detected.

  So I guess it's a hardware problem and I want to change the Wifi card.

  My OEM equipment is shown in the image below:

  Can someone please suggest, I should only match the number of model "112BNHMW" when you select a spare for the replacement card?

  On the market, I could see a lot of the alternative, but if model wifi card number match, then match donot number of SPS. If the SPS number match then, some other numbers will not match. Also, some are "celeron", but some are "wifi link 1000".

  Exact same replacement is hard to find. Help, please

  Also, if there is no replacement better than OEM, then please suggest what it thus.

  I don't know what model of laptop wireless card has, then please do so that I can post the driver for the wireless card.

  Or you can look in the category of network adapters in Windows 8 Device Manager and validate the model now.

  Go to Device Manager and click on the network controller needing drivers.

  Then click on the Details tab at the top of the control of the network window.

  Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

• 15PC Notebook Pavilion 15: upgrade to windows 10

  When you try to upgrade to windows 10, my 25 character product key comes up as invalid.

  This machine has never been repaired or updated since purchase in 2014.

  Is it possible to assign a different product key that IS recognized as legitimate by windows 10?

  I applied the automatic download of microsoft upgrade to Windows 10 about 4 - 5 times and every time it reported "unable to install files.

  There is nothing wrong with our internet connection, so I tried to install it from the DVD and got the routine "invalid key productkey/decreased demand."

  A representative of HP since called me to explain why the upgrade is not to proceed and sends a disk via postal mail to correct the problem.

  I was very impressed by his coutesy and his true interest in my problem.

  I don't have the same answer when dealing with HP service centers in the past.

• G7 - 1117cl Notebook Pavilion: failure of DST short. Failure ID-RGF722-5PLU820-MFPV5F-60RW03

  System does not boot recovery disc does not work and boot full of disks in Windows 7 there will be no more. Start-up test showed the failure above code. I have not now exactly what the code means, or if I can get without replacing the HARD drive.

  The code actually read RGF722-5PU820-MFPV5F-60RW03 (IE not L in the 2nd block of characters)?
  

  If that is correct, the error code 24 characters is a disk failure short self-test and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the problem you describe.

  If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.
