Funmoods has hijacked my Mozilla start page
I use Mozilla default start page (topic: Home). Funmoods changed the Google search engine. I do not have the Funmoods toolbar & Funmoods isn't in my installed programs. Also, Funmoods is not listed as an add-on, or it appears in my other search engines. I want to just get rid of it. I have reset my default homepage of Mozilla (topic: Home)-no change. I went in: config & reset "browser.startup.homepage" and I always funmoods as the default search. Someone can understand where could hide from the funmoods & how can I reset my default google search engine?
I think that the techniques in the following thread should run as long you don't have any what persistent extension: how it prevents 3rd party applications to change settings (for example the homepage) of the FF?.
To eradicate any suspicious sounding or simple unnecessary extensions, see the list here:

Can I change the start page to not display Google and access Google another average, so that my character is displayed on the start page of together?

As you can see on the article using themes with Firefox , personas are 'lightweight themes that can change the color plan and the Firefox toolbar background image' and they do not change Web pages.

where is my Mozilla start page?

When I open it again my browser... this very annoying... If to use more visited, then the start page will disappear. Please help if you can. I have redownloaded fire fox and it did not help
Maybe your preferences do not save.
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/preferences%20are%20not%20saved
If the above does not solve your problem, you can try this.
An alternative method will directly change the config... don't know if it works or not.
-> Type about: config in the address bar and click on "I'll be careful, I promise".
-> In the filter text box, enter "browser.startup.homepage".
-> Right click and choose Edit.
-> Enter the desired site and press 'Ok '.Also make sure that the value of "browser.startup.page" is set to 1
If you still have the problem, can you tell if you did anything out of the ordinary that caused the option home page to behave like that.

What is the difference b/w Google search Mozilla Start Page and search bar?
It is not a priority, I want just a general answer.
I read that Google renew the license of the Google search bar on the Start Page of Mozilla Firefox, and it is where Mozilla makes 90% of its money, because it is a not-for-profit organization.
I want to know if I give Google a signal to make use of this licence renewal when I search from the Page start and not from the bar I research have.
Hi Marc, it won't make a difference if search you from the home page or the search bar - both use the same default search provider.
In addition, mozilla is more in partnership with google. For more details please see https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/11/19/promoting-choice-and-innovation-on-the-web/ -
How to make a new tab open to a Mozilla start page?
I don't know where to make the change so when I opened a new tab, it opens to a start page of Mozilla instead of a white one.
Thank youHello kodi2011, you can modify the site that opens in a new tab like this:
enter Subject: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears), get preference named browser.newtab.url, double-click it and change its value on the site you want to see (the default value is on: newtab, for the firefox home page to use on: House or fill any other url).

Hello.
Before the update for Firefox 42.01 on the channel every night, I used a custom start page that would open every time I open a new tab or browser window. I did this by creating a file custom .html, entering into the Firefox configuration files and saying to open this file whenever I open a new tab. This worked before, but since this update and putting great implement new tab system, it doesn't work anymore. I checked my config files and it still connects to my custom .html file, but Firefox does not open it. Is it possible to use my custom instead of the built-in Mozilla start page?
Thanks in advance for your help.Hi larsgrossmann, you cannot change the tab through a preference page, use rather https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/ ...

I turn on my laptop and my Mozilla start page comes up. He tells me that I am not on the latest version of Firefox, so I download and run the latest version. I've done everything that I do and stop. When I restart also always it tells me the same thing - even on the same day. I check my downloads and tells me I have the latest version. I don't understand, and we find it a little frustrating.
Your help would be appreciated.
Change your home page. See How to set the home page
It - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Page to start Firefox used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I do not think that it is maintained by Google.
From version Firefox 4, Firefox uses a 'local' with the address Start Page of Subject: House. It looks like the old start Page, but this isn't exactly the same thing.

How can I make Mozilla Firefox Start Page use Google search instead of Aol search?
A few months ago the Mozilla Firefox Start Page has suddenly started using Aol instead of Google search when I used the search bar. I don't remember if I did anything on PURPOSE or something when it happened, but on the navigation bar, my search engine is always Google... I really want to use Google instead of Aol search, and I don't want to change my home page?
Change of the topic: Home search engine to Google.
Firefox button > Web Developer-> Notepad.
Copy and paste this script into Notepad > then click on run > runjavascript:{localStorage["search-engine"]="{\"name\":\"Google\",\"searchUrl\":\"http://www.google.com/search?q=_searchTerms_&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a\"}";void(0);}

When I click the Mozilla icon on my desktop, a mozilla firefox start page developed that has NO mozilla button to click and access the characters, story, options, etc. Also the entire page shifts automatically down a bit to only show that google question box and no address bar. Also, there was once a place where I could click on pages more accessible, but that disappeared a few weeks before. I have a HP computer and that you never know what will look like the start page.
Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).
If you are in full screen view then hover over with the mouse upward to make the bar appear Navigation and tab bar.
You can click the maximize button in the upper right to leave the mode full screen or empty space of a right-click on a toolbar and use "exit full screen" or press F11. -
Whenever I run Firefox, tabs has also begin to open with the Start Page Mozilla Firefox, which is very irritating. How can I avoid this happening whenever I run the browser?

It is also possible that there is a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
If you see files sessionstore-# .js with a number in the left part of the name as sessionstore - 1.js then delete those as well.
Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and groups of tabs to get lost, so you'll have to create them again (note).See:

the start page of mozilla firefox are customizable as it is in the same way the chrome one
as have photos and other things instead of the homepage standard thxNo. - default home page (subject: House) cannot be customized, as in some other browsers.
IMO, topic: newtab will not give you what your want, without having to install an add-on with the features that you want to change.
For example - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/The best way to "fix", which is to define your own choices for 'your' home page.
