Fuze Novice

As I await with impatience the arrival of my first mp3 player, - A rocket with a micro card 8 g, I'm busily preparations remotely. If I understand correctly, the arrival of the parcel, (1) I simply insert the card into the reader (2) charging it (3) download the latest version of the software (4) and I use it only for a collection of classical music and the audiobooks, ensure that it is in mode MSC and then using Windows Explorer simply drag and drop files in the respective folders.

A confirmation of this procedure would be very appreciated by this 70-year-old.

Thanks a lot for your patience and time.

Black Rectangle has offered many good suggestions to get your collection of music in the best shape for the "rocket".  I found MP3Tag to be a very good program free and easy to use.

When you get your drive, I suggest you do not insert the card first.  Keep for later.

1. load your rocket.

2 - put in MSC mode.

3 - manually update it.  Using updater sansa can sometimes cause problems.  In your sansa, go to Settings - Control Panel - scroll info - look for the version number.  See there is a version 1 or 2.  You can download the latest firmware here.  It'll be that regions download them all to your version.  It will have instructions to do it manually.

4. replace the mode in MSC.  The firmware update will be automatic detection mode.

5 format the "rocket", first through your computer, a full format, FAT32.  It will optimize your memory.

6. in-house format the "rocket".  The latest firmware needs so that the limit of 8000 song can be reached.  He will rebuild the database of song information.

7 - Insert your card.  He may not need, but you can put in shape too.

Now, he is ready to be loaded with your music.  The "rocket" is a great player and can give you many hours of pleasure.

  • Novice replacement RAM. Can I do this?

Hi, I've never tampered with any PC before, much less an iMac, but I want to increase the RAM in my iMac 2010 mid - I currently installed 2 x 2 GB strips, and now it is a little on the slow side. It seems pretty easy to make even for a novice like me. Would it not be better to:

I've read about problems with iMacs does not begin after instillation so I'm a little worried to do this, it should be fine right? Can Apple if something is wrong?

    Thank you.

Yes you can do it. Apple provides instructions: install the memory in an iMac - Apple Support

Buy memory from a vendor who housed Macs. OWC / MacSales and Crucial are the only providers I have used and can recommend. Based on the PC vendors often sell RAM that does not meet the specifications of Apple and will not work on a Mac.

Before you invest money you should first determine if the performance of your Mac is limited by available memory. For information about how to determine that please read use Activity Monitor system memory read and determine the amount of RAM is used (OS X Lion mountain and earlier versions). For later operating systems, please read Using Activity Monitor on your Mac.

  • Final Cut Pro - OK for a novice?

I've used iMovie & am only successful with canned trailers.  The iMovie on iPad is more my speed.  I want to make a video that is a little more sophisticated, but don't want to spend a year learning to use the program.  If you have experience with the new Final Cut Pro application, you would recommend it for a novice?

You can do a very sophisticated work in iMovie.

If iMovie is not what you need, download the trial version of X FCO. It has an interface and a workflow similar like iMovie.

If you don't try FCP X, I suggest you spend a few hours reading on the fundamentals or the display on video tutorials available on the Web. The application has undergone much development in three years and more, so make sure that your source material is based on 10.1 or higher.

    Good luck.

I'm a novice so keep things simple: I'm freeing disk space: I installed a Service Pack 2 for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 and also a Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2. Do I need these two?... the 3.0 and 2.0. Here are the 2 biggest programs. Also, do I need something called Adobe reader? ..... The 4th most grand is a 'HP Customer Participation 9.0' program which I cannot remove. In my Add / Remove control panel when I click to delete this nothing happens. I put the disc in which I used when I added a printer. It gives me an option to remove it, but even if I select it, nothing happens. Should I disconnect my printer and start from scratch?

  • Frustrated * Novice

As a novice PC user, I would be grateful advice re - hard drive and Local disk near full capacity, not having the screen freeze and new pages for results

appearing etc. ~ ~ Am I better to buy more memory, download to external memory, or compress photos zip files etc.
    = 4 GB memory capacity, ~ installed memory 1 GB, memory slot 1 = 512 MB, memory slot2 = 512 MB * hard drive = 35,62 used 37.24
    Local disk (c) = 29.88 30,69 GB used capacity;   (d) = 5.75 6.55 GB used capacity.  Cordially Carlc60

Memory has nothing to do with the capacity of the disk.

You need a bigger hard drive. At the very least, an external hard drive for all your data to move.

You are lucky, the computer continues to operate.

Assuming that the cable of the rocket physically fits into this Jack, yes it should be fine.
