  I ran SQLFire installed locally on a system Win 8 with 12 GB of memory...

  I tried to run the comparison on the database of 5 million ranks test; one Oracle 11g one another 1.1 SQLFire (downloaded for evaluation). Just a simple query SELECT on the code.

  Here are the results of the 3 races:

  It is said that sqlfire works 30 times faster than Oracle 11 g all the test shows that sqlfire 3 times slower.

  Looked at the code, and here are a few comments:

  • The code is just do an executeQuery() and do not consume all the results. Most DBs, including Oracle and SQLFire, flow results gradually as they are consumed and executeQuery() by itself will probably not do much of the work in this case. For a meaningful comparison, the code should consume all results in Oracle and SQLFire (attention: it can take a lot of time with this large number of results). Please update that the look of numbers like for you code as below:

  • The code executes the query "SELECT COLUMN1, COLUMN2, Column3 FROM table1" against Oracle but runs 'SELECT id, data, search FOR app.test where (search = 'aA' OR search = 'aa' OR 'AA' = search OR search = 'Aa')' against SQLFire. Is it wanted, because that it is not a fair comparison? I'm assuming that the code runs the same queries against both, then again once need to consume the results completely for a fair comparison. For the request of the latter, you can optimize a lot if you use case-sensitive index added in SQLFire 1.1: vFabric Documentation Center , then the request can be "SELECT id, data, search FOR app.test where search ="aa"
  • SQLFire itself is not well optimized for queries that return a large number of lines for example > 10000 or more lines. It is better optimized for queries returning small average number of lines which, in our view, are much more likely to run in real-world applications. There are still a few models of complex query for which Oracle can do better, but for current releases, we target the most common query patterns. In future releases, we will close the gaps in other areas. That said, we really wanted more on queries that run evil in SQLFire.
  • Another point of difference in the small benchmarks is that SQLFire is a java engine runs first few queries slower than hotspot JIT comes into play, so in general, you will see the first operations of thousand being slower that a server has just started. Real-world applications will be won't on the first operations bit, so it might be preferable to a cue point ignore first few results in a freshly started cluster (or if it a long run cluster, then it's not bad).
  • Finally, the mentioned comparison is made reference to update the PTAC (the one without any limitation of operations) that contains a mixture of queries during each transaction than most close as possible to the real-world applications and updates. It is in such a mixed load that SQLFire really shines more traditional DBs.

  Since yesterday, I have my NB again at home and so far, I'm happy with it!

  It has a processor M760, with 2 GHz, 100 GB HDD, FSB 533 and such - but it is slower than my old Tecra 8000 with PII and 366 MHz with only 8 GB of HARD drive.
  Y at - it a tip or something I should fix, or is it quite normal when there is now software for nearly 10 GB (nothing special, just the software more pre-installed desktop, antivirus and internet, no games) on this subject?

  This means that you have tested the laptop under Win XP?

  How did you install the Win XP? Have you installed using AHCI mode (in BIOS) or you switch to compatible mode?

  By using the compatibility mode that HARD drive could run slower and this could affect the performance of the operating system.

  Solution: You must install the Win XP in AHCI mode. I think the laptop supports the AMD chipset and the required drivers are therefore part of the ATI graphics chip.
  Download the graphics driver, choose the drivers SATA and include it in the Win XP disc using nLite application. nLite is free and all details can be found in the internet.

  If you have the same processor, the same amount of ram, same brand, model, same installation then everything should be the same.
  What do you mean "more frequently" unfortunately I don't speak your language to that effect, I can't read the text on your image.
  If you test the speed of the machine to be sure to use the same utility (benchmark).

  as a first step, you can try to change the hard drive and see if there is no change. If it's a software problem, it should appear on the other machine as well when changing the hard drive.

  Do you have more details on the hard disk that you purchased? These can be signs that the drive is defective and fails.

  I installed Windows 7 x 64, (given that some experts advised it instead of x 86 for me!). But this version is slower than the previous one (7 x 86). Why?
  PS: 1 - the applications are the same for both.

  STOP THINKING LOT

  I agree with most of the responses seen above and actually works to understand that the ASO procedural process Calc uses during execution of their work.  This will help us all understand what kind of scripts will be quick and that are frighteningly slow.

  But, my first suggestion seeing most of the manuscripts I am presented with is: why are you using a calc script at all?  Calc scripts are often used when there is no higher level subtotals.  Well, they are always available to ASO.  The way I see it is calc scripts are really necessary when new data of level 0 must be generated and rolled up.  Or in the simple case of copies of data.

  Currency conversion is where they are most often used.  I can't convert each of the 5mm values that contribute to a higher level of $100 mm in order to convert $100 to 91,882,223 euros.  And, often copies of data are not really necessary, especially "real."  Conceivably contours where the plans and forecasts are dynamically seeded with latest figures real or actual same prerequisite.

  So look hard at your old practices first and Rob it of your scripts, anything that can be written as a successful formula of Member.  If nothing else the code remaining will most likely run faster.

  Note: Calc script processing involves the internal tree in which each dat file is organized.  I encourage anyone with an overview of this structure to communicate with me and maybe we can share observations.

• Slower than other computers on the wireless network

  I get a download speed that is slower than the other two laptops using my wireless network. I have 20 MB broadband and get ~ 3Mbps when I test the speed. Usual maximum download speed is 12-15 Mbps for other laptops. Download speed (~ 1 MB/s) and service effiency (92%) are the same I have connect directly or connect wirelessly.
  I plugged directly on the wide-band receiver and speed was ~ 12 Mbit/s, then there is a problem with the wireless connection.
  I ran diagnostics using Intel PROSet and there seems not to be problems. I can't understand why the download speed is stuck around 3 Mbps. Any ideas?

  I'm used to paint by clicking quickly drops alt eyepieces and paint in quick succession. Its been my method of paint on all the photoshop to CS4, I just moved to CS6 and a very annoying bug prevents me from doing this effectively.
  When eyedropping there will be a small delay after selecting the color where, if I click again to paint I will get sound windows burst like it was currently impossible to paint. If I wait half a second after picking, I can paint well, but this slight delay is enough to drive me crazy and really slow me down since I do, I don't know, 2000 + brush STROKE / day. No idea what causes the pipette to be slower than before? I disabled the color ring which was new to me, but that didn't fix it.

  I think that I found a solution to the question of drops eyepieces.  He solved the problem in my case, I hope that it will work in your case also.  It ends up being a conflict of Windows and is not a problem with Photoshop... Sorry Adobe.
