G10-120: Player of Qosmio in Italy

Hi all
I'm Italian and I have a qosmio G10-120: qosmio player is available on this subject? Toshiba support (!) sometimes no, sometimes said yes...
Is there some Italian users who can help me?

Hello

I'm not Italian, but AFAIK all Qosmio units have a Qosmioplayer. There is only one difference. If the Qosmio unit has a TV tuning it is possible to watch TV using Qosmioplayer without booting the operating system. Without a TV tuner units also have Qosmioplayer but you can use it to listen to or watch DVD movies without booting the operating system of the music.

If you want to buy a please to meet all the information from your dealer.

    Hi quer

As far as I know the HARD disk (by Qosmio G10 first HARD drive) at least 100 MB of free space must be available. This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated. Can you please try again but this time on the first HARD disk?

Partition magic is the ideal program to prepare the HARD disk for Qosmio player installation. Please let us know if there is some success.

  • Language of Qosmio Player on Qosmio G10

    Hello

I have a small problem 2 weeks ago, I was in Paris where I buy a G10 to a hypermarket of the Fnac. When I arrived home I reinstall windows because it was in french but I'm not able to find a Qosmio CD player English throughout the pack. Is it possible to download the iso image somewhere to be able to reinstall Qosmio player in English?

    Hello

Sorry, I must say that, as I know the different models vary by country! At the Qosmio, which is very important because you have different standards of television in Europe. If a French machine couldn't work (like TV) in other countries.

As far as I know that it is not possible to change the recovery to a Service partner CD without losing the original CD.

Sorry, but I don't know much about the Qosmio player, but be careful with the update!

    Bye and happy new year!

  • Qosmio F20 - player question Qosmio

    Hello

I am the owner Toshiba Qosmio F20 and recently decided to install xubuntu 9.10 Linux. After installation, I could no more my Qosmio player and TV tuner. So I decided to recover Windows with the recovery DVD and erased the HARD drive. Now, I have a fresh windows XP install but when I press the button player Qosmio I get Windows media player and when I press the TV button I get winDVR program.

How can I get Qosmio player work? What I need to use the recovery CD or I have just reset the functions of the multimedia keys? Thanks in advance!

If I understand you right, you have not yet installed Qosmioplayer.

If I remember well with Qosmioplayer Qosmios come with a disc extra Qosmioplayer facilities.
As a first step, you must install Qosmioplayer and recovery media using the operating system provided.

  • Question about increasing the size of the partition of the Qosmio Player on Qosmio G-series

How can I increase the size of partition Qosmio Player?

Well, the Qosmio Player is installed separately on a second partition.
I use a program 3rd party like Partition Magic 8 to create and manage partitions on the HARD disk.

You can try this software to increase the size of the partitions, but I don't know if the Qosmio Player will still work after the change of size m.

After replacing the card mother a Qosmio G10-120 original Win Xp MCE with the official update (FC43S1 A5A001749010 P000454980 jury), some problems have arisen:

    1. second HARD drive internal no more seen.

I m wondering how you did update the information in the DMI?
As far as I know that the Toshiba authorised service provider is able to update information DMI as the model name, version number, etc. using utilities and special tools.

I googled for the motherboard part number, you have deposited in your original thread, and it seems that this motherboard has been developed the Qosmio F15 series.

I downloaded the recovery cd of qosmio F10 and G10/G20, player recorded on a CD and installed successfully selection mode [1]. Now, I don't know how to activate the qosmio player? Help, please?

    Thank you

    Good day

It's so old phone model and I m wondering you installed Win7 on it, but if it works well, it's really cool.

I do not remember how it exactly works with Qosmioplayer but it is described in the document of the user s manual to check first: http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/userman-en-20071026083641.zip

I hope that you have installed Qosmioplayer correctly. It should be installed on unallocated 200 MB of free space on the HARD drive.
Qosmioplayewr has nothing to do with the OS and it is the small application based on Linux to watch TV, movies on DVD or CD listening without booting the operating system.

Hi, I have a WME Quosmio G20-111, after a hard drive, toshiba support center evolution (disc hard bone) in Italy has reinstalled the WME but whenever I try to use the Media Center pc crash and show me a white screen. After several phone call they told me that the problem is that they don't update quosmio drive drivers?
    I'm desperate, any suggestions?

    Hello

Well, as far as I know that the Qosmio Player has been installed on the partition hidden on the new laptop, but perhaps the ASP is not install this application after replacing HARD drive.

But I do not understand why the missing Qosmio Player should have a bad influence on the media library? MC is a Microsoft program that is part of the Windows XP MCE. Player of Qosmio is an invention of Toshiba and should have nothing to do with the MCE.

However, you can try to install the Qosmio Player and then try to recover the entire operating system with the recovery CD Toshiba original delivered.

    Maybe it helps.

    Hello

As far as I know the device must be supplied with recovery CD or DVD player and Qosmio recovery media. If you n t have these media, so you should contact Toshiba service in the country where you bought the laptop.

  • Qosmioplayer installation procedure

    Hi Forum users,.

Any of you have experience with installing Qosmioplayer? Is it mandatory to set up or prepare the HARD disk for intallation Qosmioplayer? How can I do?

It will be very useful if someone can give specific explanations about his.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

There may well be other ways to install the player, but the methods below worked for me. The installation can be tricky because Toshiba uses a partition 'hidden' for the player. In some countries, the Qosmio laptop is sold without the TV tuner, so the Qosmio Player is not installed. Therefore, this 'hidden' partition must be created by the recovery of the Qosmio player CD.

As much as I know the Qosmio player should settle on the space not partitioned at the end of the HARD drive. This free (unpartitioned) space capacity must be at least 100 MB. The best way to create this free space is to use a tool like Partition Magic Partition. Partition Magic is a tool very simple to use and very powerful. You will need to reduce the size of the last partition of the HARD drive at least 100 MB. Make sure this unpartitioned free space is created at the end of the HARD drive.

After the creation of the free HARD disk space, start the unit with the recovery of the Qosmio player CD by pressing 'C' on the keyboard at startup. Then Qosmio player will be installed on a partition hide on the HARD drive. Moreover, this hiden partition may not recognized by Windows XP or Partition Magic disk tool.

The other way to install the drive, I tried once, is first install Qosmio player since the recovery CD of the Qosmio player on a free HARD drive with no partitions without BONES, nothing. The CD is bootable and when you start the notebook the C button press to boot from the CD/DVD. For a new installation, select option 1. After a few minutes, installation procedure is completed.

After that, I installed OS using the recovery DVD and selecting the Expert mode option. In expert mode, it is possible to choose the partition on which the recovery file must be installed. If the HARD drive has no partition, the recovery utility will generate a. The size of this partition can be adjusted. The field size is marked, simply insert the size in MB.

Finally, re-run the recovery of the player CD Qosmio i.e. make a re-install, in order to restore order to start player Qosmio and the Windows XP operating system.

I hope it works for you, for me, now I can watch DVD movies, but I'll have to wait for the TV ENSA is release in my country.

    until...

  • Qosmio G10-133 - Install Qosmio Player and using the recovery disk

    Hi again.

My g10-133 was the mother of uypgraded installed by Toshiba that there are back and forward in his first year with problems of graphics chip, so they installed the motherboard with the 6200 chip chart.

Until very recently, I installed Windows XP to one of my dead computers that I've ever had anywhere with my original recovery qosmio disc such that it has been damaged. I recently bought an other G10 as I wanted to replace the keyboard and display and it came with disks,

I put in a raw player. I used the recovery of the Qosmio player disc, and this indicates that it is complete. I then installed the Toshiba Recovery disk that has Windows MCE on it. (I have now three original copies of the present). But when windows go to start, the computer gets past the Bios and then quickly goes to the blue screen of death... I tried to use break so that I can read this, but it does not work. I tried more than a windows disk, but not joy. I also had special instructions for Toshiba, which has the Qosmio updater on him, and also another drive which has some additional drivers.

So far, I've tried all sorts and whenever I go to start the laptop, it crashes. The Toshiba recovery disc has two methods that an automatic and a step forward on (which I don't have a clue how to use). The automatic, which does not implement the normal windows installation, but evokes a Toshiba says... and it goes from 0% to 100% and ends each time.

If I use my Windows XP disk from another pc it install fine. and the laptop is fine until it reaches download Windows SP3, which seems to slow everything down.

I would like to install the Qosmio to style factory if pos.

What you need to help your service provider which has replaced the motherboard. A long time ago I heard talking of this and what I know is that the machine must be ready for use: This means service must update the BIOS, verify compatibility of memory, RAID functions are not the same, Bios, EC/KBC and DMI must be updated and rewritten. The laptop owner must be willing to work with new hardware components.

If I m remembering well this new mainboard has different chipset and recovery image that you are trying to install has really bad drivers inside. With other words: after the Exchange system motherboard drivers and the Qosmio Player require an update.

You know the whole process is a bit complicated, but, as far as I know, Toshiba service provider must send you instructions for Qosmioplayer update and instructions for the update tool.

At the moment I can't help you. Please call again and ask for help. If you will not get any help it let us know.

  • Qosmio player works only on my G10

I have a problem with the qosmioplayer on my Qosmio G10.

When powered on the machine boots qplayer but then crashes. I get a still corrupt green screen and the unit doesn't respond to any entry (even the power button - I have to hold it down for several seconds to switch off).

Previously, I was able to reinstall the qplayer software using a cd created from the downloadable .iso from this site. Now, when I try this method, I get a message saying "recovery is
not supported on this system "."

I have a feeling I have to reinstall everything using dvd shipwreck recovery. My fears are based?

    Hello

If there is no success to reinstall Qosmioplayer in my opinion, you should back up all your data and install the unit using the OS recovery DVD and restore for Qosmioplayer installation CD. On this way the unit will be clean installed and there should not be any problem.

I found an interesting topic on installing Qosmioplayer. If you want you can check it out on http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2455&messageID=6998#6998

    Hello

It seems that all 3rd party applications could have a bad influence on the reader.
It happens with a new OS installed since the Toshiba Recovery CD?

Additional access properties of disc (right click) and check the recording tab. The engraving option must be enabled.
