G60-244dx: family for Vista Edition recovery disk
The hard drive in this laptop is quite dead. I replaced the hard drive, but the product key of Windows Vista is not readable. I searched for a way to order media to recover for it with no luck. I just really want to replace the media so that I can reinstall the operating system. Could someone give me direction on this subject?
Hello:
If HP no longer sells the recovery disc for your model, then you can always get a game from this provider no HP on the link below.

'Product Key' is probably what you mean.
You buy it in a store by itself (Windows Vista Home Basic which is) or is it installed on your computer?
If you bought autonomous - it is the case of DVD that the DVD is in. If it came pre-installed, it is on a sticker pasted on your machine.

Hello world! I hope someone can help.
Can I use my Windows 7 Edition recovery disks Home Premium for a clean install on my old Windows XP computer?
If this is a recovery from a different computer disk, you are unable to do so.
In addition, if you were to format the computer, you will need to have a way to reinstall a copy of Windows with a genuine license.
The best option if you need Windows 7 Home Premium is to buy a genuine license then you can make a custom (new installation).

Disks for Vista Edition OS Home Premium x 64
Hello
I have two HP computers, a dx7500 and a Pavilion a6512p. The dx7500 came with Vista (Business 32-bit) OS disks, but the a6512p did not come with a set of disks of BONE. Is it possible to buy, HP, a set of operating system from Vista x 64 Home Premium DVD?
Please note that I am not looking to "restore" disks, or "recovery" disks - I would like to get (if that is possible) a set of actual operating system installation DVD for my a6512p, just as I have for the dx7500.
Thanks much for any help you could give.
Hello:
You can do your own Vista disc and use the product key to activate the installation.
If you are in a fault light but rewarding you can do yourself if you can read your product key of Vista on the PC of 25 characters.
If you can read your 25-character product key MS, you can make your own Windows Vista installation disc. You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.
Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."
The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.
The other thing I noticed is on the 4th page, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in me, and then other codes already filled in.
When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.
I selected no, make the ISO file.
It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.
I tested both of them one my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, worked flawlessly.
When you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.
After you install Vista successfully, you can then install the drivers for your PC and driver page support.

When I put the calendar for defragmentation, good times are displayed. When I log out and then log back on "next regular time" is listed as EVER. I can't seem to accept the most updated schedule. When I google this question, I see that it is a common problem for owners of Vista Home Premium
Hello
Run the sfc/scannow command.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions
If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation
read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation

and also read this about Defrag Vista:
in vista, the defragmentation process works silently in the background
Unfortunately in vista it does not provide a GUI to show progress as it did in xp
to do this, you'll need 3rd party defrag programs

Help, please
Hi Michael,
You're talking about recovery disk from the manufacturer created from the computer recovery partitiion or are you talking about a generic recovery for repairs disk (making it impossible to reinstall the operating system)?
If the recovery disk from the manufacturer, please contact technical support from the manufacturer for assistance that the process of creating a disk of the partition recovery is their process and not Microsoft and varies by manufacturer and sometimes even my computer within this manufacturer model. We do not know how to deal with each type or how to handle a problem such as you experience with this process - even if we knew that the manufacturer make and model specific to computer which you did not (but with which we might be able to provide specific links to the manufacturer).
If you mean a recovery for the repair disk, then try using the following to do an and see if it works any better than any method that you use: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/141820-create-recovery-disc.html.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

my hard drive went out on me completely. reads as 0 bytes. lost everything on it. a system recovery will work on a cool new hard drive?
Yes, the recovery disks installing Vista and original software/drivers on a new hard drive. Just be sure to get a hard drive at least as large as the original capacity. It may be big, but not small ability more. I wouldn't go with one of the new large capacity hdd format advanced however.

I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.
This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

OK, I got Windows Vista Home Basic on my computer and my hard drive crashed while I do not have the recovery partition. The key is always on the side of my computer. I wonder how I can get a basic Windows Vista Home Edition installation disc without having to purchase and any other key.
You don't have to buy another license.
How to get Vista recovery Media.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed. There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Need for a gateway recovery disk. Acer doesn't want my money...
I need a recovery for a gateway computer disk... I have down loaded find it my system on Acer website program... It funds the numbers what the site does, but when I get them, it's not find system. I use both program Acer and still no luck... I don't under stand why the site says all gateways, but can not find mine... Why Acer doesn't want my money? I'm back with money in hand. Acer said that we have what you want... but then cannot make a website to get my money back... It's simple stuff... I have a gateway GZ7112. Its Vista Home premium. Web site says available on the Gateway and eMachines PCs. Websites said, one type of media to eRecovery is available per unit this is the first time that I need one, and, and Vista is always legitimate to Ms... Come on guys... do you want my money or not? Laughing out loud
Hi livesabbath,
Unfortunately, we are only able to provide recovery media for a certain period of time as such. In this case, I confirmed that we don't have loads of software units originally shipped with Windows Vista.
You can look into the purchase of a copy of the retail sales of Windows or watch in the variants of linux. Of course, linux has a curve much higher education, if you have not used before.
