Hello
Battery is ok (and a very good one 12 cells), but the power adapter is not. Original is with the part number: 613152-001.
Other adapters are in the table of compatibility here.
What you have now is for the other models. The full list is here.

I have a HP G61 laptop, and I have trouble with the key next to the SHIFT key on the left. Instead of capitalizing a letter I press the-key instead. Can I disable this key? I can't use the SHIFT key on the right side. Why did chose to do the small left SHIFT key. What is the purpose of this key. or------?
Please help thanks.
Hello
I used this program on several PCs to remap the keys.
You can make the key also be shift key or any other key you want.

This isn't HP software, but I used it before me to remap the keys.

I'm looking for a replacement to confirm, the question of the video card for my laptop and availability, the cheaper cost.
All diagnostics have been run, several times to determine the BIOS flash County white screen problem light and all other suggestions run, including an additional monitor, without success.
Hard drive, hard drive, everything works, or to her sounds less as it is tempting to work as on-site necessary starting point, just a white screen. Points of final diagnoses to the video card as the culprit?
With all the new systems available around $300, would like to know if it is the video card and if it is a value of the correction, or just buy a whole new system?
G61-511WM
Windows 7
Hello, @mechanic673
If everything (all the troubleshooting and diagnosis) is oriented toward the Videocard is a problem, then it is most likely is. It would be a starting point, if you are looking to get the laptop working again.
There isn't a way to know 100%, if the video card is indeed the problem. I say this as this seems to be the answer you are looking for, a guarantee. That, I can't provide as there's a chance something else could be the problem, but again, this is where you were directed by troubleshooting. Replacement of the card may very well be the solution. At this point, it's really an appeal from the judgment for you to do. You pay for the graphics card and try it? Or did you just buy a new laptop. That can be made for you, I can only say that the information provided (read through the old post on this) points to the graphics card.
I say well that, if you are looking to buy a laptop in the range of $300 (as you mentioned it), keep in mind what you want than this to do. If you are pregnant run heavy apps or games, a computer laptop $300 will not cut it. You would look at the $700 or more depending. Now, if everything you need is a graphics card and it runs you need, then it might be less expensive.
I hope this gives you an overview on the course of action to take for the question. If you have other questions about this, you can always contact support to see if they have anything to add, or what kind of assistance they could provide.

HP G61 LAPTOP - how to restore factory settings?
I put my HP G61 to my daughter and I would not restore factory plug removes all files. How can I go about it?
Hello
If the Partition Recovery on the laptop is Ok, try the following. Close Notepad, and then further press f11 as soon as you press the power button to see if it will start the Recovery Manager - if so, you can use this to put the laptop 'factory State '.
Another option, if you have created your set of recovery discs, is to insert the first disc and then restart the computer to boot from the disk and start the process of recovery in this way.
If none of the application above, you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below.
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143
If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the United States, contact HP here.
If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

Pavilion DV6449 hard drive for laptop compatibility
I have a HP Pavilion DV6000 (p/n: GA456UA #ABA, serial number DV6449us) for portable computer without a hard drive. I happened to have a Toshiba 500 GB SATA 5400 tr/MIN used available hard drive and I would like to know if the HARD disc is compatible with your laptop. I asked computer two shops and the other says that the laptop has been limited by the BIOS with a maximum of 200 GB hard drive; However, other store said that the laptop can take a larger size of the HARD drive. Could someone clarify this for me?
If the drive is compatible, I would also like to know what are the procedures would get Notepad running after the installation of the HARD disk, and if I need to update the BIOS? Should I format the HARD drive? When should I install the OS?
In addition, I don't have a HP re - install the disk to reinstall the operating system. Can I use my another PC temporarily reinstall drive (Vista Home Premium 32 - bit) to test if the laptop works properly before purchasing a license of the OS? I'll be very grateful if anyone can list what steps I must take to lift the laptop up and running.
Paul:
We have done it.
I Redid the iso via USB and this time it worked on the first try. I got the installed vista32. And I'm updating service pack now.
Thank you very much for your patient and your advice.

How can I restore my G61 laptop to a smaller drive?
Tried to replace my hard drive of 250 GB with a 240 GB sdd using the restore disks that I created when I have my laptop. The only option available in the Recovery Manager is resetting Factoy; Microsoft System Restore and recovery system are both greyed out. When I select Factory Reset I get an error stating "this computer's hard drive is smaller than the original shipped the drive. The recovery process may not continue. Why can I not just a system recovery?
Hello:
I don't think you can do a system restore for the same reason that you can't do a recovery using recovery disks.
There is a solution for you if you can read the product of 25-character windows product key 7 on the bottom of your laptop.
If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.
Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.
The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

G61 laptop keyboard problem - functions replacing does not properly
I had a problem with my notebook G61 since the day wherever I got it almost a year and a half.
Like a fool, I put with it up to now that it is out of warranty, but she finally got me aggravated to the point where it is either fix it, or throw the danged through the wall thing.
The keys of this system have several functions like virtually every keyboard, and this one has a number of keys with blue alternative functions.
My problem is that these substitute functions will be activated spontaneously, I guess by me when I inadvertently hit two keys at once and turn them on, but I was never able to find the combination to toggle them.
"When they are active, I lose the function of principle of these keys, such as?, @, ', etc, and I can't create documents until I reboot, of course to lose the document to the activities.
There is not even a mention of the blue replacement functions in the laughable excuse for a manual that comes with the box, nor have I could find no reference to them on the site of 'Support' HP.
I was pathetically grateful if someone could tell me please what keys activate and deactivate blue replacement key functions.
Thank you!
I have an answer!
I spoke with someone at HP Support today, and that's pretty much exactly what I thought.
I was inadvertently hit a keystroke that activates the blue keys.
The combination of keys is "Ctrl + left shift + right SHIFT", which turns on and the blue of the keys... Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee etc.
Strike again and you get your appropriate keys, /? / ? / ? / ? "" "", etc., return.
Woo Hoo!

can I use the system disks I bought with my hp g61 laptop, restart / reinstall / recover the computer laptop hp g61 of my friend? is there a problem with the product key? Thank you
If they are the same g61 model numbers, then Yes you can. With regard to the product key from the recovery media uses a generic HP product key and you should not need to enter a key. If it does not prompt you to a key, you must use your product key from friends.
