• Portege A600 Webcam software crashes when changing the settings with the sound muted

  I have a problem with XP Toshiba factory build for Portege A600 and Portege R600.
  If you try to change the sound properties of the Webcam using the Camera Assistant Software with the sound muted, the camera wizard app will hang & Windows fails to shut down or even stop. The only way to stop is pressed the power button until the machine stops.

  So far, the only solution I can come to is to increase the volume to zero rather than using the mute box. The problem is if you forget and mute rather than turning down and then try to change the sound properties, its "game over." In addition, it is not really satisfactory because politics is to keep the machines muted until the sound is required.

  4) click the audio settings tab

  That of all, suspended. The Camera Assistant Software version is 1.7.209.0807L which seems to be the last being available for download on the websites of Toshiba.

  I n t have a Portege but U400 with pre-installed and integrated webcam Win XP.
  I installed a clean Win XP and then upgraded the XP to the last State and installed all the drivers available from the Toshiba page and possible.

  I followed the steps in your message and I have to say that I didn t notice strange questions, software webcam still works correctly

  I put t know what could be the problem, but I recommend that you check the audio driver to update maybe you can use the Realtek page
  Also, check if the BIOS has been updated to the current state and if your Windows XP is up to date.

  You can see a webcam in Device Manager? He listed as a devie marked yellow exclamation or unknown?

  Also check the settings in the BIOS (BIOS-> advanced-> configuration of the system) if the webcam is enabled.

  I put t know what model phone you have and what OS you use, but all Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the European driver Toshiba page and if your laptop supports the internal webcam then you could download page of the Toshiba driver webcam software.

  If nothing happens if you start the webcam software, you should try to reinstall the complete webcam software. It's pretty easy, because you can download it on the Toshiba site:
  http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

  But before installing the new version, you must delete the old first and then reboot the laptop. Now, you can install the latest version.

  In addition, it would be interesting to know if you can see yellow exclamation in Device Manager.

Whenever a screen that is supposed to appear and ask you what parts you want to uninstall tries to ride, flashes briefly and then disappears, leaving me unable to uninstall. I tried the fix from Microsoft, but it without success. All parts of the program that I finally tried to do an unintall advanced disappeared (I think) except the software part. Help!   I am new to dell community and this forum. I had a little problem with my M18x laptop after formatting and loading Win 7 Ultimate. I can't find the driver/software that will allow me to use my webcam.

  I can't find it on the dell Web site or on the resourse disc came with the laptop. I made an account of dell and I can't find it under "My downloads" as well.   Just post this answer that I had this problem the other day where I couldn't see the dissemination of the Webcam in the list of devices etc..
  In this case you follow the steps below:

  Step 1: Press and hold down the Fn key and then press F9 (the button with the small camera on the subject).

  Job done. You should now see imaging devices in your device manager, and if you were opening the software Dell Webcam your face should suddenly appear on the screen...  Enjoy.
