Games for Windows Live (GFWL) log: error 80131509

Problem: Unable to connect to GFWL

Symptom: Immediate sign in error displaying the error code;

«To connect error»

Unable to connect. Please try again later.

Code: 80131509 "

At a couple of old OS (Windows 7 Pro x 64), with all updates.

What I tried:

-Sign up for Live Online - (both) the accounts are audited and functional

-Disabled Firewall (Windows)

-Disabled the antivirus (Avast)

-Change in router

-Open ports in routers - 53, 88, 80, 443, TCP UDP 3074 times & (53 for XBL)

-Signed by using the Xbox 360 (works fine)

-Uninstalled and reinstalled GFWL (the two v3.3)

-Update uninstalled KB977377

About the KB977377 update, I read this article and did as instructed. (Modified register) without success.

KB977377 is known to block any worldly SSL/TLS between the Clients and the web communication.

This update is now on my computer, with chain put to update the registry. I have to be, because the problem persists or the other.

Problem seems to affect also the MP in GTA IV. Cannot connect to the Social Club. (App for you put online). GTA IV is a GFLW game.

In addition, I have installed Steam. All my games GFWL shortcuts are now in place. Steam works very well.

BioShock 2 (also GFWL) works very well.

Mutual for all games, is I'm easily connected Live in the game. Problem is only recording in the client itself.

Help!

Gee... Acquired embarrassment. If you get stuck as if I were; Check your TIME SETTINGS.

  • Games for Windows Live (GFWL) on Windows 8

    Hello

I'm under 64-bit Windows 8 and we found that all games that use GFWL will not work. However, each game does something differently.

-The games also running through Steam do not work either.

-For a single match, GFWL does not work when the game starts so I can't save it.
-For another game, GFWL runs, but then crashes once I try to do anything in this regard, such as sign or view my account - no error message.

I looked on the forums and have tried everything my machine GFWL wiping and reinstalling, updating my drivers video and nothing seems to work!

Because if it is a Microsoft product I find it quite incredible that I have so many problems.

    Thank you.

  • Games For Windows Live (800488EB error Code)

I have the version of GTA4 PC (bought via steam) and this game like many others use the Games for Windows Live client.  The game worked fine and online (via my gamertag xbox live) for about half a year now until 2 months ago.  After you download a GFWL update for their client, I was unable to connect to my account via GFWL.  In game, just to say that my gamertag did not exist, which wasn't true because I could sign in here, xbox.com and Windows Live site.  When I tried to connect using the GFWL market he gave me the error code 800488EB authentication failed. Can you help me please someone, I would really like to play my games again online.

  • Cannot install Games for Windows Live

I need to install Games for Windows Live to play several games on this laptop.

When I run gfwlivesetup, all downloads very well and gets to the point where it installs GFWL and I get the following error every time:

"An error occurred during the installation of assembly ' Microsoft.VC90.CRT, version ="9.0.21022.8", publicKeyToken ="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"processorArchitecture ="x 86", type ="win32 "'. See Help and Support for more information. »

Looking through several log files, I discovered the error to be (0x8007078f) code that relates to, "connection failed: the machine you log on is protected by an authentication firewall." The specified account is not allowed to authenticate on the machine. »

So two things come to mind. The account is authenticated and firewall. Well, my account is an administrator account and right click on gfwlivesetup and choose "run as Administrator" does not change a thing. Well, screw the router, I just take the right out of my router modem jack and plug rather the ethernet of my laptop, without going through all the ports that can be blocked. The only firewall that is up and running (the only one installed) is the MS OS firewall, so let's just turn this baby off and still the same error.

So if we ignore all the error code (0x8007078f) completely, then we can treat the error originally presented... I see basically: processorArchitecture = "x 86", type = "win32".

Well, I'm running a Windows 7 64 - Bit, and my processor is a Core i7-740... I am out of the resources here. I have seen many people having the same problem or similar (Google reveals a lot). So if someone is willing to stick with me throughout this, I intend to see resolved (at least for me). I only pray that as I did not reinstall Win 7 or make repairs. They do not understand all of these DVDs with the laptop.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Games for Windows Live does not open

Hello. I had the Client Games for Windows LIVE and the market installed on my PC for some time now (several years). I played many games, such as Halo 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Batman: Arkham City, etc., which require this piece of shit software. However, recently, I've been making mistakes where I can't run Arkham City in what appears to be an error related to the GFWL client. Of course, when I tried to open market Games for Windows LIVE, I see the splash screen, but after a few seconds it disappears and the program does not start. I tried to reinstall both on the market and the client, each instance of the .NET Framework and Bing Bar, but also reset Internet Explorer and run CCleaner registry cleaning, all to nothing is helping. I paid for all of these games and I'm not going to sit idly by because of a strange problem with a piece - of-* DRM software. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I thought it would be more simple, but apparently, these errors can be caused by multiple scenarios
Also, you can check your crash logs in %localappdata%\Microsoft\GFWLive\ I think to see if they show you something different from the error you get

  • Games for windows live cannot connect

Games for windows live cannot connect to the internet, this problem started last week when I tried to play Dawn of war 2 online. At that time I was running Vista Ultimate 64 bit and after exhausting all existing boards on this site and many others, I decided to completely format my PC and start again with Windows 7 64 bit, but I have the same problem exact. only now my profile is no longer stored on my PC because I formatted so I can still play offline.

After trying to connect, it says "the profile could not be connected to LIVE. "There may be a network problem or the Windows Live ID service may not be available" option on the GFWL client network status says:

    NIC: Local 2 network connection

    Internet IP address: not connected

    Local IP address: 192.168.2.9:0

    System link address: 192.168.2.9:3074

    Account PC: PC.000000000000

    UPnP: Not signed in

    PC ID: 0X10DF99910D0A00E8

I have made the following recommended to others in similar situations, has passed all the recommended ports (TCP 53,80,443,3074) and UDP 53,88,3074, installed and running Windows fix it, Microsoft.Net 4.0 update, installed and run Winsockfix, disabled windows firewall (I have not installed any other protection software yet) compatible UPnP on my router, changed my static connection type and still no progress. My router is supported and I am in a country supported direct (UK). This my independent being, but I also experience certificate errors when you use Microsoft sites, which is strange as I said that the Web site of the company that developed the program that I use is dangerous. It's my totally finished in guys any help would REALLY be apreciated. Cheers.

I can't believe ive finally resolved, hours after validation. the button on my motherboard battery had been dislodged and my date and time have been reset in 2009, whenever I stop my PC. everything is working fine now GFWL working and no more certificate errors.

    Thank U.

    Hi D33Viilz,

I found a post on the Games for Windows Live site that has addressed your question.  Here are the steps and the link to the original post:

If you're running Vista, you can not uninstall all .NET Framework before 3.0.

If you haven't already, you will need to download 3.5 SP 1 here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en

If you are running Windows 7, it should have the most recent of the .NET Framework.

Also, I would say that you are using the tool Mod proposed (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301) to completely remove Microsoft Games for Windows LIVE and LIVE Redistributable.

When you have finished using the cleanup utility, check that it has been removed through programs and features.

Restart your PC, and then re-download the newest Client of Games for Windows LIVE here: go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9640147

  • Access my account to Games for Windows - LIVE 3.0

Whenever I try to log in with my account to Games for Windows - LIVE, an error occurs. He said: I can not connect no problem first of all an account. My Xbox.com account, however, is in perfect condition (and it is comprehensive, as well). I really don't know what to do, because when I have access to the link that was suggested by the program (Games for Windows - LIVE), I always get into my page at Xbox.com, but everything goes well with my account here.
The error code is: 80154017 (and I've not found in my research to the Microsoft Web page).
I really hope that this error can be resolved as soon as possible, because most of the games I own use Games for Windows - LIVE to connect online.
My operating system is: Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (32 bit).
    Thank you.

    Hi Redfah,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

It seems that the country in which you are located is not a country supported for LIVE services.

The Games for Windows LIVE service is available only for a limited set of countries.

Unfortunately, if you are not located in one of those, you will not be able to use these services.

A full list of supported countries can be found on the given link:

    http://www.Xbox.com/en-us/live/countries.htm

You can also check with the Xbox support for the updated list of countries.

    http://support.Xbox.com/support/en/us/NXE/contactus.aspx

    You can also check http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/

Hope the information will help. Please post back and we do know.
