Get a value of element of cluster a variant

Hello

I'm trying to get a group of its variant element value

If I look at the alternative indicator, the elements and their values are displayed. However, after getting Cluster Information.vi, which I expect to break up the cluster in its different elements, all I get is the type information, not the value of the element. In other words, looking at the table of elements, all that appears are 0, I expected values and element names.

So my question is, how do I cluster of values of the element?

Thank you

One of my hobbies is flattened function variant String provides the rest string, but it can be worked around with a bit of ugliness.

    In addition, without knowing the name of the element how can I get the value of the second item "5"?

    Trevor

    It is, of course, a matter of Javascript, and the answer is not specific to InDesign, but I think you knew that already.

    The short answer is: you do not have. JavaScript does not have something on the positioning of the members of an object.

    There is no guarantee that b will remain the second element, and there is no way to get the members of an object by a sort of index rather than by their name.

    BTW, you write:

    MyObject = ({a: 3, b:5, c:8})})

    Which is too complex (extra parens) and missing a semicolon from the finish line. It is better written as:

    MyObject = {a: 3, b:5, c:8};

    You can iterate through the names of the keys of myObject, with i in myObject {...}, but still there is no guarantee of order. In ExtendScript, you could use myObject.reflect.properties to return the keys in a table, but you will get some extra junk and it's not really consider good practices to use the objects of reflection in non debug code.

    If you are wanting to do this, you are probably not using objects correctly.

    Can you tell us more about the problem you are trying to solve, please?

  • Cannot get the value of element of disabled text.

    Hi all

    In my form. I have two or three groups of radio and the text element. When I select a radio button I am disable the text element using $x('P1_AX').disabled = true
    This part works fine. But I have a "PL/SQL block anonymous Unconditional ' which takes the value of the disabled and the update in the database.
    The value of the disabled will be void even if I have a value in it. I am able to access this value using javascript. Any help is very appreciated.

    Thank you

    Disabled items are never submitted. Therefore, you can access the item values disabled on the page dealing with the part of a page of the APEX. Your options are to

    (1) enable the item before submitting
    (2) create a hidden item coming from the same source as the element off and use the element hidden in your post submit pl/sql process

  • Get the value of an enum as a Variant text

    I want to use a group of settings with which sent to another application via DDE link.  The label of each control of the cluster is sent with the value as text.  Using an array of references to the command I get the Label.Text property for each control in the cluster.  The value is presented as a Variant, so I have to convert the data into a string according to the type of data.  I got this connected to a business structure that could convert to a string data type and the data type of the ClassName property.  It works very well for the (trivial) chain, Digital and the ring but I cannot work out how to get the string value of an Enum.  I would have thought that it would be possible that the string value is a part of the data as shown but the picture indicator of variants.

    I would appreciate help with this.

  • Get the value Enum Text of a control Variant

    Hello

    I was wondering what is the best way to get the text of a Enum value control variant.

    What I have is a Subvi, which has a variant as an input control and this VI is designed to read all that is the variant control and write it to a file. I have been using GetTypeInfo VI for what data type is Variant and then on that basis using the variant of the data function to extract the right data. It worked well for most types of data I need.

    However for Enums while I can quite easily read the numerical value by this method, I can't seem to get the text on their part I tried to use the method of the solution posted here , but since my control itself is of type LVVariant I can't to cataloged it or replace it with a more specific class of the Enum. Although when I the LVVariant of the probe or flatten it into a string I can see that it contains all the text data of the enum. What is the best way to get this?

    Any ideas would be appreciated!

    Thank you

    Kewal

    deep in the vilib:

    VariantType.lvlib:GetNumericInfo.vi - takes a variant and returns the array of strings to enum, get the error for the non-numeric values.

  • How to get the value of the global element using javascript or ajax!

    Hello!

    How can I read at global(point application created in the shared components) using ajax or javascript?
    You can imagine that I need to get the value of this element by function as:
    -----
    Function getText() {var itemVal = $x ('MY_GLOBAL_ITEM') .value;}  Return itemVal; }
    -----
    .. .but I can't do it because it is not made to couse of the page it is global element! so, anyone know no work around to do?
    I know that I can make point page and read the value of that, but not what I really need!
    If I have 100 pages and all pages need to use my function, it would take 100 Articles :) - that's why its no good average!

    Please, share your ideas!

    THX

    Rafix,

    You must use a little AJAX to retrieve a request element value. Three steps in this solution. Implementation of a callable JavaScript function, creating an application process on the request and call the JavaScript function with dynamic action.

    1 set up a JavaScript function that can be called by:

    This function calls the process of application level which has a visibility of the element of your application and then returns the value of points.

    Edit your page and JavaScript code according to the code in the 'function and Variable global statement' of your page. You can also add to the model page, that you use, but you also have to encapsulate this code in the script tags.

    getAppItem = function(pItemName){
        var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$v('pFlowId'),'APPLICATION_PROCESS=GET_APP_ITEM',$v('pStepId'));
        get.addParam('x01',pItemName);
        gReturn = get.get();
        get = null;
        return gReturn;
    }

    2. creating an application on request process:

    The application of level process has visibility to your application-level element. It is to retrieve the value of points and it prints the htp buffer. Essentially, this acts as a way to return the values of AJAX calls (the javascript function we set previously);

    go to the shared components > procedures > Create.

    Point process: "We Demand: run this application...". »
    Name: GET_APP_ITEM
    Type: Anonymous PL/SQL block

    declare
       -- get the item name passed into the JavaScript function.
       app_item_name varchar2(30) := apex_application.g_x01;
    begin
        -- print its value to the buffer
        htp.p(v(app_item_name));
    end;

    3. call the JavaScript function with dynamic action:

    The function call allows to specify an application-level element name and have its returned value. The trigger event is specific to what you need, but the action must be of type to run JavaScript code. In my case immediately the value of P1_NUMBER to my value of demand points. This code doesn't have to be in a dynamic action, but it helps to stay organized. you could call it from any script tag.

    $s('P1_NUMBER',getAppItem('MY_APP_ITEM'));

    See you soon,.

  • How to get the value of the element of choice of message in application of process?

    Hello

    In the method of application of the process of the page controller
    I need to get the value of the element of choice of message on the page and then pass the value to am method to call a vo query that requires message value as parameter choice
    I tried

    Weekend OAMessageChoiceBean = (OAMessageChoiceBean) webBean.findChildRecursive ("WkEndList");
    If (weekend! = null)
    System.out.println ("sag down:" + weekend.getValue (pageContext));

    am.invokeMethod ("initQuery", end of week);

    but I'm getting null for the value of the weekend, although the page is shows the values in the drop down.

    Help, please.

    Thank you Gyan,

    I mentioned to use PPR only when the call must be made immediately after the selection of the value.

    If you are looking for value without preconditions,
    GYAN suggested use String WkEndListValue = (String) pageContext.getParameter ("WkEndList");
    You should get the value.

    Thank you

    With respect,

    I need to create a process to insert rows in a relational table, but I do not know how...
    ------------------
    FOR *? *
    LOOP
    INSERT INTO registro_documento (id_reg_documento, id_registro, id_documento)
    VALUES(null,:P4_ID_REGISTRO,???);
    END LOOP;
    ---------------

    How can I get the value of the active element (id_documento) to insert it?

    Thank you!

    Alex

    Hello:

    You can use the apex_util.string_to_table function to retrieve the values of the LOV as shown in the example

    declare
    arr wwv_flow_global.vc_arr2;
    begin
    arr:= apex_util.string_to_table(:P_CHECKBOX_LOV_ITEM)
    for x in arr.first..arr.last loop
    // insert statement
    iNSERT INTO registro_documento( arr(i) ,.........id_reg_documento,id_registro,id_documento)
    end loop;
    end;

  • Get the value of the element for PL/SQL procedure

    Hello, I am very new to apex development, so this is probably a simple question.

    I created a procedure that uses PL/SQL to insert rows in a table. The PL/SQL work correctly when I have to hardcode values. But when I try to get the values of the form elements, the values are not inserted into the table.

    I'm referencing the item using the syntax: nom_element.
    What is the right syntax? Is there anything else I need to do for the element or in the procedure to get the value of the element.

    INSERT INTO SOURCE_ITEM (UNIQUE_ID, ORIGIN, DESTINATION, TECHNIQUE, TEAM, SMB, WATCH_FLAG, PASS_THROUGH_FLAG, DESCRIPTION, LAST_MODIFIED_DATE)
    VALUES
    (: P34_UNIQUE_ID,: P34_ORIGIN_OF_CONTENT_2, 'AAA', 'PLATFORM', ' THE TEAM X "," EMS X ","N","N",: P34_GENERAL_DESCRIPTION, SYSDATE);

    In compiled units, you must use the function of v, for example, v ('P34_UNIQUE_ID').

  • A small Question about getting the value of an element via a variable.

    Hello

    My database is 11 GR 2, form server 10g.

    I have a canvas named canvas14, there is a multi-onglet inside (tab1, tab2).

    In the "Key-Exit" trigger, I would get the name of the current tab and do something then exit_form.

    To get the name of the tab, I used a function as follows.

    FUNCTION getTabName RETURN varchar2 IS

    tp_nm VARCHAR2 (30);

    tp_ID TAB_PAGE;

    tp_lb VARCHAR2 (30);

    BEGIN

    tp_nm: = GET_CANVAS_PROPERTY ('CANVAS14', topmost_tab_page);

    tp_ID: = FIND_TAB_PAGE (tp_nm);

    tp_lb: = GET_TAB_PAGE_PROPERTY (tp_id, label);

    Return tp_lb;

    END;

    Key-release trigger, my share of the code follows.

    v_Name: = getTabName;

    v_item: = ':'. v_Name |'. the ';

    If v_item is not null then

    clear_form;

    on the other

    exit_form;

    end if;

    v_item is: tab1.des now. I want to get the value of: tab1.des.

    How to get the value of v_item, not the variable itself?

    Thanks in advance.

    Phil

    Use NAME_IN with the itemname without the colon as

    value: = NAME_IN ('tab1.des');

  • Getting a value from a text of entry in backing bean element

    I created a component of entering text on a page where I will enter a number, adjustment of Autosubmit as true. ValueChangeListener property is defined as #{test.displayTable} where displayTable is a method defined in managed bean test.

    Now I know to extract the value entered in the text input component by creating a RichInputText variable in the advanced properties.

    But in case the Advanced property is empty, then how I'll be able to recover the value of it? This is the code. I'm not able to get the value entered in the component. I can not even find any method getvalue for her.
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    UIViewRoot root = facesContext.getViewRoot();
    RichInputText inputText = (RichInputText) root.findComponent("it1");  // it1 is the id of the input text component
    System.out.println("inputText: "+inputText);
    On the use of my statement, is out getting generated, whereas I had entered in 90.
    inputText: RichInputText[UIXEditableFacesBeanImpl, id=it1]

    Hello

    Always mention your JDev version.

    If you use a valueChangeListener for the field, you can get the value using valueChagedEvent.getNewValue ().

  • Cannot get the value of the text element

    Hello

    I have a screen in the text field and I'm defining its value via javascript (using $s). If I keep the point as display text (does not save the State), I can see the value set, but get the undefined when I try to access it.
    If, on the other hand, I put it as (State record) I don't even set and get still undefined.

    Can someone please tell me how I can get its value or to register the value provided by the javascript?

    Thank you.
    Andy.

    PS You forgot to mention, I work with Apex 3.2
