Get data center or resource pool by using script vRO

I am trying to build a service plan, but don't want the user to have to enter the information pool or a folder of resources.

How to retrieve the objects as a data center pool or resource using the vRO scripting language?

I'm trying to use var myDatacenters = VcPlugin.getAllDatacenters (); to retrieve a list of data centers to go, but I'm back zero results.

Are there tricks to do this?  Should I connect to vCenter?  VCenter may not communicate with vRO?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I solved this by running a configuration in vRO workflow that adds an instance of vCenter vRO.

    Can Lab Manager 3.0 to create pools of resources of servers and clusters in different data centers as defined by Virtual Center?

    I have two server groups in two different datacenters in Virtual Center, they have both permissions.  Yet, I cannot see the purpose of a data center data center but can see all hosts in ther other data center and assign them to pools of resources.

    When I move a host to a data center that is not working to the data center that works closely with Lab Manager, I am able to see the server and add it as a resource.  It's not ideal because I have the servers geographic location rather than function group.

  • How to get data from an Excel file exist using report generation tools

    I try to use the Excel vi get the data of the report generation tool, but I can't understand how to activate a path can be explored in the right type for the VI.  I tried to use the new Report.vi, but this does not work unless you use a template.  It will not open an existing excel file and make an open report to extract data from.

    Essentially, I have a bunch of excel files that have data in them, and I want a VI allows to analyze the data.  I'm going to pull in all the data directly from the excel file so I don't have to reproscess them all in text so I can use the more standard datasheet live but to convert even the excel file programtically in labview I still need to be able to open the excel file and get the data?

  • How to get data to & gt;. 1 MHz using driver DAQMx in c#?

    Hello

    I use DAQ 6210 with DAQMx in Visual c# 2010.

    Although data acquisition can provide speeds of > 50 MHz but right now I need to program to speed of 1 MHz, initially.

    I created a task with 10000 as clock frequency, with "/ Dev/PFI0" as an external clock. Also, I have increased the size of the buffer to 100000.

    Then I used the timer control .net with interval set to 1 ms and each tick, I've read 1000 samples using the player. ReadMultiSample command.

    Correct me if I'm wrong; I think it would be the 1000 sample samples every 1ms.

    This should give us frequency of 1000 * 1000 = 1 MHz and 100000 samples.

    But this isn't happening, I start the acquisition for a second and I get that ~ 10000 samples.

    I found that the timer ticks only 10 times in 1 second!

    I doubled checked the timer interval value, it has been 1 throughout the program.

    What I'm doing wrong here? I wonder if it is a limitation of the timer control? If this is the case how can I enjoy a very high using libraries DAQMx only sampling frequencies.

    You kindly help me out here?

    Thank you.

    You do not understand basic arithmetic and DAQ hardware, if you have a sample of 10000 samples per second rate and ask for samples of 1000, acquiring prendra.1 second. The software counter is not relevant. Also, you seem to be confused on the sampling frequency and number of samples. If you really need a "frequency" of 1 MHz, which is the sampling frequency, you in the program. If you really want samples 1 million, at a frequency of 10 kHz, it will take 10 seconds to acquire that many samples.

  • Error to remove empty data store - the resource is in use.

    Hello world

    I'm having a problem with the removal of my empty data VMFS3 store I rebooted the host already, but somehow, he's always stuck not asupprimer, can someone help me remove this empty data VMFS3 store please?

    Thank you.

    I like to use the tab 'Maps' to see if any SMV always access the data store.  It is much easier to check the settings for a good number of virtual machines.

    Select the "Maps" tab and just put a check mark in the box for VM to the data store

    Click apply relationships

    If there is no line in the data store to be deleted, it means that a virtual machine is always oriented to the data store.

    If this is the case, change the settings of the virtual machine so it does not more point to this data store.

    How can I get that information, that is to say, the 'level 1' resourcepool (ResourcePool-resgroup-296) is in which parent resource group.

    Thank you

    Chi

    There are 2 things to consider before attack us the script.

    (1) resource pools can be created in 2 different locations, under a Cluster and a standalone host

    (2) in the vSphere environment, there are some hidden files. One of them is the pool of resources of the parent 'resources '.

    You can find this file under each group and each stand-alone host.

    The script uses a function called Get-RpPath, which makes it much easier to recursively down the structure of resource pool

    The script now prints the hidden folder "Resources" as the beginning but this can be replaced by the name of the cluster or standalone host just above.

    The script begins with the collection of all of the 'Resources' folders that are hidden in your vSphere environment and recursively then descends from the quest of sub-resourcepools.

    $indent = 4

    function Get-RpPath{
         param($rp, $level)

         Write-Host ($rp.Name).PadLeft($level + $rp.Name.Length, "-")
         foreach($child in $rp.ChildConfiguration){
              $nrp = Get-View -Id $child.Entity
              if($nrp.GetType().Name -eq "ResourcePool"){
                   Get-RpPath $nrp ($level + $indent)
              }
         }
    }

    $clusters = Get-Cluster
    $hosts = Get-VMHost | where {-not ($_.ParentId -like "Cluster*")}

    $RProot = $clusters | % {
         Get-Inventory -NoRecursion -Location $_ | where {$_.gettype().Name -eq "ResourcePoolImpl"}
    }
    $RProot += ($hosts | % {
         Get-Inventory -NoRecursion -Location $_ | where {$_.gettype().Name -eq "ResourcePoolImpl"}
    })

    $RProot | Get-View | % {
         Get-RpPath $_ 0

  • Issue of Resource Pools

    I'm relatively new to the VMware Infrastructure. I read a lot of documentation available, but I'm having a hard time getting my head around Resource Pools. I was wondering if someone could point me to documentation that includes examples of how and why the Resource Pools are used in a real production environment. In the meantime, if anyone could answer the following questions, I would appreciate it:

    It seems to me that the RPs have been created to distribute resources according to how many resources needs of an organizational unit. For example if a unit is in need of 5 machines running at 2 mhz each with 2 GB of ram, then a suitable unexapandable PR for this unit would include 10 mhz and 10 gigabytes of ram and if any machine would be created which depleted resources, the machine would not be able to start. Is this correct? If so, then how the RP can manage how much mhz CPU using each machine? If all 5 machines were launched at the same time, would not be the limit of 10 mhz be quickly exhausted? The machine would be stopped / stop? Or would the machine just run with > less < mhz?

    RPs affect DRS or HA? How can he? Because the DRS moves a machine so she uses a fixed amount of resources on a machine, ESX, how RPs come into play if they are universal to the cluster?

    Thank you very much

    psynophile,

    Relevant issues. RPs are used "Undernet world", Yes, but I've not seen too real implementations using it. But everything I've seen, they work very well for purposes of limitation and booking. Answer your questions:

    "any machine would be created which depleted resources, the machine would not be able to start": it depends. The limitation will be strong for the RAM (the sixth VM fuel not on), but for CPU the ESX will try to share the 10 GHz (I guess than the typo in the MHz) with all the virtual machines on the RP - always count you can provide each machine with a reserve of CPU, so if the reservation is greater than the limit , then you may not be able to power on the nth VM.

    If so, then how the RP can manage how much mhz CPU using each machine? If all 5 machines were launched at the same time, would not be the limit of 10 mhz be quickly exhausted? : it depends on the use of each virtual computer processor. The performance will be degraded IF the limit of 10 GHz is not sufficient to them.if you 5 database within this RP servers, they will probably present a performance degradation. But will never halt/stop.

    RPs affect DRS or HA? : as the RPs are on a group level, they do not. DRS will change virtual machines one ESX to another depending on the host CPU/RAM usage. HA won't be affected, only that your reservations can reduce the amount of servers for failover, you have set up for it.

  • Assign a policy to a custom data center

    Hello

    I created a custom data center and added 3 groups that have "Custom strategy 1" that was. When I open the remaining capacity on the data center customized for the analysis screen, it is with vSphere Solutions default strategy. How can I assign the 'Custom 1 strategy' to the object custom data center so that it uses my buffers HA and approve the limits. When I navigate to the custom tree data center and select clusters, they use the "Custom correct strategy 1.

    I'm under vrops 6.1.0 3038038

    You must create a group for the custom data center and assign this group "Custom 1" or add the data to an existing group that you have your custom policy assigned to Center.

  • Trying to create a script that lists all clusters in a data center

    Hello

    I am trying to create a script that exports a vCenter configuration essentially and imports it in a new vCenter. I want the script to run without specifying a center of data manually. All the scripts I've seen you need to manually enter the data center.

    So, how to do a list of all the data centers with clusters in each of them? I also want to create a variable that contains the groups for the respective data centers. Here's a basic idea of what I want to do:

    $Datacenters = get-data center

    foreach ($Datacenter to $Datacenters)

    {

    $cluster = get-Cluster-location $Datacenter

    Write-Host "list of clusters in $Datacenters.

    Write-Host "$Cluster".

    }

    Who will give me the output like this:

    List cluster Datacenter1

    cluster2 CLUSTER1

    List cluster Datacenter2

    cluster3 cluster4

    But I don't know how I can get so I have variable like this:

    $datacenter1 = cluster1, cluster2

    $datacenter2 = cluster3, cluster4

    Did you mean something like this?

    Get-data center | %{

    New-Variable - Name $_. Name - value ([string]: join ("," (Get-Cluster-location $_ | % {$_.}))) Name})))

    }

  • Virtual machines by operating system in data center

    Hello people,

    I'm trying to write a script that totals VMs in a datacenter by operating system. Here's what I have so far:

    Get-vm-location (get-data center-name "DC1"). %{

    $totals [$_] ExtensionData.Config.guestFullName] ++

    }

    $totals

    This works for the DC1 datacenter, but what do I do if I want to collect totals for all data in my vCenter centers? I would also like to export the data to html format, so that it can be read as a report in a browser.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Rob

    You could do something like that to get a report for each datacenter

    foreach($dc in Get-Datacenter){
      Get-VM -Location $dc |
      Group-Object -Property {$_.ExtensionData.Config.guestFullName} | %{
        Select -InputObject $_ -Property @{N="Datacenter";E={$dc.Name}},Name,@{N="Count";E={$_.Group | Measure-Object | Select -ExpandProperty Count}}
      }
    }

  • VM to data center report

    Hello

    I tried to write what I thought would be a simple report, but I have problems with the release of data in the report. Here is my script:

    $report = @)

    {foreach ($dc in Get-Data Center)

    {foreach ($vm in Get - VM)

    $row = "" | Select datacenter, vm

    $row.datacenter = $dc. Name

    $row.vm = $vm. Name

    $report += $row

    }

    }

    $report

    My problems is that when I run the report, the data center may or may not be on the line with the virtual machine. In other words, the data center listed may not be declared with precision with the VM in the same line. Anyone can point out what I am doing wrong or another way to tackle the virtual machine to the datacenter report?

    TIA,

    G

    You should limit your VM - Get only to the data center.

    Like this for example

    $report = @)

    {foreach ($dc in Get-Data Center)

    foreach ($vm in (Get-VM-location $dc)) {}

    $row = "" | Select datacenter, vm

    $row.datacenter = $dc. Name

    $row.vm = $vm. Name

    $report += $row

    }

    }

    $report
