Get "DDE server window not responding do not" message when computer shutdown

Tell me why when shut down my PC , I got a "DDE SERVER WINDOW NOT RESPONDING... END message NOW? ' I've never had before, and the only way I could stop my PC was to finish the task.
I am running Windows XP SP3
Thank you!

I uninstalled a program called iLike Sidebar & it seems that the DDE server window does not come up during a re-start and or close. I think it was the cause of it occurring first, because now that I remember I never had it happen before you install the Sidebar iLke. I think it was the cause of the problem, and am keeping an eye on, just in case it happens again. I hope I'm right about my prognosis.

I thank all those who responded to this question, I had, & if he come again I will adhere to all the suggestions that everyone else does.

Thank you!!

    Hi ucudbm,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. The problem occurs only after the use of Firefox on your computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

If the previous step fails then I would suggest you contact Firefox support for more information.

After updating my mozilla, I get a message not responding

Hello bwallace57, your "more detailed system", it seems you have a little suspect for malicious software extensions (GetSavin, MyPoints Score!, MyPoints Toolbar, entry-level consumer).

You can verify the behavior of firefox in safe mode (safe mode are disable the extension)

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

also, you can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

More information can be found in the article troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware .

et Check in the Windows Start menu > Control Panel > programs > uninstall a program, uninstall everything related to the above extensions

and finally remove the User.js filein your firefox profile folder .

(The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, otherwise, please note that some programs to create and write in the User.js file also).

  • Hyperlink window not Visible when using anchor

Hello community, for some reason my window for a hyperlink became inactive when using anchors. I had some problems of Muse today and did a re-install Adobe Muse CC.jpg without success. Any ideas?

    George

    Hi George,.

The hyperlink menu appears only after you select an object that can be a hyperlink. If you have selected the object anchor, hyperlink option, it will go away because it is not a hyperlink. If you click on a button, object shape, picture, or text, the hyperlink option should appear on the right.

    I hope this helps!

  • "Version of server is not available" when you use CentOS 6 connect.pl

I want to install a new Nagios Plugin which is basically a Perl script that connects to an ESXi host. I had problems so that it connects and I wonder what is happening.

I tried to connect to the host using the connect.pl of my CentOS 6 box, and I receive the following error message...

    "Version of the server is not available at . https:// " < ip address > / sdk/vimService.wsdl"

I can manually navigate to this address, but I can't seem to connect using the Perl script.

I've seen a lot of suggestions on the addition of {PERL_LWP_SSL_VERIFY_HOSTNAME} $ENV = 0; at the beginning of your scripts, but this doesn't seem to work.

I also tried to type in export PERL_LWP_SSL_VERIFY_HOSTNAME = 0 in the shell, and it solves nothing. Do not know what is happening.

    Perl v5.10.1

    LWP Version: 6.05

    Crypt::SSLeay Version 0.57

The issue could be with the environment in the Nagios configuration (maybe the value is crushed or not picked up in a later step).

Try upgrading Crypt::SSLeay.  There are a few versions were some changes have been added to change the management of self-signed certificates (so all the messages on the use of PERL_LWP_SSL_VERIFY_HOSTNAME).  I have not seen the problem with newer versions of the modules.

For example, Crypt::SSLeay:VERSION = 0.57 is a bit old (~ 2007).  Under OSX, I'm running the 0.64 version and is no longer necessary for the PERL_LWP_SSL_VERIFY_HOSTNAME when running VMware Perl SDK tools.  I also haven't seen on newer Perl install versions (for example 5.16).  0.64 seems to be the current version of the production, and I suppose the upgrade, it might solve the problem.

    Hello Greg,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

You did any hardware or software changes to your computer before the show.

Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.

This problem may occur because of the corrupted Windows files or incorrect registry settings.

To diagnose the problem, check if the problem occurs in safe mode.
    Refer to this article:
Start your computer in safe mode
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=Windows-7

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Please refer to the suggestions of Mr Andersen replied on September 4, 2010 and check the problem with folders.
    https://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-files/renaming-folders-causes-item-not-found-error-in/e2cf38c7-9e77-4256-89DE-6308df53d5f9

Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/back-up-registry#1TC=Windows-7

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.
