  Steve Winograd's right - no executables are normally launched from the Temp folder where you specify unless the malware put them there.

  Your system is currently or has been infected and perhaps your detection/removal software clean the folder Temp of the suspicious content but this process does not always boot entry that points to the location/suspicious file, so that each reboot (or login), he wants to run it.

  You can try an online virus scanner to check the virus first. For example:

• My VM was working fine, now I get this error

  OK people, I really hope that someone can help me here.

  I have been using VM Ware on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine for more than 18 months without any problem at all.

  I use the Version of VMware Workstation 7.1.4 build-385536

  The virtual machine is also running Windows 7 Ultimate.

  The problem I have now is that after 5 minutes of starting the virtual machine, it getting hit with this error:

  Operation on the file "C:\Users\User\Documents\Virtual Machines\Windows 7x64\Windows 7 x64.vmdk" failed.

  If the file is located on a remote file system, make sure that your network connection and the server on which resides this disk to work correctly. If the file is saved on a removable medium, link media.

  Choose Retry to retry the operation
  Choose to Abort to terminate this session.
  The choice to continue to pass the error to the guest operating system.

  Retry
  Abandon.
  Continue

  Now my VM is on my local machine, so there would be no problem.

  Second, my VM is just on my C drive, is not on any form of removable media.

  The only option is to click on one of the 3 options above but when click try again, I get this error message:
