Getting ORA-01861: literal does not match format string whith 2 passes DATE

Not exactly a complete Newbie, but not an expert either but it left me speechless...

I have two DATE columns in two different tables.
In a select statement I compare these two in the where clause.

... and
Table1. Column1 = table2.column1

I then get

ORA-01861: literal does not match the format string (and toad has highlighted the second column)

I made a selection on the two tables to have a look at the values and found that, the values in a table (Toad), has this format: YYYYMMDD but in the other select table produces a column of values in the format YYYY-MM-DD

I've made a desc on the two paintings and confirmed that the two are DATE columns...

I've never seen different date formats in the same database... Thinking about it now (I'm home and can not verify) the two tables could be in different schemas... Different schemas can display different date formats?

In any case, I tried to_date ([column] on the two (in the where clause) and got that a nonnumeric value has been found where a numeric value has been planned (this time for the first column).)

So I guess I ask how come two different date formats and how to find the nonnumeric value in table 1 which contains lines of 5.8 million

Any tips/ideas/tips?

Please check back when you get back to work... I can almost guarantee you that one (if there is not both) of these columns is NOT a data type DATE (or timestamp).

Or if they are, you are actually handled in a view or query to convert to this type of data.

    When I use the following in a formula in the column in the business model, the administration of BI tool does not complain:

    TO_DATETIME (LEFT ("registration - College". "D time". " ("' Exercise ', 4) | ("/ 09/01 ', ' yyyy/mm/dd')

    But when I use it in an analysis, I get the error message:

    ORA-01861: literal does not match the format to the call of the OIC string

    The scope of practice is a varchar of 6 characters (e.g. 201213), so I do not know what causes this error. Is this because the TO_DATETIME expects something like hh as argument?

    Without the element that to_datetime is supposed to work, here is an example that I made on SampleApp406.

    Try to add the "time", but for me it has always worked without problem.

    Hello

    It's just one of the reasons for which the storage of dates as VARCHAR2 columns is a bad idea.
    Apparently, some (maybe just one) this column values is not the right format. To find malformed (the kind that cause the ORA-01861) values, you can do something like this:

    SELECT  primary_key
    ,     estimatedshippingdate
    FROM     cram_stg
    WHERE     TRANSLATE ( estimatedshippingdate
                , '012345678'
                , '999999999'
                ) != '99-99-99'
    ;

    It intercepts any mistakes as the 32nd day of the month (let alone ' 02-29-11'). See the next thread of a way to do this:

  • HP 8600 over Error Message: paper detected does not match format of paper or type selected.

    HP Officejet Pro 8600 more

    Windows XP Pro, Windows 7 Pro

    Error message: paper detected does not match format of paper or type selected

    This error message appears on the printer display panel any time a custom paper size has been set up in Word (or any other application) and the format of paper & type was inserted in the Officejet Pro 8600 paper tray.  This error is generated by the printer regardless the orietation or margins or paper size settings in the document to match the paper size in the paper tray.  When you press 'OK' on the printer display panel, the printer ejects paper correctly.  Because this printer lacks a manual bypass tray, the custom paper is always inserted in the Tray1 and is the only book in this tray 1.  It's a simple tray 8600 more.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Unfortunately, you cannot print on a paper size "undefined" with printers. While the functionality is available in word, our printers do not recognize that the sizes of the main paper (these changes according to the country sometimes).

    The reason for this is because undefined paper sizes open the printer and the print job to a certain number of risks, including jams paper or misaligned printing. This is why the function is no more on HP printers.

    I recommend to find a type of traditional paper which is close to the size you want to print on and select in the layout of the print job as a workaround for this problem.

    I hope this helps!

  • ORA-19007 - schema does not match

    On my database, we have two matching schemas tables in each - one for the active data and the other for data which stands for research in the long term. Both contain a pattern registered XMLType column. However, when I try to insert directly from the assets in the archive, I get the following:

    SQL > insert into eci_archv_schema.rev_item_earn_dtl_archv
    2 Select * from eci_schema.rev_item_earn_dtl

    The only way in which I can properly move the data from one to the other is to wrap select it from one of the following:

    1 XMLType.createXML (my_xml_column.getCLOBVal ())
    2 XMLType.createNonSchemaBasedXML (my_xml_column)

    These two taking unusually long to complete and cause my check-in process is very, very slow. Apparently because the patterns were recorded under different database diagrams, they are somehow regarded as incompatible. This is the case or not they actually fit in another way? Is there an easy way to compare?

    FYI: we are 11.2.0.3, but this also happens on 11.2.0.2. Any help would be appreciated.

    To_char, as the name suggests, returns a VARCHAR2, c.data is therefore a VARCHAR2, but you try to store it in an array of DATEs.
    Do not use TO_CHAR. In fact, there is no need to use a column for that at all, because SYSDATE will always be the same.

    Try something like this:

    declare
        type vcArray is table of varchar2(10);
        l_group#   vcArray;
        l_status vcArray;
        cursor c is select GROUP# , status from v$log;
        run_time DATE;
      begin
      open c;
      loop
         run_time := SYSDATE;
         fetch c bulk collect into l_group# , l_status;
         for i in 1..l_group#.count
         loop
          dbms_output.put_line('run_time: ' || run_time);
         end loop;
         exit when c%notfound;
      end loop;
      close c;
    end;

  • Private key does not match cert.

    Hello

    I just bought certificates to an authority important cert for my area of work poc, but when you try to install them on the Configurator in the SSL part I get a "private key does not match cert".

    I got three files of digicert (DigiCertCA.crt - TrustedRoot.crt and mysite.com.crt)

    I have them open with notepad and copy all the content in a text file in the order of trusteroot mysite - digicert. This stuck in the part of the SSL certificate and copied the REA does for demand in the private key part, but it fails with this error.

    also tried downloading the cert as a pem file but the same error.

    If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?

    Solved.

    In fact, I feel really stupid but who knows that someone else could sit and scratch your head like I did so as usual better sharing where it can benefit and spare some time.

    Reading here and there (I really feel like a fool...) I figured out I was entering my CSR to enter my private key. But then, where is my private key?

    I generated the cert with the tool of digicert. Filled in all the fields so I end up with my cert and my csr... No private key

    In order to get the key of a bit of research on Google as usual and think about it.

    Add to export the certificate with the private key using openssl and managed to recover the key

    Export the private from the pfx file key file

    OpenSSL pkcs12 - in filename.pfx - nocerts - out .pem

    Export the certificate file in the pfx file
    OpenSSL pkcs12 - in filename.pfx - clcerts - nokeys-out cert.pem

    Remove the password for the private key
    OpenSSL rsa - in .pem-out server.pem

    Chained all three CERT downloaded previously into one. It stuck in the SSL section. Copied content of server.pem in the private key part and TaDaaa here goes green

    See you soon

    I use the simplified notation filed to perform subtraction on a budget form.

    They all have an excellent work and have no problem display a value of zero when it's a simple subtraction (value1-value2).
