I've never seen any person related Microsoft solve this problem (no Microsoft KB article), but you can fix it using the instructions and tools to other people who actually thought of it and actually know how to repair and have actually fixed properly (without a lot of difficult things that might work sometimes maybe).
You need as a result of suggestions from people who have actually seen and that fixed it and not people who have never really seen or actually fixed and have no idea how to solve this problem.
And I don't know of many contributors to the forum very well - I'm no Microsoft Support and the support engineers talking Microsoft product.

peripheral storage removable Ghost are viruses?
I recently watched two storage devices detachable 'Phantom' on my Windows 7 PC.
They did not disappear after reboot or system restore.
They seemed to contain no data (click right properties) and cannot be removed by right click Eject.
A colleague has managed to remove by using the command line (mountvol
: D) with administrator rights. I'm running microsoft security databases and also use malewarebytes anti-malware.
When searching for these readers with anti-malware, they seem to be directed to some windows system files.
Removable storage devices seem to be called usb device generic flash hs - cf and usb device generic flash hs-combo.
Now we noticed also the other windows 7 and XP PC have these additional disks 'ghost' too.
For me, I have some sort of virus etc, but should I be?
There is little or no information on it via google

These devices relate to media (slots) card readers. You can have these integrated in your computer or to a device like a printer attached. They indicate no malware.
If you prefer not to see their when not in service, Folder Options, view tab, you can check to hide empty drives in the computer folder.

I was just recently hijacked by a virus that blocked internet access after 1 or 2 attempts with false security warnings Windows. I could go initially to my yahoo.ca homepage, but any attempt to go beyond and I was blocked by the above. The rest of the computer went very well.
I managed to download & run avast antivirus which seems to have cleaned the virus. Unfortunately, the side effect is that I can not access any application that I will receive a window "Application not found" or a window 'open with' is not the answer. This is the case for all installed applications, including IE7. However, applications are still there as I open it a folder for example Word, Excel. Also, I can partially use Outlook Express by clicking on the links located in the files. This allows me to create emails, but that's all.
Being does not technically savvy I can see that the question seems to be the path of the icon of the application or another starting point for the actual demand. I tried system restore but I got the same response "application not found".
I'd appreciate any help. But because of the issue I can't access the Internet on the laptop affectd. Please understand that I limited in my technical knowledge, but will certainly give some suggestions come along a good try.

Google Redirect Virus + corruption System32.
I have Windows Vista Enterprise and I recently discovered that I have a redirect virus that sends me spam search sites when I use Google and who also opens tabs in my browser unexpectedly. I found that he did this in Explorer and Firefox and I recently installed Chrome and it works at all.

Google problem... maybe malware?
Ive had this problem for a few days, where every time I try to use google (or any other site in connection with google, youtube, etc.)
I get this really remarkable thing of pop-up that says: "You may be experincing unusual behavior of your browser to your search engine and e-mail. You can use unauthorized software which can cause disruption. Please install bug Fixer.does anyone know how to get this turned off? Spyware is rampant in my Internet Explorer searches. How can I get rid of him?
I just got my computer on a workshop due to malware or virus infeciton... paid $100 and when we got it home, it was stil troubled. I am able to use Firefox without any problems, but my Internet Explorer 9 research is unreliable. Even if you see legitimate links listed, if you click on one of them, it will lead you to another window that has nothing to do with the question you cllcked... and looks very simplistic and completely false. I'm suspect spyware, but the calculation is impossible to install anything. Suggestions?
