give the user local administrator rights using local admin script

I would like to give a domain user with local administrator rights using scripts via sccm, now that user does not disconnect, and if the admin rights come into force. I want to get the user who is logged on rights and it shall take effect as it is connected. This is possible thanks to a script or restart a service or group policy update?

Thank you very much for your time.

Asher

Hey Asher,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

As you try to give a domain user with local administrator rights using scripts via SCCM, the question you posted would be better suited for COMPUTING public Pro on TechNet. I would recommend posting your query in the TechNet Forums to get help:

  • FAQ (27): the SDM requires administrator rights to run?

When I launch SDM, it happens with this dialog box. Is this normal?

Yes. SDM requires administrator rights because it requires the appropriate rights to update or apply SoftPaq updates to your computer.

The above message appears only if UAC (User Access Control) is turned on and that the user doesn't have administrator rights. For more information about UAC, please visit this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control

UNFORTUNATELY, the SDM version 3.5.0.0 (later from this post) has a problem where it wrong will not recognize the user as administrator if UAC is enabled.

If you have the SDM version 3.5.0.0, have active UAC and you are logged on under an account that has administrator rights and SDM displays the dialog box above, please note that this is a bug found ONLY in the SDM 3.5.0.0 version and will be fixed with the next version.

In the meantime, there are two solutions we can suggest you to work around this problem:

    (1) Although not recommended, you can disable UAC and reboot for the changes to take effect. We do not recommend this approach because UAC protects the computer against attacks. We include this option only for purposes of completeness.

    2) RECOMMENDED WORKAROUND: Force MDS to start with administrator right.  To do this, please follow these steps to work around the problem, until a new version of SDM is available:

    1. Open Windows Explorer.
    2. Go to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP SoftPaq Download Manager. Note: If you have a 32-bit operating system, navigate to C:\Program Hewlett-Packard HP SoftPaq Download Manager.
    3. Right click on the file "SoftPaqDownloadManager.exe".
    4. Select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu.

You must first remove the new plug-in...

VMware KB: Uninstall a plug-in for VMware vCenter Orchestrator

Remember that you use step 6.3 in this article to delete the contents of the package as well. To verify that the workflow and actions have been removed, check that the following workflow category (and all children of it) no longer exist:

    / Library/vCloud Director

And all related Action modules should have disappeared as well:

    com.vmware.library.vCloud. *.

Once you have completed all steps of the KB, install version 5.1 of the plugin, configure and restart the vCenter Orchestrator Server service, once again to complete the installation.

  • What provision I should give the user access to applications through Smartview?

Should what I give to the user to access applications via Smartview Shared Services. ?

Access to the server would do? Or I have to give something else?

Requirement is tht the user should be able to retrieve and send data via Smartview.

You need access to the user with access to the server - this will give the user the possibility to connect to the Essbase server in Smart View only. The user sees all the applications listed.

Then implement the user as write on each application that you want to see them and to present data.

  • Cannot delete the account of a user with administrator rights

I want to remove a user who has administrator rights account.  Win XP machine has two users (Administrator and a user name) that both are of type of administrator account.

I you as an administrator and should be able to change the other named to Limited user account, but for Limited is greyed out.  The option to delete the named account is not present.

How can I delete this account, leaving only administrator?

Often, I find that using the command line commands gives errors better when you can not do something.  Try the following:

    o bring a window prompt (start-> Run-> "cmd")

o enter the following command in the window:

    net localgroup administrators

o that it must return a list of all users with administrator privileges.  You should see the built-in user 'Administrator' and your other user (assuming that both have administrator privileges).  To remove administrator privileges from the user (assuming that this another username is "Joe"), then enter the following command:

    net localgroup administrators Joe/remove

If this is not possible, an error no doubt will provide you with enough information.

  • I tried to create a USER with administrator rights, as suggested by XP, but now I don't see the icon administrator when connecting?

My new user does not have the original administrator logon icon the same settings, computer desktop or programs I should use and before setting up the new user.  How can I copy, convert or restore settings (find) the Director, programs, files, documents, office, Internet settings and Favorites, etc. to the new USER?

Since owning my laptop I had connected using the Administrator icon and had an icon of comments, as well, until last Thursday.  I tried to follow the advice of XP and create USERS, so the administrator access would not be compromised.  Children were downloading apps and devours space... I was afraid they would accidentally remove a program or file, or worse... Then...

When I set up my USER he asked me if I would be the Admiistrator. I said yes.  But, when iI rebooted my laptop, only the icon of the USER (S) presented at the connection... the Administrator icon was missing. and my new USER reflects only a few shortcuts shared on the desktop...

I expect Admin rights and my old administrator settings.  I need to recover them because all my documents and especially my work programs do not exist.

Help, please!  It would be greatly appreciated EV.  I would like to restore to last Wednesday, if the system would, but it seems that it will not.

    Sincerely,

    KC

What you experienced is normal.  When you create another user, the original administrator account becomes hidden.  It's still there (in fact, it cannot be deleted), it just doesn't appear in the login screen.

You should still be able to login as administrator.  When you get to the login screen, just tap Ctrl-Alt-Del twice.  This will bring up a login dialog window.  Just enter 'Administrator' in the user name and the password (if any) in the password line and press 'return '.  If you want or need to copy your files and data from the administrator account to the new account that you created, and then follow the steps in the following procedure and claim that your administrator profile is corrupted or damaged.

  • Is it possible to run the command script with user account administrator rights?

Is it possible to run the command script with administrator user account rights means please tell me how to...

I need to run it in windows 7 professional service pack 1.

There are a few myths that won't go away, for example

    • You can perform administrative tasks when you are working from a command prompt.
    • A script (batch file, VBScript, PowerShell) gives you administrative rights.

There is no substance to a myth. Your account has administrator privileges, or it does not. There is no backdoor.

  • A user needs administrative rights on their computers to change the formats of date under the sign of the region and Lanaguage?

Customize the format of long date in DD/MM/YYYY under control panel > region and language > Formats > more settings > Date > long date is available for a user with administrator privileges, but is available for a non-administrative user?

Since posting this question, I was able to test this scenario with the help of my computer SCIENCE Department.  It seems that all our portable business have a configuration of standard domain without administrator privileges by default account.  I turned on my laptop users and was able to change the long date in DD/MM/YYYY format proving you don't need administrator privileges to change the long date format.

  • Recomposition of desktop clears the user setting when you use persistent disks

I'm in test phase of VMWare View, and I created my server administrator display and a server of composer. I was able to create jobs with the composer. Assignment of a user on the desktop and user can connect through the Client view. When the user logs on, they get a C: (Local disk) drive, drive D: (PersistentDataDisk) and a drive E: (SystemDisposableDisk). The user can create shortcuts and install their profiles of Lotus Notes and everything works great. The user can disconnect and reconnect and stay all settings. If I recompose the office by changing the initial snapshot used to create the office and place it on the office compound it clears all the settings of the user.

I want to know if this is normal behavior or if the settings of users should be "replication" to the PersistentDataDisk and reloaded when the user connects again. I want to be able to have users customize their desk tops and others for their taste but have the ability to add modifications to the software via the Redial feature.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Josh

A persistent record of the composer view should not be affected by a restructuring or a refresh operation.    Have you checked that the profile is being created on the disk D:\ sucesfully?    I remember problems in the past, if the user was connected to the image of the mother and then the profile remained on the C:\ drive instead of passing to D:\.

  • Failure of the user profile / administrative failure Account\Password

Recently, my Windows Vista computer has encountered a problem.

My main administrator account does not have to connect, and using my standard account side I searched and found the way to create a new administrator account and to transfer files.

The problem is, I need the administrative password to create a new account and so forth, but when I enter the correct password it reacts as if it was a success, but takes no action.

I rebooted and tried several times but it fails to answer in the course of any type the administrative password prompt.

    Help, please?

    Many thanks,

    Shannon

I'm not trying to find my password or 'break' - I enter the password and it acts as if it has been accepted but takes no action. If I enter an incorrect password, he denies it and asks for the right one.

I edited my post, it is consistent with the policy?

    Thank you.

There is a possible LEGAL solution, but it costs on the following...

1 yiou have a Vista Installation DVD or a repair disc.
    2. This works in cases where you changed your password to something new and then has forgotten or deleted a user account by accident. So that this works, there must be a restore point from the system during which login is managed on behalf of problem

If you meet the above conditions. Please use this tutorial

  • I have no admin rights on my account user has administrator rights!

    Hi all

Clean install windows 7 on SSD, in the installation process, I made an account. Who has administrator rights. However I regularly get error messages (while trying to share or move folders or windows update) saying that I don't have the rights to do so.

Check user accounts (I see my own (admin) and the comments which is disabled).

    Anyone?

No, I'm afraid that the restriction of administrator UAC is there for good. Short of turning off UAC, you're stuck with right, click Run as administrator. FWIW, I need these privileges all the time but have accepted the warning of the UAC rather that turn off UAC. It may take a while, but sooner or later, you will get the UAC popping up when least expected. Be careful as acknowledging the warning when you do not expect his speech.

If you prefer typing with the right mouse button, click on the main windows then type explorer.exe and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter. You will always get the UAC but may prefer this method to achieve this.

In short, learn to accept the UAC as the price to pay to use an operating system also excellent that must provide the parental control for the lowest common denominator.
