  • After the update to mountain lion, our hp d110 prints well but the scanner hangs every time.

We have recently upgraded mini Mac to our daughter to Mountain Lion and then his D110 prints fine as always, the scanner no longer works. If try to analyse the HP utility on your computer or directly from the printer itself, she receives an error message indicating that the scanner broke down suddenly. This never happened before Mac OS update. She started to software update, which found new software of HP printer, so she downloaded and installed, but the problem persists. Can you please sheds light on this problem? Thank you very much!

If you are using Snow Leopard or Lion and you have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD that is not marked as compatible with the 10.6/10.7 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard or Lion and had the software HP on your Mac before you upgrade - even if you made a standard from the old software uninstaller or installed new software on top of it) , you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
    Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall< this="" is="" the="" scrubber="" option,="" there="" is="" no="" button="" labeled="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Restart your Mac.

    Now reset the printing system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • MacBook Pro keeps freezing after update to Mountain Lion

I've recently upgraded to Mountain Lion since Snow leopard. I use a late 2008 Macbook Pro. Since the upgrade, I'm randomly crashes when you use most of the applications (logic x, VLC, QuickTime) it also freezes when using Mozilla. When it freezes I don't get the option to force quit if I continue to use the power to close button. I really want to continue to use Mountain Lion, because I use several applications up-to-date as logic x and is also compatible with my external sound card. I enclose a newspaper of being as recommended check on some posts here. Any help would be great and thanks in advance

    Hello billy.

When point to Mountain Lion? When say 'freeze' you mean the kernel panics? You get a multilingual you requiring window on the eve of your Mac? Your EtreCheck report shows 3 kernel panics. They were before or after you updated to Mountain Lion? If your machine has been seen panicking the kernel before, then it might be a hardware problem. If these panics are new since the Mountain Lion, then it is likely an incompatibility with one of your extensions to core 3rd part. She can relate to those who show 'loaded' in your report of EtreCheck, but it could involve other extensions too, depending on what hardware or software is used.

  • scan mf1522nf to show Mac mountain lion

    Hello!

I just got a Mac and it works on OS Mountain Lion.

My MF1522nf shows any ideas on how I can get it to appear in my printer/scanner options, printer and fax but not the scanner?

Can I use HP Director if I absolutely have to but he's so picky and I'd like to use an excerpt...

    Thank you

    Hello

The only specific model supported by Director software and can be used via the preview or the Image Capture.

In fact the request of the Director is not compatible with Mountain Lion and currently only print and fax features provided for the operating system.

As you find listed here, scan support charge later this year:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?objectID=c03411615#A4

Try to use software Director for Lion is the only possible option right now.

    Kind regards

    Shlomi

  • Since I have OSX Lion I can't print/scanning wireless more with my HP Photosmart Plus B210?

Given that I've upgraded to OsX Lion my HP Photosmart Plus B210 stopped working corrctly.

I uninstalled and reinstalled but ntohing worked.

The report of the printer tells me that my printer is connected correctly.

Have you installed using the installation disc?

If so, make sure to install the Compatible Lion software below:

First, uninstall completely any software installed:

    * Please note that the following steps will delete all HP software installed.
    1. click on menu go (click the desktop, then watch the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
    2. Select Applications
    3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder
    4. double-click on uninstall HP application
5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
    6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall
7 approve any prompt to uninstall all HP software.

Then download and install the Lion software for your printer below:

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL39592/Al-96582-1/HP_Lion_Ink_SW_v12.13.24.dmg

Please let me know if that helps.

  • want to know if the printer is supported

    Hello

I keep looking at upgrading my machine under snow leopard at el capitan.  I'm trying to find out if my hp photosmart b110a is supported.  All I can find on the site of hp is a link for the drivers through the Apple print and fax preferences loading but I don't know if my printer is on the new list until I update.  Can someone help me with this please. Also advice before I update outside backup of course!

Thanks for any help you can give

If your printer is supported under 10.11 or 10.10 it will be on this list

otherwise HP did not understand it.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04473034

BTW the link show the b110a seems to be supported with the Apple internal drivers, not of HP after 10.10.

Once that you upgrade the operating system should automatically recognize this printer and set up without having to download anything at HP. However if clean you install a new copy of OS 10.11, you will need to manually reconfigure the printer and operating system should detect the correct drivers, once it identifies the make and model of the printer again, without having to download anything at HP. It all depends on the HP with correct information on this site.

Difficulty of slow start in OS X | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews

6 easy tips to speed up OS X Yosemite on your Mac.

Avoid using third-party software that claims to clean your computer. This software does more harm than good. In addition, you don't need it. Note that all computers become slower over time even in the normal conditions of use. Generally, the experienced users erasing the hard drive and do a clean install from scratch at least once a year or every time that the installation of a major upgrade of the OS. Well sure doing so also means that you need to maintain regular and several backups.

Add more RAM or reduce the number of simultaneously executed from applications and utilities. Remove unnecessary software such as anti-malware and that promises to clean your Mac. Look for the runaway process: Runaway applications can shorten the battery life, affect performance and increase the heat and fan acti... See also:

Things you can do to solve the slow Downs

If your computer seems to run slower, here are some things you can do:

    Start with tours: OS X maintenance - MacAttorney;

The X Lab: the X-frequently asked questions.

    " Safe mac" Mac Performance Guide;

    " Safe mac" the myth of the dirty Mac;

    Maintenance fast Mac Help.

Start in Safe Mode , and then repair your hard disk and permissions:

Fix the hard disk and permissions before Lion

Boot from your OS X install disk. After the installer loads, choose your language and click on the button continue. When the menu bar appears select utility drive in the Utilities menu. After that the charges of THE select your entry from hard drive (mfgr. ID and car size) in the list on the left.  In the status area, you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is faulty or has failed. (State SMART is not reported on external drives Firewire or USB). If the drive is "verified", then select your OS X volume in the list on the left (subentries under the entry for the road), click the first aid tab, then click the repair disk button. If THE reports any errors that have been corrected, and then run repair disk again until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions. Wait until the operation is complete, then exit FROM and return to the installer.

Repair the hard drive - Lion-Lion/mountain/Mavericks

    HD recovery start:

Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until it appears the screen of Menu utilities. Otherwise, restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the OPTION key until the Boot Manager screen. Select recovery HD disk icon and click on the button below.

When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility. If no error is not reported, then click repair permissions. Wait until the operation is complete, then exit FROM and return to the main menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

Restart your computer normally and see if it helped at all. Then do little maintenance:

For disk utility can't handle situations, the best third party is Disk Warriorutility;  Fixed DW only for problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by the corruption of directory; Warrior drive 4.x is now compatible with Intel Mac.

Note: Alsoft ships DW on a bootable DVD that will boot Mac running Snow Leopard or earlier. He cannot start Mac that came with Lion or later preinstalled, however, DW will work on these models.

    Suggestions for OS X maintenance

OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are supposed to take place on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. Maintenance scripts that are run at the beginning AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep). If this isn't the case, then a great solution is to download and install a shareware like Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacronor Anacron utility that will automate the maintenance regardless of whether activity if the computer is off or asleep.  Dependence on third-party utilities to run periodic maintenance scripts has been significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have little or no functionality with Snow Leopard or later version, and must not be installed.

OS X automatically defrags files smaller than 20 MB in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files it little need to defragment the hard drive.

Under no circumstances should you install operating MacPaw or ZeoBit software (CleanMyMac/CleanMyDrive or Mac Keeper, respectively.) You don't need special software to keep your computer.

The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.

Difficulty a few pop ups browser that supported Safari

Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

    Quit Safari

Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

    Relaunch Safari

If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

If you need antivirus protection Thomas Reed recommends to use ClamXAV. (Thanks to Thomas Reed to this recommendation.)

The user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:

    The facts are:

    1. There is no anti-malware software can detect 100% of malware out there.

    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect all targeting the Mac.

    3. the best way to prevent breaches the most is for you as the user is aware that

the most successful malware attacks rely on sophisticated social engineering

techniques preying on human greed, * and fear.

4 Internet pop-up windows telling the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on

your computer is designed to trick you into installing their malware thinking it's a

    protection against malware.

    5. some of the anti-malware market products are worse than malware

go where they are supposed to protect you.

    6. be careful where you go on the internet.

    7. don't download anything from sites, you know are safe.

8 avoid links that you receive in email, always be wary, even if you get something

you think a friend is, but that you did not expect.

    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume that it is malware.

    Troubleshooting Applications

I recommend that you download a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX, Mavericks Cache Cleaneror hiding a Cocktail that you can use to delete the former newspapers and archives, cleaning, etc. Corrupted cache, logs or temporary files can slow down the application or OS X crashes and panics of the kernel.

If you have leopard snow or leopard, then for similar repairs install Applejackfreeware utility.  If you do not start in OS X, you can boot into single-user mode , where you can run Applejack to make a set of routines for repair and maintenance of the command line.  Note that it takes 1.5 AppleJack for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. Applejack does not work with Lion and later versions.

    Basic backup

For some people, Time Machine will be more than enough. Time Machine is part of Mac OS X. There are two components:

    1. a panel of Time Machine preferences as part of the system of preferences;

    2. a request for Time Machine, located in the Applications folder. It's

used to manage backups and restore backups. Time Machine

requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the

    drive being backed up.

You can also get an external drive at least equal to the size hard disk internal and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the disk utility's restore option. You can also create and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (the order is not significant):

    1 Carbon Copy clone

    2. get backup

    3 already seen

    4 superDuper!

    5. Synk Pro

    6. Tri-Backup

Visit The FAQ XLab and read the FAQ on the backup and restore.  Also read How to back up and restore your files. For using Time Machine, visit FAQ Time Machine of Pondini for help with all this time Machine.

    Additional tips

Make sure you have a sufficient amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run simultaneously. Make sure to leave a minimum of 10% of the capacity of the hard disk as free space.

Add more RAM. If your computer less than 2 GB of RAM and you use OS X Leopard or later, then you can do it with more RAM. Snow Leopard and Lion works much better with 4 GB of RAM that is their system. Most concurrent applications, that you tend to use the more RAM you should have.

Always have at least 15 GB, or 10% of the capacity of your hard disk as free space, the largest. OS X frequently accesses your hard disk, so offering enough free space will keep things slow down.

Check for applications that may be hogging the CPU:

    Before Mavericks

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the drop process .  Click the % CPU column heading twice to display in descending order.  If find you a process that uses a large amount of time processor (> = 70,) then select the process, and then click the quit icon in the toolbar.  Click the force quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Don't forget to mention the name of the runaway process, so you can find the cause of the problem.

    Mavericks and later versions

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the menu display .  Click the CPU tab in the toolbar.

This problem occurs often because of a corrupted cache or the preferences file or an attempt to write in a corrupted log file.

  • Just updated to Mountain Lion; no analysis even with updates. fine print

I have updated my os mountain lion software yesterday.  Today I discovered that my scan feature of the physical printer and the software on my imac will not work.  Seems to be a communication error.  I did everything suggested on your website without solution.  Help, please...

So I have a c410 after all the nonsense that HP offers none of this worked. I uninstalled (removed) my printer from the print scanning application. Then I unplugged my printer for ten mintues hoping to reset it to factory settings. Then I plugged it back in my "added" to the application printer. That fixed it! It sounds stupid, but it worked now I have the analysis function.

  • Photoshop CS4 and Question print Mountain Lion

I recently downloaded CS4 on my new Macbook running Mountain Lion Pro retina, and I am not able to print on my Epson 3800 printer CS4 versions. When I hit the "print" key, on the Epson 3800 printer light flashes once, but nothing happens.  The file does not even get sent to the print queue.

Photoshop CS4 otherwise works perfectly well on my Macbook Pro retina.  In addition, other applications on my Macbook retina print perfectly on my Epson 3800 printer.  For example, I can print from Aperture for the Epson 3800 printer very well.  I use the latest Epson driver on Epson site.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Peter,.

Since your Epson 3800 printer works well with other applications, a workflow work around would be to export your Photoshop file in a different format (for example, .jpeg, .png, .tiff or same .pdf according to what is your content). By exporting it in another format, you can open it using other applications (such as Acrobar Reader or preview) and print it from there. While this isn't the most ideal lsolution, it should do the trick if you're in a hurry to print.

To help identify and solve this problem in the long term, you can take a look at this help page: Trouble Shooting printing problems, Photoshop CS4 Mac OS.

This useful page lists all possible things, that you can do to reset it or fix the problem, it also lists a number of alternatives.

    I hope this helps!

  • HP 990 cm print is no longer the color since the upgrade to the new iMac with Mountain Lion

Have an older CV (990c, m series) which worked fine on my iMac Leopard PPC (X.5.8) running.

Since the upgrade to the new Intel iMac running Mountain Lion (the most recent software upgrades / w X.8.2) this printer will print only in black and white, despite having new color and cartridges inkjet black installed - even the test pattern that prints automatically when I changed the print cartridges only in B & W.

The detailed print dialog box that appears when I try to print a color page does not include the usual option to print in color.

I think that HP is no longer provides this older printer drivers but guess they are in the software updates in Mac OS.

Someone has an idea how I can fix it, or is it just time to recycle this printer and buy a new one?

    TIA

    Caroline

    Hello

The most recent is available in the following link:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&product=61686

Probably time to buy a new printer.

  • No tray 2 Mountain Lion

Software update is an update a few days ago for my OfficeJet Pro 8500 a A910n Premium, said driver 3.3.0.

Before, with the mountain under OSx Lion, it showed 1 & 2 status bar options.  After the update, there is no possibility of selection of tray.  If I select "printers nearby' offering, it shows pilot as 1.0, but still no possibility of selection of tray.  Automatically select the presets 'Show' for the management of paper source watch.

I got Mountain Lion, and the printer is added before the HP upgrade.  I did the Scan to Print & > settings check yesterday evening - he was there and selected.  I did show Presets, but couldn't find any way to change it.

Seems to be my bad here.  Before the upgrade, tray 1 and tray 2 boxes were shown in the print dialog box (minimized or view details).  Easy, my usual Fast project and tray (default) 1 have been set and I could see that they were fixed.  After, only shows the double-sided box.  Where did they go?

Your mention of my old brain jogging Source option.  I should have known - ridiculous migration to Mac OS x, iOS has many cases take an option with a clear simple click and turn it into a procedure.  Instead of the box visible to select the status bar; now, you go to the dropdown menu with the application, select paper/quality, then Tray 1 Source.  I guess the next big upgrade allows to hide the selection of printing at the end of many drop-down menus.

New and improved?  I find Lion and now Mountain Lion have much annoying little "features" that require more steps to accomplish something that made the snow leopard.  Maybe the small displays iOS devices requires all this blow autour but isn't my screen 24 ".  There is no place to show what you have class and select on one pane.  I'm bored of Snowy, it was a civilized Office cat.

I did named Presets for the settings I use.  I can adapt.  I am that the gnomes would stop to fix what is not broken, I'd not to...

    Thank you.

  • How to install (not updated) of my HP LaserJet 1020/1022 on Mountain Lion

    Hi guys,.

I am trying to install my HP LaserJet 1020 on my new Mountain Lion anyway I am not able to find a driver! HP web page to the specific address says I can "Refresh" this printer by using the Apple software update anyway I don't see any update or installation on it.

With the previous version of the operating system was possible to download a .dmg for HP LaserJet 1022. I tried to download and install the driver for Snow Leopard in any case I do not see any entry when I try to select a driver for my printer during the installation phase (the list contains only two very generic drivers for HP printers).

    Thanks for your time!

    Hello

The Laserjet 1020 officially is not compatible with Mountain Lion, however, try to use the following workaround:

Install the HP Printer Drivers 2.9 package by clicking on the download button below:

    http://support.Apple.com/kb/DL907

After completing the installation, go to System Preferences > print & fax.

Click on the sign more and select the printer.

If you still see a generic driver selected, click the menu drop-down use and then click Select printer software.

In the list, select the HP Laserjet 1022 and add the printer.

Now try printing using the configured queue.

    Kind regards

  • Setting up wireless after the installation of Mountain Lion

I have recently upgraded to Mountain Lion on my Mac Book Pro and am trying to set my HP Photosmart C4780 to print wireless via a USB cable.  I don't want to use WPS.  The problem is that the drivers were supposedly downloaded with Lion mountain and all of my research on the web, I agree that if I implement wireless using a USB cable, I need to do when installing the printer software.  When you try this a few days ago, the instructions I found said first to check for software updates by using the Apple app store.  I did and I got a message saying "no updates available".  After many hours trying to solve my problem, I finally gave up.  Today, however, while I was working on my laptop, I have message came up saying that the drivers for my printer HP were available.  I pressed the button install.  I tried to set up my printer with no luck.  Can someone give me some suggestions on what do I do please?  Thanks in advance.

In fact I already had on WPA.  I solved the problem and your initial solution was certainly helpful.  The problem was that by using the "Reset default" button does not seem to reset it.  I actually had to reset by a method that that is on this link.  http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-networking-and-wireless/can-t-see-the-hpsetup-network-on-my-MacBook-Pro-on-a-C4780/TD-p/193900  I appreciate your help.  He led me in the right direction.

    Thank you!

  • After upgrading to MAC Mountain Lion, the drivers for my HP C4680 were removed (accidentlly)

After upgrading to MAC Mountain Lion, the drivers for my HP C4680 have been deleted (accidentally). I downloaded the drivers from HP, but my Macbook it not install because the drivers are not available on Mac Store. How can I get the printer installed?

    Hello

First of all, make sure you restart your Mac, and then try to add the printer again.

If it persists, ensure that the USB port directly connected to your Mac and not via a USB hub or extention.

Ensure that the USB is not longer than 2 m and check to see if that can help you.

Also, if you have an iMac, be sure to plug the USB in the port at the back of the Mac and not in the Apple keyboard, which is not powered.

Also, try to reset the printing system, then try to add the printer and check any changes:

    * Be aware that reset the printer system will eliminate any existing queue and reset all custom settings driver.

Click on the Apple menu and then click on System Preferences.
    Select Print & Scan.
Right click (or Ctrl + click) your product with the Printers list in the left panel and then click on reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user name and password.
Click OK. The printing system resets.

Now, click on the Plus sign and try to re-adding the printer.

If none of the steps above does not lead to any progress, go to the library and place the HP folder to the trash.

Enter PPD\Contents\Resources, search for C4600 and move the files to the trash, then try to add the printer again.

    Hope that helps,

    Shlomi
