good developer's Guide

All,
I was watching the other day to get at least one excellent book updated on Apex 4.1.x but to my surprise, most of the titles are old. I bought Pro Oracle Application Express
Copyright © 2008 by John Edward Scott and Scott Spendolini but many codes are really frustrating, they do not work especially with Apex 4.1.1 & upwards. Does anyone know if there is a newer version of this book out there?

jieri,

The book Pro Oracle APEX has been a 2nd edition: http://www.apress.com/9781430234944

Thank you

-Scott-

  • Same different SQLs in both versions of the RDF Oracle 12 c Developer's Guide

There are two versions of the RDF Oracle 12 c Developer's Guide, we have the SQL insert as

    INSERT INTO articles_rdf_data VALUES (2,

    SDO_RDF_TRIPLE_S ("' articles, 'http://nature.example.com/Article1', )

    'Jane Smith'));

    the other change is indicated:

    INSERT INTO articles_rdf_data VALUES (2,

    SDO_RDF_TRIPLE_S ('items', '<http://nature.example.com/Article1>',)

    Which is correct?

    Thank you.

The second is correct. This is the latest version of the user guide.

  • Contradiction in the developer's Guide of what is instance?

    Hello!

Page 16 of developer guide it is said that the structure of the URL is following

    Protocol: [//host] [: port] [INSTANCENAME] /appname/

But earlier on this page, he was told that

The NetConnection class to connect a client to an instance of the application on the server.

    and gave an example

    var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();

    NC. Connect ("rtmp://localhost/HelloServer");

When the connect directive contains no instance name.

So, how do they relate? The instance name is just omitted in example feel _definst_?

    Is it possible to write

    NC. Connect ("rtmp://localhost/HelloServer/room1");

    ?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Your understanding is almost correct and there is no contradiction about the instance and the URL in the developer's guide.

As he said, always connect to the network to connect to an instance of an application, this instance can be explicitly mentioned (you want to add room1) or if it is not given, FMS uses a default instance with identity _definst_ for all its purposes. Do not add this _definst_ in your connection URL or elsewhere, but its what the connection is.

If you see the FMS Management console, you can observe clearly which body is to get connections.

Thus, the Protocol: [//host] [: port] [INSTANCENAME] /appname/ is complete with the explicit instance name in the URL.

The NetConnection class connects a client to an instance of the application on the server. : Correct

NC. Connect ("rtmp://localhost/HelloServer"); It connects to _definst_

NC. Connect ("rtmp://localhost/HelloServer/room1"); possible and connected to the instance room1.

It will be useful. Thank you!

  • Good beginners (Dummies) Guide 4.1 android?

    Hi all

Last year, I bought a HP Slate 7 2800 for my mother-in-laws, who do little or no computer experience and were looking for something simple email and a bit of web browsing.

I previously loaded all the extra apps I thought they might need, and also removed a few to try not to make too complicated Tablet (as they are of the older generation with no experience of computing really).

However, they themselves seem to constantly get in trouble with the use of the Tablet - small things like not closing tabs in the browser, leading eventually to an error telling them without tab more can be opened. The last 'number' has appeared on the notification icons to download along the top of the tablet.

They were the basis for the 7 slate user's guide, but this did he expect so you have some basic computer ability - screens of notifications are barely mentioned here, and aren't enough specific things like the tabs in the browser.

So, anyone know of any good "Dummies for Android" / beginners guide type books (or a downloadable PDF file, preferably) that cover 4.1 android a little more in detail that they could learn / see when something 'wrong '?

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

  • Reports developer reference guide?

    Hello

We have a lot of reports that have been (over the years) migrated from 6 to 11.  Most of the time, we have no problem with them, but from time to time I really regret not having any kind of developers reference guide. For example, the "Oracle9i Forms Developer' 'référence Guide' for forms.

The reason why I'm looking for one, it is that we had a problem with a report, and it is implemented in a Code39 barcode.  The original developer used an ampersand (&) in a block of text to indicate that the Postfix reference should be used, with ' *' is fine for the field delimiter.  I completely missed it and I'd love to see the additional documentation on this feature.  If it's forms, I could look in this reference of old (but still relevant) and understand it.

Was there ever such a guide for reports, and if so, could I get a document of reference so I can dig it up with the support of the Oracle.

    Thank you

    Dave

First thing that appears in Google is the developers of reporting Guide, which can be useful:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E12839_01/bi.1111/b32122.PDF

There is a whole section of bar codes in this manual.

I don't think that your problem with bar code has nothing to do with the reports, but with how works this barcode fonts. In accordance with the Code39 Manual:

"Don't forget to add an asterisk * character before and after your text. '. "Example * VOTRE_TEXTE."

  • ColdFusion 9 certified developer study guide

I find a large number of downloads of software (at a cost of course) for the ColdFusion Certification.  Can someone help me with the best route to go for ColdFusion 9 certification preparation and how they have prepared for it.  Advice on the preparation of the trial and the trial itself.  I found a book entitled, "ColdFusion MX 7 Certified Developers Study Guide", but nothing about CF8 and CF9.  Do you think that this book would be beneficial in preparing the CF9 certification?  Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.  If anyone out there has received their certification yet and if so how many time you must devote to prepare for the exam. Thank you.

Who is on site. Don't worry with the CF8 guide as there is nothing here that isn't in the CF9 one. Read the sections 'ColdFusion functions' and 'ColdFusion tags', as well as the reference 'Application.cfc '. That should give you a grounded just in the review.

  • latest acrobat developer guide

Does anyone know where to get a copy of the latest Acrobat Developer Guide? I searched on the adobe site to get a copy, but for Acrobat 7 SDK, the copy that I found on the site is dated 2007. Is there any update on the guide the developer in the past seven years for SDK 8, 9, X, and XI? I use Acrobat Pro XI SDK to develop a plugin to compare PDF of the lot. Concerned by the guideline developer I have Acrobat 7 SDK will cause problems when the plugin is deployed on Acrobat Pro XI.

The Acrobat SDK kit is structured is more like it. It is a very large collection of HTML files, with the developer to guide an article linked to this. So you already have in your SDK documentation.

  • What is a good practice to manage LOV in jdev apps?

    Hi, experts,
    In jdev 11.1.2.3,.

In our projects, there are numerous LOVs whose value are stored in a common dictionary table, for example in the refcode table:
    refcode (id, low_value, high_value, sense, domain_no),
Different LOVs can extract value peers (low_value, meaning), or (high_value, sense) refcode table by using domain_no as the filter criteria.

In the user interface of the user, the values of field/code number should be displayed by a sense of refcode password
To achieve this, I'll create many links between the different tables with refcode,
and create your entity refcode consider the secondary entity views.

I feel some odd (because so many associations with the same table refcode),
What is a good practice to manage LOV in this way?

    Thank you.

  • Start Guide - ' hello world ' in Orchestrator

When a person manages to get Orchestrator running, it is far from clear, what to do next, or even whether to proceed. Is there a document that explains, with clear examples, how Orchestrator do something?

Is there, for example, something that tells you how to run a workflow? Even if it just prints "hello world" somewhere, that would be an important start. The installation guide gets the product set up, admin guide and developers go into details but they seem to assume you know of what the product all about and he can do. An expert could find a reference, but it isn't good for a beginner.

I thought he'd be plents of articles discussing the useful things you can do, but I've not found anything?

At this point I don't have to do any particular task; a guide step by step with screenshots from initial configuration is just finished and ending with an example of a workflow running would be perfect if such a thing exists?

    Hi Yau,

You're not the first to make this request

It is in our plans to add some basic admin to the doc procedures, to give a better idea of what Orchestrator is and does. We will add this kind of information on future releases.

In the meantime, you can try running a section of Workflow on p19 of the Management Guide. The weboperator Web view provides a pretty good idea of what Orchestrator drove out of a Web browser. Take a look at start a display of Web pages on p201of in the developer's Guide.
