Contradiction in the developer's Guide of what is instance?

Hello!

Page 16 of developer guide it is said that the structure of the URL is following

Protocol: [//host] [: port] [INSTANCENAME] /appname/

But earlier on this page, he was told that

The NetConnection class to connect a client to an instance of the application on the server.

and gave an example

var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();

NC. Connect ("rtmp://localhost/HelloServer");

When the connect directive contains no instance name.

So, how do they relate? The instance name is just omitted in example feel _definst_?

Is it possible to write

NC. Connect ("rtmp://localhost/HelloServer/room1");

?

Thank you.

Hello

Your understanding is almost correct and there is no contradiction about the instance and the URL in the developer's guide.

As he said, always connect to the network to connect to an instance of an application, this instance can be explicitly mentioned (you want to add room1) or if it is not given, FMS uses a default instance with identity _definst_ for all its purposes. Do not add this _definst_ in your connection URL or elsewhere, but its what the connection is.

If you see the FMS Management console, you can observe clearly which body is to get connections.

Thus, the Protocol: [//host] [: port] [INSTANCENAME] /appname/ is complete with the explicit instance name in the URL.

The NetConnection class connects a client to an instance of the application on the server. : Correct

NC. Connect ("rtmp://localhost/HelloServer"); It connects to _definst_

NC. Connect ("rtmp://localhost/HelloServer/room1"); possible and connected to the instance room1.

It will be useful. Thank you!
