good performance in the long plan Explain.

Hello

on 11.2.0.3 for a query, I have more explain plan that sounds great, but when it is executed by an application it does not end.

She's waiting on db file scattered read. Thanks for your ideas.

OK and what about the other issues? Are the stats accurate? In addition, application version/bundle you are on? Have you had a glance on My Oracle Support, apparently, there are a lot of perf. question on EI.

I'm not really expert FSCM, maybe these tables is completed only when the AE run, otherwise empty (is PS_PC_RT_RUN_TA24 not a temp table?). And Oracle could collect its stats when it was empty. So it could be totally bad positioning.

You can add a step before that a guilty just to gather statistics on the tables involved in this insert statement (probably not with 100% rating, but start with 10).

I remember of a workaround on a similar behavior on the Payroll when we needed to lock the stats on the tables (with more accurate values actually) avoiding to be replaced by 0 outside EI run.

    an execution plan is the actual steps that oracle will pass by when it executes a query.

    explain plan is a tool that is used to generate the steps of an execution plan for a query.

    The DML will not be able to change the statistics stored in the data dictionary views themselves. There must be a statistic explicit collection that has come to reflect the change in the data dictionary. 10 g from, there is automatically a task (a special 11 g automatic) is there who can detect the change in the ongoing dml on the table and can trigger the table for update statistics.

  • [8i] can someone help me on the use to explain the plan, tkprof, etc.. ?

    I'm trying to follow the instructions when your query takes too long...

    I'm trying to understand why a simple query take so long.

    The query is:
     SELECT COUNT(*) AS tot_rows FROM my_table;
    It takes 5 minutes to run (better), and the result is approximately 22 million (total of lines).

    My generic username does not (obviously) allow access to PLAN_TABLE, so I had to open a session in the SYSTEM to run explain plan. In SQL * Plus, I typed in:
    explain plan for (SELECT COUNT(*) AS tot_rows FROM my_table);
    and the answer is 'explained '.

    It's supposed to give me some sort of output, or am I missing something?

    Then, the next step in the post I linked should use tkprof. I see that it says it will display a file path specified in the parameter. The only problem is, I don't have access to the db server. I work remotely and do not have anyway (remotely or directly) access the db server. Is it possible to have the output to my local computer file, or am I just S.O.L.?

    How to hide is to run parallel processes for a query more quickly?

    Well, that's why Oracle to invent it.

    But the degree to which you use parallel processing (and effectiveness) depends on the amount of resources you have.

    If you apply the concept poorly, it is possible that a sql statement can take more time under Parallels. PX has some overhead.

    Would you recommend I have ask to my IT Department. collect statistics on this table?

    I can't. Statistics management is a BIG deal and not something that can be easily summed up in a post on the forum.

  • Impact on performance when you use the LONG data type

    Hi all

    Only I have a doubt about the use of LONG data type

    I use the data type LONG for some columns in a table and I created indexes on the columns separately, but these column values can be easily fit into the varchar data type.

    (Just to see the performance on this issue)

    Suppose that a common select query with WHERE condition on any of the column which has LONG data type will affect the performance of the query?

    Please explain.

    Thank you

    (1) the LONG (and LONG RAW) data types have been depricated for quite a while. Oracle has been strongly recommends that you move to 8.1.5 CLOB and BLOB data types. Why you use the LONG data type? You're still on Oracle 7?

    (2) have you tried to write a query that has a WHERE condition that refers to a LONG column? In general, you can not because it does not support the type of data LONG. For example

    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf

      1  create table a (
      2    col1 varchar2(30),
      3    col2 long
      4* )
    SQL> /

    Table created.

    SQL> select * from a where col2='abc';
    select * from a where col2='abc'
                          *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00997: illegal use of LONG datatype

    LONG data types are a royal pain to work with. They also have implications on the performance of wicked on the client.

  • Firefox is no longer in the first 5 seconds after the launch plan

    I am running Win7 with all the latest updates and Firefox 13.0.1. After I run Firefox, a few seconds later (it varies), the Firefox window is no longer in the foreground. It's as if I clicked on another window or wall-paper, and the Firefox window is no longer selected. It becomes embarrassing when I launch Firefox, click a bookmark to blog and try to scroll down with my mouse wheel. All of a sudden, it stops scrolling because the window is no longer in the first plan/selected, and I have to click on the Firefox window back to the foreground. Note that if I open other windows, the Firefox window always remains above these windows. But the window of Firefox itself is not the selected object.

    I finally found the plugin that asks that question for me. The plug-in, I confirmed my system is 'Shockwave Flash 11.3.300.268', which is the most recent available now. Deactivating a plugin solves the problem for me. I hope an update of Adobe will respond to that.

  • explain the in9i plan

    Hello

    on 9.2.0.4 under Unix.

    is it possible to import a plan for a query to explain from a (9.2.0.2) database to another (9.2.0.4)?

    Thank you.

    Difference is that the statistics of optimizer based on CSSTidy based on costs are different.

    Objects with the same data can be different segment size, then the execution plan may differ in function.

  • Performance counters to performance monitor for the Consolidation planning

    Hello

    I'm trying to understand what the servers are good canidates for the consolidation.  Spin the server VSphere 4 and a couple of hosts ESXi 4.  Rather than run the task "Analyze physical computers for consolidation" on the Vcenter server, I would rather go manual counters from perfmon on each server at least a week, so I can get a better picture of the resources needed for each server.

    I can't find any info on the vmware site which tells you counters set up and how to use them in the planning of peacebuilding.  Can someone point me to such a document and/or tell me counters are best to use?  Thank you.

  • Should I wait until the end of the execution time of the query for the execution plan?

    Hello Experts,

    I want to see the execution plan of the query below. However, it takes more than 3 hours. Should I wait all the time to see the execution plan?

    Note: EXPLAIN PLAN for does not work. (I mean that I do not see the actual line number, etc. with EXPLAIN the PLAN of market)

    You can see the output of the execution plan when I canceled the execution after 1 minute.

    My first question is: what should I do to see the execution plan for queries running out of time time?

    2nd question: when I cancel the query during execution in order to see the execution plan, will I see the specific plan of execution or erroneous values? Because the first execution plan seems inaccurate, what do you think?

    question 3: why EXPLAIN the PLAN for the clause does not work? Also, should I use EXPLAIN the PLAN of the clause to this scenerio? Can I see the result of running for long time without her queries?

    Thnaks for your help.

    I don't understand. What you hear from the above statement that you mean A-lines and E will be incorrect, but the ratio between them remain the same. Therefore, you can deduct the bad things by comparing the differences.

    Thus, A-lines always give a wrong result for cancellation of queries, isn't it?

    You say here that I canceled a query after about 5 minutes, and looking at the statistics of content (RowSource) I can already say the following:

    1. the estimation of cardinality of T1 is far - the optimizer estimated 100 lines, but it actually generated more than 57000 lines when the query was cancelled. If this definitely seems like a candidate at the origin of the problems

    2. the query has spent most of the time in search of random table T2

    So while it is true that I don't know final A-lines of this cancelled query information, I can still say a lot of this and begin to deal with the problems identified so far.

  • Your power plan information are not available. Access is denied. Not able to change the power plan options.

    Original title: why I can't change the options for when I close the lid of my portable computer?

    When I go to power options and change what happens when I close the lid, I click on change settings that are currently unavailable and it says "your power plan information are not available. Access is denied"and I can't change my options. I tried these two options:

    If you're on a Samsung or Sony [he possibly also others], then there is a 'useful' utility, installed by the PC manufacturer that is inhibiting your ability to set power plans.  Quick start to type in the search box of the start menu & if such a utility exists then go ahead & turn it off - there is no unwanted side effects.  It doesn't help that you can't do yourself.

    For the other PC, navigate to the folder of the machine in all programs and search for any similar name - quick start, fast, mess-up-your-power sleep - options.exe, that sort of thing.

    Because the symptoms for the first time by people with this afliction is always - can't change what happens when I change the cover - I think you'll be right as rain when you have disabled the quick start.

    Let me know how you go,

    {I would say, 'Good luck', but you won't need luck.}

  • Cost of the execution plan is different in the two databases

    Hi gurus,

    I have two databases, which are 12 C.

    The execution plan cost is different in the two databases for the same query.

    is it possible to copy the execution to another plan.

    Thank you in advance

    Kind regards

    You simply can't compare costs like that. It does not work like that. Especially through two different systems.  Here is a very good read: column the COST of the PLAN to EXPLAIN. Oracle FAQ

  • What is the best plan for me?

    I can't actually get it to search for, and after the week of fighting with my PC I got, I'm a little more looking for anyway. Sorry, please don't bite my head. (I've been back with the service the customer at Dell for a week now.-_-)

    I use Photoshop, honestly, just for a few more things. I do much actual photo of treatment at this stage. Some of the very old version of Photoshop tool behaviors (ie: 4) have never worked the same since in new versions, so I moved to use other programs to get the results I want. I am currently working on a project of online comic, and I will be for a while. I works primarily with Manga Studio, then Paint Tool SAI, then as a tool the latter text/bubble won't personalize it the way I want, and this last just isn't a text tool in the current versions, I do my lettering and bubbles in Photoshop. (Rectangle tool with a rounded edge, then pen tool to make ponytails. Rectangular bubbles take less space than round ones, which means less fighting where everything is placed).

    I want to improve, and that my computer's hard drive is dying, I think now is a good time because I have to reinstall everything anyway.

    The basic plan 'Photography' would work? He describes it as "the latest version of Photoshop", but that is the full version or a 'lite version', as supplied with some Tablet Wacom years back? I have one of these versions lite, there has not been what I needed, so this is why I ask. I don't want to commit to a year of $10 per month only to have not to be what I need.

    Again, sorry if this is answered somewhere. My brain is totally fried PC unworking week after weeks of fighting with the poor performance before he tested himself and then try to get technical support to understand that no, the drive that you have sent has not been photographed, I start material.

    According to independent-combine- JOIN operation by HASH, I assumed the first operation's Id 4 because the "INDEX FULL SCAN' on 'WP_STAT_UPI' is the first child.

    So I guess the order of operations by Id is 4,9,10 and so on.

    I got my information from the official oracle documentation, the book of Troubleshooting Oracle Performance (APRESS) and some research on the internet.

    Unfortunately so far I have found a good documentation on the scheduling. Most of the tutorials and documentation talk a lot operations themselves, but very little about the opening sequence.

    According to the section ATTACK to State "LEADING(@"SEL$1""A2"@"SEL$1""A3"@"SEL$1""A1"@"SEL$1")", for the classification should be Id: 9,10 and so on.

    I also tried to find order information in the v$ sql_plan. The database version is 11.2.

    Any help welcome.

    Best regards

    Your interpretation is correct (even if you have obscured the lines 5-8, but they do not add significant value to what you're saying).

    The explanation of the difference between your interpretation and the indicator leading() is the indicator USE_HASH() is accompanied by a hint of swap_join_inputs(). Hash joins | Oracle scratchpad indicator tells you the order of join optimizer was examining, but the optimizer exchange the roles of man and hash tables when it comes to her 'now to join A1 (WP_STAT)' part of the analysis - and this is reflected in the implementation plan.

    Symbolically, the main indicator says

    You should join A2 and A3--> (A2, A3)

    Then you must join A1--> ((A2, A3), A1)

    But Exchange - join entries. (A1, (A2, A3))
