Good question on Tecra A10

Having bought one of the phones above, I was disappointed to know that there is no noise. Investigation showed the audio driver was installed correctly, but no sound came.

Even the windows welcome screen has not been heard.
I ran the Toshiba diagnostics program, and when it came to the test for the left and right speakers, whenever it has failed.

Strangely, when one plugged headphones into the Jack located on the front of the laptop, we hear the sound. Also, I discerned that the internal MIC is working too.

I disassembled the laptop, to see if maybe the speakers had become accidentally disconnected the jury. However, this is not not to be the case.

Also, seeing that I had in my possession a spare sound card (one that anticipates the laptop, I was able to change it.

However disappointing, still no sound has come.

I would be very grateful if someone may be able to advise.
Do you think that this is likely to be a simple case of a bad pair of speakers. I prefer not to buy a replacement if it turns out to be something else to matter.

However if someone on the forum with the most expertise that I think it's the problem likely, so I'd go for this option.

Sorry to trouble you practically any help would be most welcome.
Best wishes
Ian

> Having bought one of the phones above, I was disappointed to know that there is no noise. … I disassembled the laptop

I put t really understand why you have disassembled the new book
The warranty covers all hardware problems and this should be repaired by a service technician for free

I think its hardware problem, because headphones plugged works correctly.
This is why it is not a software / audio driver related issue.

However, in your case I recommend that you check the settings in the control panel-> sound-> playback device.
Check if the speakers are set as default device.
In addition, you could retrieve the laptop using the recovery disk to put the unit back to factory settings

In the case that these tips will not work, I guess that the speakers are defective and must be replaced.

I have a Tecra A10 - 1HP under XP Pro SP3 with all latest drivers. I have the 3 g drivers, Wireless Manager and the power plant installed and it works well. After a few hours of non-use, the grey globe down my clock has a question mark orange appear with 'No data available Connection' appears in the Wireless Manager when it is open. I tried Vista and Win7 and still have the same question. After a few hours of inactivity... available data connection. My 3g provider is BT Mobile Business and creating connection works fine.

Why he died after a few hours of inactivity? Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

Have you tried disabling the power saving for the 3G and WiFi?
If this is not the case, this!

You can change the settings in Win 7 Power Management.

You can try to disable the option in Device Manager-> Wlan card-> properties for energy savings

Last tab called Power Management contains this setting.

  • Tecra A10 - 1GV and Docking Stations: Dynadock vs Express Port Replicator II

    Hello Forum;

Official Toshiba site proposes to use the Docking Station Express Port Replicator II for laptop A10 1GV.

I need for my construction work 2 monitors.

My question: can I use with the Express Port Replicator II two additional monitors at the same time (there are 2 connectors (DVI and analog VGA/RGB). Is it possible to create two different images in this way?
Some have said, that after a connection with the DVI - D VGA connector is turned off.

    Someone at - he experiences?

On the other hand Toshiba offeres the Docking-station "Port replicator USB Dynadock U" -.
This docking station is only connected via USB with the laptop. According to the data sheet - it provides an analog and a digital monitor with different views at the same time, up to 1920 x 1200 pix., extra headphones and 6 x USB 2.0. more network connection

This official docking station works with all USB-connect computers, but in the compatibility list does not mention the Terca A10 and gives only a declaration of compatibility for the series Toshiba NB200 from Toshiba.

Someone out there experimenting with this docking station?

What would be the best way to work with two monitors + the computer screen?

Thanks for all the good advice.

    Michael

    Hello

As much as I know Express Port Replicator supports the simultaneous use of RGB & DVI only if the laptop itself also supports the simultaneous use of RGB & DVI.
So if the Tecra A10 1GV would support the use of RGB and DVI port simultaneously then Express Port Replicator should support too.

The Port USB Dynadock Port Replicator support VGA or DVI port. I didn't find the Dynadock, which was equipped with two ports together.
The Dynadock can be connected to all computers with USB 2.0 and it beautiful s expansion.

  • Tecra A10 - 1LP: Win 7 OS recovery after initially downgrading to XP Pro

I have a Toshiba Tecra A10 - 1LP which we downgraded to Windows XP Pro using the recovery disk provided.
However, we would now back the laptop to its original factory DEFAULT of Windows 7, but unfortunately I don't see how I can do this.

We have no recovery disc for Windows 7 product and the suggestion of support to hit F8 at startup and select site fix your computer is not available.

I need to order the relevant recovery for Windows 7 disk?

    Concerning

    Mark

    Hello

I guess, the missing hard drive recovery image, it's why you can't restore factory settings hit F8. You have 2 options:

    1. as you mentioned, is on the agenda of Toshiba for the money:

    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

2 copy of Windows (buy, borrow, download) and install it. Then, download and install the drivers for maintaining the proper installation order:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

If you have more questions, I'm happy to answer you.

    Good luck!

    Hello

Sorry to post a new thread, but the old "[Tecra A10 - installation for XP order |]" http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=45611] "being closed and my question is about the same subject."

I got hold of a Tecra A10 PTSB0A-002001 so I would install XP SP3 top the order of installing additional drivers from Toshiba is very useful. Thanks Ivan25 for this information.

Toshiba has also include a Java Runtime Environment 2 package which I intend to replace it with a JSE 7. I would like to know in what order it should be installed?

In addition, after installing XP SP3 there are still hundreds of Windows updates to apply these updates to Windows must be installed directly after installation of XP SP3 or drivers Toshiba?

Thanks in advance for your help

    See you soon
    Eric

Java Runtime Environment 2 package can be installed after the installation of all the current drivers and substantial tools Java Runtime Environment isn t, if it to install other drivers and tools and so it s not very important when the package would be installed.

You must install all updates of Win XP after installing Toshiba drivers and utilities.
During the installation of the update, the laptop must be restarted several times and the whole process could take a while

However, from my point of few, Win XP isn't the best choice now since Microsoft only provides no support for this system now

My question is: would my Windows Vista Business backup work A10 on the M10 (i.e. would it load hard disk M10 and then to work properly)

If someone can advise on this subject I would be grateful if you please

At first, I must say that Toshiba recovery image created separately for each laptop model and it is 100% created to work on the specific model. Why?
Each laptop model has different hardware platform and all the drivers, tools and utilities for some models are part of the recovery image. These recovery images are also tested.

Generally if the two models have the same hardware platform (hardware) it can be used.

  • Tecra A10 - no sound using Win XP

    Hi all
I have some problems with the sound of my Toshiba Tecra A10. I have already installed the Audio from Realtek driver and I see the little speaker symbol down on the right side, too.

But I don't hear anything. The Device Manager has a yellow question mark on "Modem Device on High Definition Bus" Audio.

I installed the Driver Modem Agere Systems, but nothing happened.

Can someone help me and give me a link for this driver I need.
    I use Windows XP.

    Details of the material:

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_02 & VEN_11C1 & DEV_1040 & SUBSYS_11790001 & REV_1002\4 & 9E9AEC4 & 0 & 0101

    Kind regards

    > I use Windows XP.

OK, although similar questions I with Win XP on other laptops with new HD audio from Realtek.
The point is that you have SP2 and SP3!

The SP2 and SP3 provides important patches and fixes for the HD audio
Then firstly uninstall the Realtek audio driver.
Then install the SP2 and SP3.
Then go to Device Manager and remove the marked devices of yellow exclamation.
    Reboot the laptop.
Now Win XP should find a new audio device and should ask the driver.
No, you must install the audio driver from Realtek.
Reboot once more and now the sound should works fine

  • Tecra A10 - 12 H - update BIOS: "this computer is not supported"

I need to upgrade the BIOS v 1.60 to the latest version of the BIOS. I downloaded from the site of Toshiba bios file (bios - 20091103164158.zip-> P0065v300.exe), but when I try to update comes this question:

    TOSHIBA BIOS PACKAGE VER 3.3.0
    THIS COMPUTER IS NOT SUPPORTED

    My laptop:
    TECRA A10 - 12H
    PTSB1E-01E003IT

    Hello

Have you installed the VAP (value added package)?

The VAP is necessary in order to run the BIOS update and Toshiba tools.
I found a son with the same error message, but the user is using Win XP.

The problem could be solved by the installation of common Modules (only for Win XP).
But the VAP is released for Vista and Win 7 and common modules are in the VFR package.

  • Tecra A10 - cannot install usb panasonic TDA drivers

    Hello

I recently bought a laptop Tecra A10 on which I decided to exercise the choice of vista downgrade to windows xp pro.
I am trying to connect to a system of telephone panasonic TDA via USB.

When you try to install the drivers, the system ends by crashes after trying to install for about five minutes.
I talked to panasonic technical support and they say that it is a known issue with installing windows xp OEM Toshiba and I have to get a good copy of xp to toshiba. Is there a patch so that I can do?
If not, how can I do this and will be toshiba give me a full copy of xp pro?

Any help would be appreciated, this is a real problem for me because my job requires me to connect to these phone systems on a daily basis. I don't want to lose faith in computers laptop toshiba because I think they are great.

    > I talked to panasonic technical support and they say that it is a known issue with installing windows xp OEM Toshiba and I have to get a good copy of xp to toshiba. Is there a patch so that I can do?

I put t believe that. Why? Because the image of Toshiba is not very different from a clean Windows XP CD. Toshiba image contains only the driver additional Toshiba and tools that s all that you would need such drivers even if the own Windows XP would be installed the theory given by panasonic technical support is very, very strange

    > If not, how can I do this and will be toshiba give me a full copy of xp pro?
You can order a picture of Toshiba in an ASP, but you won't get any own Win XP disks

In your case, I would check the Windows XP updates
In addition, you should check if there are a few new updates for this phone TDA system
Also check if the BIOS is up to date, but to be honest, I doubt that it could have something to do with the BIOS

  • Re: Request for help with Tecra A10-156 (Vista backup media)

    Dear members of the Forum

I am the owner of a laptop Toshiba Tecra A10-156. As the owners of this model will be aware, the machine is supplied with Windows Vista pre-installed. Also supplied is a recovery of Windows XP Professional disc, which, once loaded on the machine, remove everything on the hard drive, including the operating system Vista and the Vista hard disk recovery partition.

The documentation that comes with the laptop warns the user if he wants to take the Windows XP program on the computer, it must burn a DVD of backup software vista before you load the XP image because if it loads Windows XP without doing that then he loses everything to do with VISTA on the machine.
Unfortunately, when I bought my machine, I did exactly this error and load Windows XP without backup Vista Software. Load the XP dvd, hard drive was completely wiped out, including not only the Windows Vista installation, but also the recovery partition.

Although windows XP is a good operating system, I would like the ability to restore my machine to the factory setting. When I asked what to do with Toshiba, they said that the only way they could help would be to sell me a backup DVD of Vista recovery which would cost me a little money. (more than thirty books).
They also mentioned that if I could find another owner of A10 - 156 using vista would be ready, they could burn a DVD using their recovery from vista machine and then I would be able to use this DVD to do the job.

As I know personally of all other owners Tecra A10, I am writing to make a plea to ask if some A10-156 (it takes as the exact model) owner would please that nature to let me have a copy of VISTA backup medium please. Of course, I'd be more than willing to pay a total amount of the Virgin DVD (s) and shipping costs.
If someone is willing or able to help should I very grateful indeed and hope to hear from a fellow A10-156 owner as soon as possible.

    Yours sincerely
    Ian in the United Kingdom

I hope someone here can help and maybe you should put your e-mail address for direct contact.

  • Tecra A10 - Firewire chipset that is used?

    Hello everyone,

I plan to buy a tecra A10, but I have a question on the left.
For my FireWire cards that I use, I need to know what kind of brand FireWire chipset does build to the A10.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave Schinkel

In the last 10 years, I've used 5 different models of Toshiba and one of them was old Tecra and each of them had Texas instrument FireWire chipset so I m 99,9% this Tecra has the same.

I just hope that someone here As Tecra A10 and can tell us what device is listed under IEEE 1394.

  • 3G on TOSHIBA TECRA A10 - 13I

    Hello
My Toshiba TECRA A10 was XP and the Broadcom Mobile 3 G was OK, f3507.
Since I've upgraded to windows 7, it is impossible to connect.

I loaded the 3 programs on support of Toshiba.
The Wireless Manager won't launch and shut down.

Sorry for my English! and thanks for helping me

    Hi Roland

You have chosen this question as answered.
You always have this problem with the 3G?

  • Tecra A10: Remove or disable 3G - map

    Hello.

We prepare a roll-out of Tecra A10 on several sites.
In some sites, we would like to remove or disable the build-in 3 g-card (Modell F3507g).

How to disable the fingerprint sensor, we use a very old version of tsuruwin.exe, but I do not see how to disable the 3g card. Requests for a version more recent or better are unanswered of our toshiba-sales-guy but his _months_ only 4 so I just have to wait a little longer.

If the sales guy does not, what are the options in question?
How can he be physically deleted (and reinsert 3 years later when the lease is in place?)
Or is there a software solution? Do not install the driver is not possible because of our environment, for example to allow us and supporting operating systems not supported toshiba, but some scripts don't behave well with a second connection to the "wired" LAN (what windows calls)... The scripts work with _one_ wired and unlimited "wireless" (what windows calls).

Yes, because of the existing scripts, I can "fail" the A10, which can cause red faces, but at least my ass is covered by papertrail.

    Thanks & bye.

    Hello

I doubt that you will be able to physically disable it without removing the motherboard to be honest I put t know any software that would do that too

In my opinion you just disable it in Device Manager
I put t average a driver uninstall but just disable
