  Hi, first of all, I must say that I am new to Apex.
  
  In my page, I have two elements (type Popup LOV): P2_APP and P2_MOD and I created two LOVs for each item. What I want is that when I select a value in the first LOV LOV in second I get data value select first LOV.

  On this page, select a Department. AJAX then calls an Application process that displays several batches of XML. Javascript code that retrieves and puts it in the other three items on the page - the first is a number of employees in this Department, the second is the first employee (in alphabetical order) in this Department and ultimately is a select list of all employees of this Ministry.

  I added instructions on how to set up page.

  You will find that the process of actually performs three operations - Gets a count, gets the first employee and creates a list - but this creates just the various declarations of htp.prn () to build a single page of XML code. Javascript code just this analysis and extract the tags it needs to complete each of the elements of the page.

  Your page needs to create XML for many different bits of data, but the principles will be exactly the same - create tags XML in the process and the javascript code uses those to fill the page elements.

• Problem of two Casding Lov

  I have a strange problem.

  Jdev Version: 12.1.3

  Scenario:

  1. I have an input list three of the value in a form fields.

  2. first lov is a simple select statement without any variable binding.

  3. second lov is dependent on the first lov and has a variable binding.

  4 third lov is dependent of the lov first and second and two bind variables.

  5. I have defined the key attributes, mapped dependencies and set accessors.

  6. now if I run the jsf page, third lov is the data list correctly, but if I select a value, the value is not updated in the lov entry field.

  There is no code involved in the steps above.

  Please ask your entries on the same.

  It is an international forum. Please use internationally recognized measures and units. It's too many lines to be often perform a full table scan. I wonder the data model. It looks like the file table must be properly normalized with a FK to the table of the regions and the key of the specified region by analysing the file name when the file is added to the table. An index on the column FK region would then provide efficient access to the required lines.

  I install a simple page with a SuperLOV cascading.

  I'm trying to set the values of the first and the second SuperLOV based on the selection of a report.

  After the selection, a javascript function is called that sets the variable state and browser session P1_EMPNO

  Then one created a second dynamic Action that uses the event AFTER REFRESH for the first LOV to SET the VALUE for the second SuperLOV. It does not work

  Just to test the logic, I created a third standard LOV which is the same as the second SuperLOV and respective dynamic action. This one works.

  It's the http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=49044:1 application

  (PATRICK, demoadmin, 1234) application WORDERS.

  I used a $('#P1_EMP').apex_super_lov of javascript for dynamic Action action to set the value of the SuperLOV.

  Bean.setdisabled (false) - to enable a field. -You can use it.

  I have a view with a list of valuable object. Let's say EmployeeView and EmployeeStatusLovView.

  I have a transient attribute on my watchlist. Let's say statusDescription.

  I want to sort my list of value with the transitional attribute. How can I do?

  I see I can easily sort with the non-transitory attribute.

  If it wasn't a LOV, I could override executeQuery and call setSortBy(), but it does not work with a LOV as executeQuery is not called.

  Any ideas?

  OK I get it. The problem is that I tried to substitute the executeQuery() instead of executeQueryForCollection(). With first LOV is not used. Call setSortBy ("myTransientAttribute") in executeQueryForCollection() works great!

• Question of LOV cascading

  I have a table that contains the data of students, with columns for the dorm, sports, racing section, floor living room and advise among others. I've implemented a LOV this list each of these columns, so the LOV is defined as:
  
  Display return value of value
  Advisor 1
  Section 2 of the FYE
  University residence 3
  University residence floor 4
  5 sport
  
  Now I want to set up a second LOV that lists the different values depending on which value is selected in the first LOV. So if counsel is selected, each Member of the faculty who is a counselor would be listed in the second LOV. If the Sport is selected in the first LOV, a list of all sports (Football, Baseball, Volleyball, etc.) would be listed in the second LOV.
  
  I tried the following to the second LOV, but it gives an error:
  
  IF: P8_GROUP = "1" THEN
  RETURN
  "select distinct sect of wlwrap where the sect is not null order by 1';
  ELSIF: P8_GROUP = "2" THEN
  RETURN
  "select distinct sport of wlwrap where the sport is not null order by 1';
  END IF;
  
  The error is: error during rendering of the element on the page P8_SUB_GROUP. ORA-20001: the query must begin with SELECT or WITH (P8_SUB_GROUP is the name of the element that uses the second LOV)

  What version do you use? If it is 4 or higher, you can set the Cascading LOV article Parent (s) with: P8_GROUP in your second LOV and put in place of Page to submit items with the same value. After that, you must create a query like this:

  When the sect is not null
  and: P8_GROUP = 1
  Union
  Select distinct sport
  of wlwrap
  where the sport is not null
  and: P8_GROUP = 2
  order by 1;

  I use APEX 4.0 on 10g.
  
  I have 2 LOV, the second, based on the first.
  One displays null as 'null' % values to display all rows back.
  
  When I select a value from the first LOV (except 'null'), the second is updated with the correct values: it works.
  But when I select the value 'null', the second list is empty, rather than be filled with all the values.
  
  The second LOV based on the first request (P3_FILTRE_AREA_NAME):
  

  select distinct(ACCL_NAME) display_value, ACCL_NAME return_value 
  from POINTS WHERE upper(AREA_NAME) LIKE upper(:P3_FILTRE_AREA_NAME)
  order by 1

  When I run this query as a replacement for Sqlplus: P3_FILTRE_AREA_NAME by '%', it works, it returns all the rows.

  Hi Yann,

  You must set * "Optimize Refresh" = No * regarding your second select list P1_ACC_NAME. If you do that it will work.

  I also suggest to change your list of first selection P1_AREA_NAME to

  Display null value: "- show all xxx -" (without the quotes)
  "Return NULL value:" (without the quotes)

  and the declaration of LOV your second selection P1_ACC_NAME list to

  select distinct(VALUE1) display_value, VALUE1 return_value
  from TABLE WHERE upper(VALUE2) LIKE nvl(upper(:P1_AREA_NAME), '%')
  order by 1
  

  I think this makes it more transparent by looking at the SQL statement what happens where nothing has been selected. It is also more pleasant that P1_ACC_NAME is set to null if you need to access this page element in the continuation of the procedure on your page.
