Google Chrome can damage your computer

I am trying to install Google Chrome on my MBP running 10.11.1 an error message 'Google Chrome' risk of damaging your computer. You should move it to the trash.

Does anyone else get this error message?

Don't know why you see this message, but it is certainly not true.

The actual message means you need to move the mounted image - the small icon that is displayed after you double-click the .dmg - and put it in the trash.

Where do you see the message your computer?

  • Registry issues, if I deleted the registry stuff can damage my computer?

    Hi everyone, thanks for reading.

I was wondering if removing stuff from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> part SOFTWARE in the registry can damage your computer - if it is a software that you have installed. For example google chrome.

    Thanks in advance,
    Joshua

Who can say what it's going to ruin? There are things that you can remove which will not really hurt much, there are things that you can delete that will screw up a whole program or software suite, and there are things that you can remove that will transform your computer into a pretty, but pretty useless, brick. I stick to my previous advice. Do not. Just don't. Unless you do it for a good reason and have a clear idea of what you are doing - just don't.

How can I disable the "this type of file can harm your computer. Are you sure? » ...

It happens every time I want to move a file to the trash or in my computer... I have "trusted sites" which I get this file type all the time...

Can it be disabled because I know what I want

I completed the change by following the instructions. There is no change, BUT I noticed that:

    1. If I download a PDF in Chrome, it goes to my "Downloads" folder If I try to move this to a file or my office, I still get the warning.

    2. If I have "save under" the PDF file to the desktop, it does NOT ask or the warning does not occur.

Or, I stumbled upon a "Workaround": just save it to the desktop...

I made the changes to EI and restarted everything. The alert is always there in IE, and Chrome...

Also, I turned off Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) protection and and rebooted and its makes no difference.

I'm confused. I use Chrome 95% of the time.
IE always control parameter related to this issue, even if I use another browser.

I returned my IE back to the protected State.

    MSE protection turned on.

I returned to the 'normal '.

I think I'll let this one issue at the moment, but thanks for your help.

  • Hi guys. on the macbook in System Preferences > sharing there is a box at the top that says "computers on your local network can access your computer at:" means that other people can access my computer?

Hi guys. on the macbook in system preferences > sharing there is a box at the top that says "computers on your local network can access your computer at:" means that other people can access my computer?

"Your local network" is the computers that are on the same router as you. At home, this is your family.

to: "computer name" is the name of the computer, they will see.

Access is provided for items you decide to activate, usually file sharing. For sharing of files, ONLY the items that you specify in the file sharing dialog box details panel is accessible and be only users you EXPLICITLY list by username.

  • Need to download adobe but he said «this type of file can harm your computer»

My daughter wanted to play a game on the internet, but to play it said she had to download Adobe. When she clicked on the "Download" there was a warning: "this type of file can harm your computer" and something about modules and Active X. Someone would please good enough to explain what it means at all? It is allowed to download or not?

It is a general warning to make you think about what you install when asked to install things from the Internet. If you expect to install something, it is generally safe, such as Adobe Flash. Be ever vigilant when on the Internet!

For your convience, here is the file to install Adobe Flash on your computer: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe

When you click on that, save the file to your hard drive, and then close all Internet Explorer Windows. Run the downloaded program to install Adobe Flash.

When you run Internet Explorer again, it may ask you to allow Flash to run. You can say okay.

  • How can I remove an additional Google Chrome icon on my computer?

Somehow, there is an additional icon of Google Chrome on my computer that looks like this: is not redirect this usual logo, as he always does: instead, it always redirects to one extra. I don't want the extra one on my computer. I want to redirect it to the ordinary logo, as it always does.

Right click it and all the other icons of Chrome and "pin in the bar of"... and then launch Google Chrome and pin it again. Who will be generally correct to read and use the icon on the right again.

  • I think Firefox is getting worse, because there are many Web sites that does not work properly with it, while my other browser Google Chrome can.

There are many sites, but I will say only 1 site because I have very bad memory, so here's the problem, Web site Furaffinity.net, search for his website may not work properly with Firefox, its advanced research, help and toggle the button description can be click but nothing happened after a click. However, my other browsers, Google Chrome and INTERNET EXPLORER horrible can work properly. I tried to fix it by resetting Firefox but it doesn't work.

Thank you, and I take back what I said about Firefox getting worse.

  • If I put more lower memory card on a computer that has the memory card fast (just for the diagnosis of scenario) can damage the computer?

    Hello

If I put a memory ddr3 or ddr2 has a speed lower than the an origin whch is on the motherboard (just to diagnose the scenario), which would damage the computer?

    Thank you

    Johan

    Hi Johan,.

    DDR2-400 has a transfer rate of 3200 MB/s. DDR2-533 has a transfer rate of 4266 MB/s.

High speed DDR2 DIMMS are compatible with low speed DDR2 DIMM, although the motherboard or controller memory CPU will be bound to the limits of the low-performance modules.

  • When I tried to download, I got a warning that this type of file can harm my computer. I don't understand this.

I tried to download Firefox and a warning came to the lower left corner of my screen saying: "this type of file can harm your computer. You want deep Firefox... p7.0.1exe anyway? I do not understand why, I would get this warning. I used Firefox in the past but switched to Google Chrome when Zynga support told me it would work better in the game that I played on Facebook.

Chrome automatically updates this message when you download an exe file. As long as you have downloaded from mozilla.org , it is safe to open
