  I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome. Then pin Google chrome for the splash screen.

  Have a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer that I use very rarely.  Windows Vista service Pack 2 32-bit, Internet explorer 9.  Last used in July 2015 and was properly executed alll Windows updates.  When I turned this back on a week, he n;' t running windows updaIe, he just constantly sought to updates - no error code.  It would also not essential security update.  I thought that maybe I had lost the connection with microsoft, so I checked to see if I could download Security Essentials, which I did and installed successfully as he said it was the essential security upgrade and the definitions are updated.

  I've had Vista for a few years and had installed SP2. After a pretty bad fall, I had to "restore to the factory settings." This has left the machine as it had been when he came out of the box.

  What happens is-

  • I run the SP2 Setup (which was updated by the way is only 6 MB is told)
  • I got the warning in close all programs and that it might take several reboots
  • When I click on Next , the dialogue IMMEDIATELY disappears and I get Windows Update says it is installed correctly (and I mean immediately)
  • I find the update history and reports of successful installation but there is no trace of what either updated elsewhere as in the properties of the system or the installed updates
  • I run Windows Update, and it offers to install SP2 again

  I couldn't run even in safe mode.

  So I decided to just do a full reinstall from the recovery partition.
  Given that I had downloaded the full SP2 that combines the previous updates, it looked like a great time.

  SP2 installed without problems now.

  Only problem now is that Lenovo ThinkVantage Updater is not yet compatible with SP2 - but that's for another forum!

  I was not able to open Google Chrome for a few days.  I tried to uninstall the program, so I could always install thinking that would solve the question, but I'm not able to uninstall.  Finally, I realized that I was not able to open Chrome since the last round of updates to Microsoft Windows on May 23, 2015. So, I tried to uninstall all 6 updates (not knowing who has the problem), but have only managed to uninstall 2 of them - KB3035583 and KB3046480. I am now able to open Chrome... yay!

  I now want to know is

  (1) what are the 2 updates above?

  (2) are 'important '?

  (3) do I reinstall and do not have Chrome work?

  (4) how do I update/uninstall and reinstall Chrome?

  OK, for some time I formatted a card on my TX.  I just performed the task, and he only created the directory of Palm\Launcher... The format command created previously, the other directories that I mentioned.

  Once more - files that came in the zip file must remain on your computer, except for the Palm folder.  Because the formatting of the SD in the TX card automatically creates this file, we must manually copy files and files required for the update work.

  I just removed my TX card and inserted into my laptop.

  I copied the three files in the Palm/launcher folder in update (TXUpdater.prc, TXUpdater_enUS.prc, and WifiProfileCopy_enUS.prc) in the Palm/launcher directory on the SD card.

  On the SD card, I see now:

  Inside, the records are the files needed - 3 in Palm/Launcher and 6 inside Palm/TXUpdate.

  Remove the card from the laptop and insert it into the TX.

  When I open the Launcher screen and choose "TestSD" (the name of the SD card that I use) I see two files - "TXUpdater" and "Wifi profile.

  I'm not going to proceed from here since I have already installed the update on this TX.
