  If all your hardware is working properly, I wouldn't worry on this subject. Critical updates for SP1 should be included in SP2. In addition, normally SP2 will not install if you need updates, which must be made beforehand.

  PROBLEM SOLVED! and I feel so stupid, but maybe this will help others. I had downloaded Firefox 36.0 and it was in my applications folder, BUT I kept clicking on the old icon Firefox so still grown 16.0. All this time and I just needed to get out the new icon on the dock and remove the old. Thanks for those who have tried to help me.

  • I run the SP2 Setup (which was updated by the way is only 6 MB is told)
  • I got the warning in close all programs and that it might take several reboots
  • When I click on Next , the dialogue IMMEDIATELY disappears and I get Windows Update says it is installed correctly (and I mean immediately)
  • I find the update history and reports of successful installation but there is no trace of what either updated elsewhere as in the properties of the system or the installed updates
  • I run Windows Update, and it offers to install SP2 again

  I couldn't run even in safe mode.

  So I decided to just do a full reinstall from the recovery partition.
  Given that I had downloaded the full SP2 that combines the previous updates, it looked like a great time.

  SP2 installed without problems now.

  Only problem now is that Lenovo ThinkVantage Updater is not yet compatible with SP2 - but that's for another forum!

• My Q9e will not update for Windows 6.1 with Motorola Software Update.

  It says it has Windows Mobile 6 Standard installed in the section 'About' tools, but after you download and run the software update, it returns a message that the phone has the latest version of the software already installed. Software update is installed on XP sp3. Clues? Not sure 6.1 offers a lot that I need, but I sometimes get an error message that my Internet Explorer browser application is obsolete and should I put to date.   You're not missing too much in 6.1. The most noticeable upgrade would be threaded SMS.

  Good luck with Skyfire. One thing to remember, is that Skyfire works best with a 3G signal. It goes overboard, a slow songs, but does the job. I don't remember whether or not the Q9e is 3G capable.
