  Hello, I recently upgraded to an office update prompted and now the desktop icons no longer appear when I restart the computer. I can click with the right button on the desktop, select display, uncheck 'show descktop', then right click on the desktop again, select "Show the desktop" and they will appear. However, when I restart the computer they will disappear again and I have to re do the process again. I use my desktop icons/shortcuts all the time. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

  Right-click in a space of taskbar oprn > select Task Manager > processes tab > right-click on explorer.exe > click on end process > Applications tab > click New task... > of Opeb, enter explorer.exe > OK when.

  You check office. There the icons? If so, reboot, still exist the icons?

  If the foregoing does nopt working, do a system restore.
  Choose a date where you did not have this problem as your restore point.

  They used to show on the square shapes and ellipses and when I open old files with lines they always show on them too.

  Tried to hide and display the bounding box and switch between the selection and direct (black and white cursor tools) but can't get it to show the normal 8 knots.

  It shows only a knot at each end and when I select and drag the tool Selection normal (black slider) it is the same when I use the direct Selection (white slider) tool and is not right.

• Deleting hotmail contacts - why drop still appear when I start typing in an address?

  I know how to remove a contact from hotmail from my list and was recently when a friend changed her e-mail address. Then, I created a new contact for her.

  However, when I start to type the name of the drop-down list box that appears includes also the old address and details that I already deleted the list of contacts.

  SOLVED! I contacted ACER and they told me to install the launch Manager.

  I got this program already, but as I suspected that I removed this program from the start up.
  That's what they said:

• Greek letters no longer appear when I use fontname-'Symbol' in html/javascript. They work in Microsoft Edge.

  I write code in javascript for astronomers and it uses the symbol for the Greek letters font. When I view the report on the FireFox browser, the Greek letters do not appear on the contrary they are in a different font. My screen to do very well with Microsoft Edge but I like FF better.

  Like the police Symbol fonts that are mapped to ASCII basic set may not work in Firefox.

  It is best to always use the Unicode representation of characters to avoid problems of police because in that case any font that supports of these symbols can be used, and it works on all platforms, if you have a policy that covers this Unicode range.

• Somehow, I lost a user profile. I'm sure I have it has not deleted, but is no longer appears when I start Firefox.

  Make sure that all Firefox processes are closed to show the Profile Manager if you launch Firefox with the '-p' command line switch.
  You can check under the processes tab in Windows Task Manager.

• Unpartitioned space no longer appears when reinstalling

  Hi I have a dell latitude d610, which has windows xp pro. Yesterday I reformatted my computer for the first time and I noticed I had 3 partitions. 1 drive c with the current version of windows, the other was a small FAT partition that I deleted (I now can not select the FAT file system when formatting), and the 3rd is a small space not partitioned.  I continued to delete my c partition and install windows on the only unpartitioned space left. I then installed the drivers in the wrong order and screwed something so I then reinstalled windows AGAIN by removing the c partition, but this time there was no other partitions only drive c.! I realize that I deleted the one fat, but why it isn't more unpartitioned space...? Microsoft says that it will always be there... what I did?   Please, any help is appreciated.

  I have a X 200-212 Vista without SP1.

  When I was updating drivers (after I buy) I lost somehow the function FN and the context-sensitive toolbar. Happened after I installed or update(don't remenber) the toshiba bluetooth stack.
  I have unisntalled toshiba bluetooth stack and installed windows vista as an alternative bluetooth support, and the FN contraption began to work again.

  But in your case I'm guessing its something related to the sp1 version?  :|, lets see if Toshiba updates the X 200 drivers to support the Vista SP1.
