the desktop icons no longer appear when I turn on the computer.

Hello, I recently upgraded to an office update prompted and now the desktop icons no longer appear when I restart the computer. I can click with the right button on the desktop, select display, uncheck 'show descktop', then right click on the desktop again, select "Show the desktop" and they will appear. However, when I restart the computer they will disappear again and I have to re do the process again. I use my desktop icons/shortcuts all the time. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

See if this work...

Right-click in a space of taskbar oprn > select Task Manager > processes tab > right-click on explorer.exe > click on end process > Applications tab > click New task... > of Opeb, enter explorer.exe > OK when.

You check office. There the icons? If so, reboot, still exist the icons?

If the foregoing does nopt working, do a system restore.

Is what is coming up on my screen when I turn firstly my computer asks me to run, I have to, what is? If I should not the lance how can I get rid of him?

I do not have this file on my system, so it's probably a Vista file.  While in Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly during boot to enter the mode safe mode with networking) try to run anti-malware programs because you are probably infected with some form of malware. Do NOT run! To correct this problem download, install, and run the following two programs: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html.  Once you find and remove it, you can stop the scan.  You can also try a free trial of Pandasoft (www.pandasoft.com).  Before you download pandasoft, uninstall all anti-virus program you currently use (because the installation and execution of two simultaneously can cause conflicts, freezes and all sorts of problems).  Once you have uninstalled your current AV program, download, install, update and scan using Pandasoft.  I think you might be amazed at how much she notes that other software missed.  Once complete, uninstall pandasoft and re - install your current AV program (unless you decide to spend that I did when I tried about 4 years ago).  You can also try the new, free Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx (with the same caveat that only program AV one ALONE can be installed and running on your system at any time). Restart after you have completed all the scans.

If these analysis and cleaning to solve the problem (if the box no longer appears), then we will check some of your system files just to be on the safe side:

Go to start / programs Alll / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run. It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well, it is completed with no corruption that he could not repair (cases of corruption, post here).

While we are here, we will check your hard disk by typing chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to repair the bad sectors.

I hope that this will solve the problem.  If not, post it here and we will look at some other troubleshooting steps.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

  • Where can I get a list and a description of the programs that load when I turn on my computer?

I recently bought a Pavilion p7-1010 PC with operating system Windows 7. On my previous HP, I got a list of programs that started when I turned on my computer and those to whom I could remove to start which were really not essential to have running.

Is there a place I can find a similar list for this computer and possibly a recommendation for those who I can disable.

    Thank you

    Mike

rmh56 wrote: thank you for your response Hanspuppa, I am interested in more information on the programs that appear when I start up so that I can determine which are needed and which are not. I want to stop at the start of all programs that are not essential to the functioning of my computer. On my last computer someone gave me a list or a link to a list of programs that allowed me to learn more about the various programs, which were important. Thank you, rmh

Hello rmh56, what would be a little difficult to determine, given that every computer comes with different programs.

I have no way of knowing how to determine which programs can be prevented from leaving on a particular computer.

You can try unchecking each of those entries one at a time and restart the system, or log and see if the programs perform normally, but this could be a very long process.

Unless you are certain that a program is not necessary, I would leave checked.

I just checked my startup programs and I shows that I have 15 startup programs.

This doesn't seem to affect my system performance at all. I check all out them.

    Hey, Izaya_Orihara
If you encounter any problems with your HP computer?

    Method 1
How to fix your damaged OS files:
    1. close all of your applications.
    2. click on start.
    3. Type "cmd" on ' search '.
    4. right click on "cmd" and click "Run As Administrator" and click OK.
    5. Enter "sfc/scannow" (without the quotes).
    6. press ENTER.
    7. If is done, you must restart your computer.
If you do not work with this method, try the second method.

    Method 2
    Install Windows Vista SP2:
You must install SP2 from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-uk/download/details.aspx?id=16468
And the problem has been corrected.

If the two methods don't work, if you have a system recovery disk, open your CD/DVD drive and the put and shut it down.
And can solve problems with your computer.

    Hi Olliewoods,

    (1) since when are you facing this problem?

    (2) what is you receive the exact error message?

An application installed on the computer may be the cause of this problem; I suggest you try the following steps:

Method 1: Put the computer to boot to determine which application is causing the problem.

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.
