Gorilla glass

I scratched my monitor, so I can t understand why not make the gorilla glass screens.

Hi DellBoy333,

Well, that's certainly a good thought. We have some devices, especially those laptops with glass Gorilla technologies incorporated on them like the Dell laptops, some computers laptops and tablets. Basically, the Gorilla glass idea is only limited to laptops, because it is these devices that people carry with them every day and they are more vulnerable to scratches because of travel and bad management, as appropriate.

Monitors on the other hand are devices that are not transferable and are subject to be held in a particular place and are often moved from one place to another. Gorilla glass technology can be used on monitors is always on a stage of development that they are not required. Secondly, if we put Gorilla glass on monitors their cost will be higher than that of a conventional monitor. If your idea is really good and we will pass it as a return to our product team. But now, the Gorilla glass is only limited to laptops.

Maybe sooner or later that we saw also on the monitors!

The data sheet of the Atrix:

I do not use screen protectors because they always add a disability level - there is no way around it. I did have a problem with scratching all glass screen me - even non-Gorilla glass, but Gorilla glass makes it even more difficult to get a scratch.

The popularity of screen protector was born once when touch screens were plastic, and touch non-ecran phones had a clear plastic (Blackberry and other candy bar style phones) case - if you scratched a Pocket PC or Palm touch you have to replace the digitizer everything - and a Burr on your pen and you have sratch - protective kind are cheap insurance.

The fingers will not scratch glass, and unless you upgrade your phone with your keys, you have nothing to fear. But then they did in gorilla glass, so keys and phones can get it

  • the duo of sony 13 has gorilla glass

I received conflicting information. The store rep Sony said yes, as did a review of Ultrabook.com. The representative of call Sony said no, after that she went to get. There is no mention of it on their Sony store website

    Hello cjo34,

Specifications of Marketing for the DUO13 do not have to reference "Gorilla Glass".

That being said, I can tell you that the screen is durable enough for touchscreen everyday usage, however I would advise against putting the heavy weight or pressure on a specific point on the screen.

Here is an excerpt directly in the VAIO manual on this model:
"The LCD screen is made of glass reinforced to implement high durability, however treat the screen carefully because it is not 100% unbreakable."

  • Gorilla glass at the back of the lid protection? (S7-391)

    Hello world!

It is a hardware problem and this will help me to take better care of my ultrabook (Acer Aspire S7-391).

    1. Is it true that the glass of the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 technology to protect the touch screen?
    2. It's true that the back of the cover (where the 'Acer' bright logo is) is also protected with 2 Gorilla glass?

I ask to these two questions because I think I read somewhere but I don't remember where, that the touch screen is protected with gorilla glass 2, but also the back of the cover, so it will not scratches.

The thing is that if it isn't true, I need to know as soon as possible so that I can cover the back of the cover with a protective and transparent skin special and maybe a blanket.

    Thanks in advance.

«Radically thin, extremely strong, scratch-resistant and easy to clean: White Gorilla® glass 2 is the beauty of the series shine of 13.3 "S7 Aspire to a slim 11.9 mm.»

Note the referencce in WHITE Gorilla glass, referring to the otuside. Elsewhere on the site that he speaks on the choice of styles between the Gorilla white glass and aluminum (version 11 ").

In regards to the side House. It certainly feels and sounds (when you type it) glass for me. If his Gorilla glass or not, it's the glass. I wouldn't put a protector to this topic that unlike a phone, it does not rub against the pockets with grain in them or anything like that. It won't be scratched with a fingernail, etc.. Protectors, which size are difficult to achieve without bubbles and can adversely affect the clarity of the screen.

  • Gorilla glass more camera?

Info question of the day - is the small window on the Droid X camera also made of gorilla glass, or is this something more vulnerable? I tend to wipe before using the camera, and I would like to know if I should take more care with it to avoid degradation due to scratches.

Mikey... I use the small cloth supplied with my screen protects.

  • A2109 - what is the screen? I guess what no gorilla glass?

    Hello

I have 2 of A2109 on command.  I was trying to get an iPad, but saw these on sale at Newegg for 229 and decided that I could get one for my wife and one for me for the same price as a single Apple device.  And specifications are superb.  Yes, I'm sure someone will remind me on the screen, but I don't think that that's going to bother me. Which brings me to my question: what covers the screen?  Glass of what that it is special or simply?  I don't expect exotic glass at this price, but I was wondering if there is anything knows what it covers?  Thank you.

Never mind.  According to this, it's just glass.

  • Gorilla 3 Moto G and oleophobic glass?

    Hello

My question is: bike G a oleophobic coating (or similar) on its 3 of Gorilla glass?

The reason for this question is: I recently used sanitary towels (containing the solution of ethanol) to clean my phone and now I have the feeling that the fingerprints and grime come together faster on my screen. Or am I paranoid. I hope for the latter :-)

Thank you for the constructive responses

    Hey potato.

The recommended cleaning procedure would be to use isopropyl rubbing alcohol to gently wipe the back cover of the Moto G and let dry. It is not specifically designed for the screen, as chemical vipers, different levels of grain and more being used thoughout various brands can actually do something on the screen.

I would not personally go towels hygienic but rather for wipes, what would you use for glasses. But then again, a cleaning with a wet cloth is not always necessary. To reduce the chemical stress for the screen just use a dry screen wipe for the drinks, they are designed to pick up mechanically fat as your fingers.

If you are worried about germs, note that a glass surface clean (being dry regularly wiped to remove fat accumulation) does not seeds of increase at all.

    Hope that helps.

    See you soon,.

  • iPhone SE glass?

Hi, I looked in the manual technical specification, online and sought this community and find nothing. What type of glass the phone has it, and how does this compare with Gorilla glass? I need know if I should buy a cover of the screen or not.

There is not need to purchase a screen cover - to use one or not is purely your choice.  Some people use them, some do not.  I do not use them and have not had a problem with any screen of the iPhone.  Gorilla glass is just brand name Corning for their glass of high resistance.  Many other glass manufacturers produce similar types of glass and Apple does not say that one they use for their devices.

  • iPod touch glass

What type of glass is used for the iPod touch (6th generation)?

Is recommended that the additional screen protections are installed?

It seems that it is glass Gorilla from DC

    http://www.CultofMac.com/304120/Corning-Gorilla-glass-4/

Unless you're I have a gritty/dusty environment when you receive the grain on your finger and thus perhaps slightly scratch/fog the glass with repeated use screen I would not use a screen protector

  • Crack of 1 pixel screen MacBook Pro early 2015

    Hi all

I own a MacBook Pro of the 2015 at the beginning and I recently discovered a problem with the retina display (so-called "gorilla glass").

I only have the MacBook since January this year, and I have recently discovered a small hole about 1 pixel wide screen. It seems that the screen is cracked and I see directly in the hole of the next layer of the screen. At first, I thought it was just some dust and I tried to clean it up, but it did not help.

I did some research and saw that people also had similar problems and sudently woke up seeing these annoying small cracks on the screen.

Here are some videos and pictures of what it looks like:

What I'm curious to know, is if this applies to the guarantee and if I can send it to apple so that they can change my screen.

I understand that it looks like it was an accident made by me, but it's not.

I can still use the MacBook, but that little crack is so boring, it's like a distraction.

Anyone apple support can help me with this? The nature of my question is eligible for the guarantee of apple?

You better Genius Bar appointment to show the screen of your MacBook Pro and ask if she applies for warranty.

I think you should pay for the cost of replacement LCD, however.

  • Too much like Samsung: why not try it?

Apple users don't want all our applications, notifications or 'ways to use the phone' or 'like samsung or android phones." Which will lead more people to their market. What happened to the innovative apple, which launched the iPhone? Nobody had seen a scrolling screen [when deflected] front. Nobody had seen apps or internet the iPhone in a way he did.

Instead of looking to make things look more uniform like other telephone companies... Why not try to do something nobody has ever done before.

Optical Lafarge, for example designed glasses that will put the glasses of google to shame. There is technology out there to make a phone clears the screen. You could still have the top and the bottom of the iPhone is the black bar where your battery would be in place etc. so that everyone can have the phone, they always wanted: phone The Tony Stark.

It is quite easy for you to understand if he arrived at the place of the apple logo on the back of the phone or on the bottom or a chassis etc, but why not "two" batteries Wireless charging. a redesigned (as your macbook) to adapt the new clear phone (bottom) and the second to be located in the other "non-transparent" part as a solar powered battery to make it load when your phone is just sitting on its own... Obviously not as fast as being connected or wireless... but nevertheless he would become the first HYBRID phone that everyone has been waiting for.

This is how I think that APPLE should do things. Being innovative doesn't mean "do what that other people do copy and then try to do better." That's what competition is supposed to do. When apple came out with new phones from iPhone to iPhone 4, they put the competition to shame. I remember a commercial Android who says more 'fast as the iPhone.' A week later, a new iPhone is released and put that commercial to shame so it never aired again.

It's the Apple, we know and love. So if you want to be ahead of the market for any other mobile device, then you will make a clear phone out of the gorilla glass or hard extra stuff that is currently in your watches, so it is not breaking when you sneeze and you put wireless charge, a second solar battery, and siri will continue to improve as you work toward him making similar to an AI interactive as she understands us.

So I guess the question really is: apple decides to take these technological leaps, or can I apply for a job at the company to throw these ideas around? (half joking about that second part.
