GPIB-ENET 21 error code

Hi Andrea!

The problem you are experiencing may be solve if you update the firmware of your GPIB-ENET. To do this, depending on your operating system, see the manual supplied with your GPIB-ENET.

If this does not resolve the issue, most likely your GPIB-ENET must repair.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • GPIB write error code 6, how to make good waiting in comm GPIB

    Hello!

    I use a MUX Keithley and a digital Voltmeter to measure different values in my system, including the resistance of the wire 4. My project runs for several hours without any problem, but last night I got an error after about 8 hours DURATION. My mistake in the main vi shows the following error:

    GPIB Write in A_4Wire_resMUX_2!1,2!3,2!5_new.vi Error code 6.

    I have attached this Subvi, as you can see, I put a while loop in the Subvi to give enough time to measure 4 son to do. But of course maybe another function GPIB write hangs in the Subvi, not that after the while loop.

    I have 2 questions:

    1. What is the best way to make the error handling in comm GPIB, so I could see on my final mistake on what caused the problem in this certain sub - VI?

    2. can someone show me what I could do better in this sub - VI, in order to avoid possible errors of GPIB?

    Its just guessing, but I think the error comes from that I can't give enough time to the GPIB device to perform an action, then the next writing of GPIB breaks down?

    Now that you have a modern version of LabVIEW why are you not taking advantage of the instrument driver network?  VISA is beautiful and 488,2 gross primitives should consider as "obsolete".

    Since you did not use the specific instrument driver vi we cannot say that write on this device generates the error that you are experiencing.

    So to specifically answer to Q1.  Use the driver found on the instrument driver network - they are tested and structured in a way to help debug your application and to take advantage of the powerful features of VISA...

  • ERROR CODE 6 GPIB READ

    Hello

    I enclose a VI that measures and displays capacity depending on the tension swept to a "keithley 590" meter.  In the llb file fix, I use the vi called "590-CV Measurement.vi.

    I get the error 'error Code 6 in reading GPIB in 590-CV Meaurement.vi.

    The VI is supposed to display the data as a table and as a graph. I see the sweeping of instrument keithley tension but no data is displayed and the code 6 error which means 'Operation of e/s abandoned' as indicated

    Thank you very much

    Poli

    Hey polished.

    Thanks for the files.  I searched through the conductor of the intrument and the spy file to establish a correlation between the behavior we see with function calls.  I would that try you two things and I would like to know the results.

    First of all open the 590 CV - Measurement.vi and discovers the block diagram.  In the Structure of the event, select the event "Run".  Here, on the second line of function calls you fine one labelled GPIB Read.  The upper part of this VI has a terminal of Timeout.  Create a digital constant of 0 and it wire to this Terminal.  Run your program and see what see you.

    Once this test is done, delete the changes (the addition of the digital constant).  Then change the numerical value that is connected to the same GPIB Read command any value less than 20000, it is the value (10000 or something).  This will change the number of bytes, the function tries to call and hopefully prevent expire.

    Let me know what you get results.

  • VIsa error code: 1073807195

    I have set up a debug for coding environment. I use c# mode for remote debugging. The program running on my laptop and camera and GPIB Board are on another machine. When my code (laptop) run this sentence: mbSession = (MessageBasedSession (ResourceManager.GetLocalManager(":GPIB0:16:INSTR"). There is a mistake: the interface type is valid, but the number of specified interface is not configured.  VISA-1073807195 (0xBFFF00A5), ErrorInterfaceNumberNotConfigured error code. But I can't find the instrument by NIMAX (on another machine). So I guess I have to use my laptop to install the device control and GPIB card directly. Am I wrong? Now the problem is that my laptop can't install a GPIB card and I have to use this mode for remote debugging. How can I do? does anyone have experience?

    Hardware solution: use a USB-HS-GPIB adapter

    Software solution: try "VISA of distance." See How can I check my VISA from another computer device?

  • VISA-1073807343 error code when using ResourceManager.GetLocalManager (). FindResources (filter) to detect the map of Pickering PXI

    I'm upgrading our test system for Windows 7 and NI Developer Suite 2012 DS2 in Windows XP and NI Developer Suite 2008 4th quarter. I have a problem with the help of VISA to detect devices PXI of Pickering. The problem occurs with the next .NET NationalInstruments.VisaNS.ResourceManager.GetLocalManager () call. FindResources (filter). I use the filter "PXI? * INSTR.

    To trouble shoot this problem I was using the VISA program FindResources.2008 c# example. I get the following error message when you apply the "PXI? * INSTR"filter. "Where not enough information or the device or resource is not present in the system. VISA-1073807343 (0xBFFF0011), ErrorResourceNotFound error code.

    Looking at other markets, I infer that VISA is not find the maps. I came across the same error message when I tried to launch the "GPIB? * INSTR"filter however I determined that there was a problem with the NOR-488 driver. 2. after having repaired the driver of the FindResources.2008 program would find the GPIB instruments using the "GPIB? * INSTR"filter.

    Max the Pickering cards appear in "Devices and Interfaces" and are listed as follows:
    12: PCI Device 'PXI12::9:INSTR '.
    15: PCI Device 'PXI13::13:INSTR '.

    In XP, the cards have been identified as:
    PXI12::9:InStr (Pickering 40-785-522)
    PXI13::13:InStr (Pickering 40-780-522)

    Also Max for each device, I am able to open the Panel to Test VISA.

    Any ideas why the VISA is not able to detect these cards?

    Thank you

    I thought about it. Apparently I needed Windows 7 to install the driver for cards of Pickering. I guess the "PXI VPP / VISA drivers" supplied by Pickering Test would take care of this.

    Until Windows has installed the driver of Pickering cards have been listed as a PCI device under 'other devices '. After installation, the cards have been listed under "devices PXI of NI-VISA.

    MAX the card now are listed as:

    12: Pickering 40-785-522 'PXI12::9:INSTR '.

  • Executable cannot find the custom error code file

    I'm building a LabVIEW 2013 application on a Windows 7 computer and deploying it to a Windows XP computer. My application has a custom error code file, stored in -- errors.txt, but my executable on the Windows XP machine can't find the custom error file and returns only the string of appeal for all errors that occur.

    When you use is not an installer, I tried to copy the error code at all locations listed here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6077DBEDA4F9FEE3862571F600449501 but the application still does not load the custom errors. I have the box checked to "Error Codes customized Include" in the construction specifications.

    When an executable of construction and the development of Windows 7 to XP, where do I put the custom error code file? It is found in Program Files (x 86), but find not because it's XP?

    It's been a few months that I posted this question and I do not know if someone cares about this track, but the solution I found was to put the custom in error code file \National Instruments\Shared\Errors\English\

    There are other places that the runtime will look for the custom error codes (I tried all the ones listed above), if the same error codes exist in 2 places the error popup will appear two error messages. Error default 1, it looks like:

    LabVIEW: An input parameter is not valid. For example if the input is a path, the path can contain a character not allowed by the operating system such as? or @.
    =========================
    NOR-488: Command requires GPIB controller charge controller.

    So if you have a custom error code file and it is available in 2 places that LabVIEW RTE check error codes, you will get the same message before and after the =.

    List the error as "still included" file when building the executable or by checking the box to include files in error did not tour, obviously. Unless you create a Setup program to distribute the application, the error code file must be moved manually. Shared\Errors file works best for me because it's a place that makes sense.

    Also, don't worry - it doesn't me taken 5 months to understand this point, I do not update all my loyal followers (ha) with a solution.

  • GPIB/ENET 100 connects but cannot pass utility Troubleshooting Test or detect instruments

    Hello

    I'm trying to control two power supplies (AC and DC) Agilent by GPIB. To connect to the computer, I use a GPIB/ENET 100 device but make me connection errors.

    In the beginning, I followed the steps detailed here (http://www.ni.com/gettingstarted/setuphardware/instrumentcontrol/gpibenet.htm) and managed to connect using wizard Ethernet GPIB. Initially, I only ran the software verification of the troubleshooter NOR 488.2 and thought everything was working well, since after having wiped. When I went to the MAX, however, the produced instrument scan and error. I don't have the instrument which I have now so I can't be too specific I want but the error was different from those I saw in the troubleshooting resources. He simply said something to the effect of "there was an error."

    During troubleshooting, I found that the device has failed to pass the test of the troubleshooter nor 488.2. I tried a few fixes suggested in the help option of public service including moving ping IP and suggestions for change. Ping has been answered, but she came from a different IP address and said something to the effect of non-responsive, while the same amount of packets that have been sent back and none were lost. Initially, I tried to adjust IP the device manually to the previously defined address and everything else (the subnet mask, etc.) set to zero. Then I tried corresponding subnet of the computer, then by asking Assistant Ethernet GPIB to suggest an address, then the first with the IP address itself has changed to the previously defined address and finally the DHCP option (wouldn't cross). None of these worked and got the same results of the ping command. In fact, when I'd go to MAX to check for changes to the intellectual property, they would not be there, and I enter the values again. Nothing I have tried so far has led to the aircraft passing the test of the utility.

    I went through all of the fixes suggested in the troubleshooter nor 488.2 and searched online but nothing worked. I would really apprecate some help on this issue and hope that someone on this forum has addressed a similar problem. Finally, if you need me to post screenshots or specific error messages, I can do so starting Monday.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Yusif,

    How did the GPIB/ENET 100 connected to your PC?  Is it connected via a router or is - this directly connected via an ethernet cable?  When the GPIB/ENET 100 is connected to a router, it might get an IP via DHCP, but when it is connected directly, you should make sure your PC and the ENET 100 are on the same "network".  This means that you will need to make sure your firewall is disabled on your PC (to start) and ensure that the address IP of your PC and the ENET 100 range are similar, as well as the mask subnet for both devices.  Can you confirm that you have done this?  Please let me know and I'll do my best to help!

  • Error code: 800 b 0001 (cannot install will want to)

    Hi Please help I tried to solve the problem for a few days now and I'm running out of ideas.

    I can't download windows updates at all because I get error 800 b 0001.  I tried to go bad it and found the solution to download windows update readiness tool.  I downloaded this but trying to install it, I get the message: Setup autonomous windows update encountered an unkown error 0x800b0001 trust provider.  I have no idea why this is happening, probably I should be able to install anyway?

    I also tried a solution I found in the forum who said to open start > run and enter a few commands such as regsvr32 initpki.dll.  There are a number of different commands eneter but this one declaring failed:

    The module 'initpki.dll' failed to load.

    Make sure the binary is stored at the specified location or debug it to check for problems with the binary .dll or individual files to load.

    The specified module could not be found

    Hello

    I installed "NOR-488. ' 2 (Linux) Version 2.5 for Linux - 32-bit ' under Suse 10. Now, I try to add the GPIB-ENET/100 with gpibexplorer but failed:

    1. I have connected the GPIB_ENET/100 directly to the computer (eth1) with a crossover cable.

    2. as a result of gpibexplorer guests, I observed the PWR/RDY LED is orange flick so configured IP address/hostname as 192.168.1.2.

    3. then I clicked on the button 'search for GPIB-ENET/100', I had 'no device to display.

    4. I configured the IP address/host name as 'NIENET', which is the default hostname printed on the rear side of the unit and got the same result at step 3.

    5. one thing I need to mention is that I installed nienet-linux - 1.2 before and the ENET box didn't work with it either. I put

    192.168.1.2 NIENET gpib0

    in the file/etc/hosts and I have deleted all the files of this facility.

    My questions are:

    1. in GPIB, will I set of Configuration IP address AND host name or IP OR hostname? If it is "OR", they must be linked in what file?

    2. "NIENET" is the default host name. How to change?

    3. What is the problem with my setup?

    Thanks in advance and best regards,

    Weining

    Hi Weining,

    to be able to set up a NEW ethernet device, it must be connected to eth0 - otherwise the GPIB Explorer won't be able to find it. Which is clearly described in the referenced article, and there is no work around for this need.

    You can only configure devices on eth1 if they already have an assigned static IP address.

    Then please follow the steps below (summary of the article that you and I already linked):

    (1) connect the new ENET/100 to eth0

    (2) open the GPIB Explorer, select "New Devce" and click on the "Search" button to find the box.

    (3) select the found device and change its IP settings to keep the network connection on eth1 and leave the Explorer GPIB

    (4) now unplug the eth0 device and connect it to eth1

    (5) restart the GPIB Explorer, choose 'New' and enter the static IP address you gave the ENET box.

    Best regards
