  I have a question of time, when I want to read the GPIB instruments at the same time (1 to 24 instruments with 2 cards GPIB - GPIB0 and GPIB1).  The user can choose the number of instruments that it will read.

  For 17 instruments chosen for example, is an array of 17 lines connected to a loop where playback GPIB is made (see TestVi and Loop.jpeg). It took about 5 seconds to get all the data.

  But if I just copy 17 times playback (configured as a falling) Vi in a simple vi as in Untitled2.vi, tool around 1.5 sec to get all the data for the same conifguration! (See without for loop.jpeg)

  How could I read as fast as in the 2 without title vi with a for loop or something else in order to allow users to set more or less instruments without copying playback Vi once the configuration has changed?

  I tried to use call a VI dynamically , but it did not work.

  You should be able to find examples in the Finder for example of NOR (help > OR Finder in LabVIEW example) by searching for the term "Asynchronous".

  In 2013, there are a few examples located in the place shown in my sceenshot.

• Problem with 2 GPIB instruments

  I work in a program with LabView 2015 this control 2 instruments, the Rohde & Schwarz Smiq02b signal generator and Analyzer of spectrum n9010a Agilent EXA. I use the cable Agilent - 82357 B USB/GPIB to connect my laptop with these two instruments (PC-> EXA-> Doganovic). I also installed the two drivers of instruments from their official websites.

  The program worked correctly until I had to format my computer and reinstall LabView but something wrong now.

  The problem comes when I run the program, is unable to initialize the SMIQ02b, the program stops and opens a new window of block diagram. This block diagram belongs to a block driver the instruments within this scheme, there is a VISA write flashing block.

  

  This only happens when I'm initializing two instruments in the same program, if I create a new VI and use the Doganovic only, I have no problem.

  I don't know what is happening, it is very strange that it worked well before, and now this happens.

  That's what I installed in my laptop:

  -2015 LabView
  -NI Device Drivers (included NI-VISA 14.0 and NOR-488. 2 14.0)

  -Agilent IO libraries Suite (configured as secondary VISA) 17.1

  -Passport OR VISA for tulip IT

  I have an instrument connected to a PC via a GPIB interface. At another place, I have the same facility. Both PC's connected to the network (tcp/ip).

  Now, I want to run an application of measure written in CVI on the shild PC. This application must control the instrument connected to this PC and the network of the company, the instrument connected to the PC first.

  My question, how does this get up and running. This achievable with LabWindows/CVI? Is there somewhere a piece of code of demo I can adapt and use?

  Ideas are welcome.

  You can use the VISA server. In MAX, you can select a device to be available on a network. On the pc where you want to control, you use MAX > remote systems to find the instrument. After that, your code uses a VISA resource name as if it were a local resource.

  I guess you mean the trial version.

  There is no limit to a trial unless the license 30 days version and the transparent message.

  You will also need to install devicedrivers and then you can program really.

  Did you do a right-click on the control of the chain and select ' \'Codes display? If you do not, the stop character is not sent.

• GPIB instrument legacy Microlink 4000 using GPIB-USB-HS

  Hi all

  I face three recorders of older data, Microlink 4000, connected through GPIB and interfacing with my PC through GPIB-USB-HS.

  There is no drivers for data loggers...

  Their main in MAX addresses are displayed and I am able to send commands, but I'm not sure what to do now to begin to read the data recorded by each module.

  I think that I am just not access to the secondary address of each module or using the wrong commands. I've scoured the web for the manuals and orders 488,1 but they do not work in the interactive control of VISA.

  that is (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Read error occurs whenever I ask devices...

  Specification of the system:

  • power supply 3 x 4301
  • control units 3 x 4300
  • basic unit of time 1 x 4010
  • 34 x 4030 (12 Bit A - D converters)

  I apologize if I have not attached enough information still very new to LabVIEW and MAX.

  I have a problem.  I did a Labview program with two devices made by GPIB. One of them now work correctly.  I "scan for instruments" inside MAX and now it only 'see' one of them.  I checked the connections and they are ok. I don't know what to try more, because I change anything and before it worked.

  What can I in order to this instrument appears again?

  Well, I finally had a few problems with GPIB addresses.  The first time I used the devices that they have been configured, but it changed suddenly.

  I chose a different address and now everything works fine.

• Blue screen (BSOD) and communicate with GPIB instruments

  I have a communication problem with a Pressuregenerator of PCS400 of Mory via NI-VISA. My simple application sends requests to the instrument and reads returned responses. These actions are performed in a while loop until you press the stop button on the front. The VISA-resource is initialized before the while loop and closed after leaving the loop.
  Now the problem is that the computer will work in a blue screen with the message "NMI: check / memory parity error parity." This blue screen can be caused by switching between the programwindow and another window (for example the file Explorer) - I know it sounds strange. Then the blue screen appears after about 20 seconds. The computer worked stable in the daily work with windows.

  I have already tried several things
  -Wait a while (up to 30 ms) after writing and reading of VISA-online blue screen
  -Communicate with the Agilent 34401 multimeter with the same program (but other requests of course)-online no crash!
  -Test memory on system for about 45 hours with memtest86 + -online no found error
  -Stresstest with Prime95 (product 100% of CPU load) for about 1.5 hours on windows => no crash

  Style calls (alias calls NOR-488. 2 multi-device) IEEE 488.2 use a two-byte addressing scheme where the subaddress is in the high byte.

  I downloaded the driver Plug-and-Play (project-style) for Agilent 8648 A generator of signals. I use LabVIEW 2011.

  I open the file project and resource VISA name menu, select COM1. Note that I use 82350B of the PCI-GPIB Interface Card.

  I run the project, and I get timeout error.

  Is there a problem in the PCI-GPIB interface or am I missing something? I'm new to LabView and PCI-GPIB interface, and I'd appreciate any help.

  Given that you do not use a NI GPIB, go to MAX, select software and NI-VISA. In the right window, click the Options of VISA, and then select passports under general settings. Check on the passport of NI-VISA for Tulip.

  I'm assumimg you loaded the driver of Agilent and tested the communication with their software.

• Connection of an instrument with GPIB-USB connection.

  I am trying to use a GPIB-USB adapter to control a unit of Source of LabView. However, I have problems my instrument drivers to recognize the GPIB address specified for the device. I have attached an image below the address specified by IO Keysight connection Expert. I am currently trying to initialized the EMS with the GPIB driver I have attached below. Because of my knowledge limited in LabView instrument control, how should I approach of collecting the correct address of GPIB and recognize it in my VI?

  Before we dig into the LabVIEW code, I would recommend a Test Panel of max aperture and trying to communicate with. Are you able to send orders via Keysight connection Expert or NI MAX and see the valid data?

  In addition, when you run the vi in LabVIEW, is pilot it returns an error in the error on the box? If so, what the error is?

• MAX does not show my Instrument GPIB

  I have an instrument which I control through GPIB interface.

  The instrument is a model of arbritraty 301 Wavetek function generator.

  I already downloaded and installed the drivers for this mode of the instrument.

  I want to control this instrument through PXI My system having integrated controller NI PXI-8105.

  The controller itself have connector GPIB whereby I connect the instrument Fgen. SO the GPIB address would be 0.

  Today, Max under 'devices and interfaces' it shows GPIB0(PCI-GPIB).:manhappy:

  When I am pressing the button "Scan for instrument" then it shows that the error occurred and no instrument is however I connect the Fgen and provided properly.

  It gives no details about the error.

  Device OR 488.2 driver is also installed in the PXI.

  In the function generator is a logical address of the device selection option. who is correctly set to 2. I tried with change to 0 also, but it did not work.

  Is this really the problem with the Instrument itself?

  Today I received my GPIB instrument, don't know how.

  Probably as a result may be the reason...

  Yesterday, at the start when the instrument has not been detected, I thought and he got a solution that NEITHER 488. 2 has not been installed on this system. (In referance for this 488.2 NOR being not installed I had posted a message before saying that "could not install NOR 488.2 on PXI '-he was rolling back, I had also placed pictures of this facility.)   Then I tried installed NI 488. 2 (yesterday), but failed with the same error. After 2 tries, it was installed successfully, but could not fund the reason for this... (You can help me if you find the reason for this... See the error in installation OR 488.2 PXI system)

  After you install the NI-488. 2, I tried again to find my GPIB instruments. but I got the same error. It should be noted that I had not restarted my computer after installing NI-488. 2.

  I think this must be the reason not to detect the instrument yesterday...
