GPS navagation in labview frame format

Hello

I have a question in the GPS Simulator toolkit. GPS Simulator generates data GPS based on selected ephemeris and almanac files from the links provided in the manual. The niGPSWritewaveformtofile.vi file generates the GPS data in an external file (.bin file).  The Simulator may generate frames navagation in RINEX format? Alternatively, LabView can convert the bin file to the RINEX format?

Thank you

Long

Hello, for a long time,

The Simulation of GPS tool is designed to generate the over-the-air signal, as evidenced by a GPS antenna. You cannot use it to treat incoming GPS data or generate post-traite GPS data.

It may be possible to convert GPS data in RINEX format, but the GPS Toolbox does not any method to do so. It would be necessary to perform demodulation and decoding of the GPS signal yourself to achieve.

    Hello

Is it me, or there is no fitness application that can capture HR and GPS to be collected and reviewed online? I understand that native watch OS 2.0 applications now have the ability to read the data of the health package, including human resources. I would like to find an app that runs on Watch OS and its application of "Companion" of iOS, which will collect the training info (if all goes well at a minimum, HR, GPS and derived information such as speed and distance) and send it online for various activities such as hiking, running, cycling. I used to love card my blah... but since UA * bough all of them, it seems that they block the development of features that will read the data such as the High Representative, in favor of their own overpriced accessories. I sold my other devices because Apple Watch had everything I wanted. Why is there not an app (free or paid) that can do this simple task?

  • JPEG or png in the .cur format conversion?

    Hello everyone

My request is to load the icons on the image in JPG or png or bmp formats supported by labviw

After loding all the icons on the 2d image. If I want to move from one point to the other point, I want to do the icon as the cursor image.

In this process, so I need to convert an image format jpg or png or bmp in image through labview .cur format.

    Thank you.

LabVIEW does not directly support conversion between image formats and does not support the format of the cursor, as image format at all (it support for cursors).  However, you can still do what you want to do, but you will have to do it in a different way.  Here are a few possibilities:

    1. Do everything in a single image control.  Use the mouse events (move, up, down,...) to control what icon is picked up upward and where it goes.  You can move the icon through a picture by program control.
    2. Use two image controls.  The first contains your full image.  When you take an icon, remove it from the first image order and transfer it to the second, which is transparent and is on the first.  When you move the mouse, move the second image programmatically control using mouse events.

There are a multitude of variations on these basic ideas.  All will require some playing around to get events works fine for you, but you should be able to do.  Good luck.  Let us know if you need more information.

  • Time GPS

    Hello everyone,

I work with a device which provide me time GPS,.

as far as I know, it should be time since the beginning of the week...

    My question is:

Is there a built in functions to display the time GPS in DD HH: mmS format or any other format?

    Thanks in advance,

    AJ

Well, coming to the CVI world ( ) you can take a look at CVITime utility library functions: If your instrument returns a string representation of the time, you can use extract the individual components of the chain and pass them to the CVIAbsoluteTimeFromLocalCalendar () function, which returns the time in Format binary time of National Instruments.

You can also use Windows SYSTEMTIME format and related functions.

Finally, you can use MakeDateTime () to get a double representation of date and time.

  • Ethernet 802.3 vs Ethernet II frame

    Hi guys,.

There are 2 types of framing Ethernet: 802.3 and Ethernet II.

According to cisco "Ethernet II is the Ethernet frame format used in TCP/IP networks." So what of the 802.3 frame? I'm not really able to find an explanation...

Thanks in advance and best regards

    Adam

EDIT: Did a small test in Packet Tracer and Wireshark and the frame is actually an Ethernet II frame, for example:

    Hi Adam,.

I apologize for the late response, I got a little more busy day.

Hmm, so if the length (in a container 802.3 and Frame 802.2 LLC header) indicates how long all the "header field and the 802.2 data ' is, so I can't imagine what this filed can be used... or is it purely to distinguish between an Ethernet II and LLC 802.2, 802.2 SNAP frame, no less and more?

Well, the length field is exactly what he says to you: it expresses the size of the portion of any payload of the image, in bytes.

Remember that the 802.3 container base consists of the following fields or parts:

    DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, Message, Checksum

Notice that, except parts of Message, all other fields have a fixed length: DstMAC and SrcMAC are 6 bytes long, the length is 2 bytes long, Checksum is 4 bytes long. The Message is a size variable, and the gate length field the size of the whole message. The Message itself may be structured internally in different subdomains - it can contain LLC header, SNAP header, other headers and then the message carried by the framework, but at length, is not serious. It describes the size of the part of the entire Message, regardless of how it is structured internally.

You can have a valid question, if the length field is really needed if Ethernet II can function without it. Of course, technically, you can just fine. IEEE must have felt at the time where the presence of a length field has been a natural thing - this feeling ultimately proved is not particularly useful. On the other hand, it does damage, either.

Also, when I look back at your Wireshark capture (on the first package) and browse the Ethernet IEEE 802.3 frame I see the length value (is it in bits?) but miss me the 802.2 header and escrowed data.

The 105 in the length field value is the combined size of the field 'Logical-Link Control' (control + PAAS DSAP = 3 bytes) and the Spanning Tree Protocol (102 bytes) message. Remember, what you (and Cisco) call '802.2 header and data field' is the 802.2 LLC consisting of DSAP + control + SSAP (you see in Wireshark as "Logical link control", and the data that is the Protocol Spanning Tree message itself.

As always, we invite you to ask for more!

  • 802.3 frames naming conventions ether.

    Goal

The difference between the types of framing 3/4.

    Frames

There are therefore four types of frames of the ether.

    a. Moose Ethernet frame "aka" Ethernet 10

    b. framework IEEE 802.3 LLC "aka" Ethernet 802.3

    c. IEEE 802.3 with SNAP

    d. Eternet 2 "aka" revised IEEE 802.3

I get this what throw me is that every book is calling it something different, I need clarity here with good names for these different frame types. For example (b.) is called IEEE 802.3 LLC, Ethernet 802.3 or something else?

What do you call the 4 types to distinguish the difference between them?

And what does it matter in the preamble? Do I just need to know what size of 8 bytes, or should I understand used signs?

    CCIE written prep.

    Hello Samuel,.

I get this, whats throwing me is that each book is calling them  something different, I need clarity here with the correct names for  these different frame types. For example is (b.) called IEEE 802.3 LLC,  Ethernet 802.3 or something else?

Well, we will look at individual types and let me grab that from my point of view, not to comment on the options at first.

The original Ethernet 1 frame was the initial implementation of Xerox Ethernet and according to Wikipedia, it has never been commercially deployed. In fact, I have trouble finding any specification on this prehistoric Ethernet format. You shouldn't bother with that much, because this type of frame is completely obsolete.

The second generation of Ethernet, also called Ethernet II, 2 Ethernet or Ethernet DIX, was developed by Xerox in cooperation with the digital and Intel. These three names - Ethernet II, 2 Ethernet and Ethernet 10 refer all the same frame format - one that we are now using:

    DstMAC, SrcMAC, EthType, data, FCS.

When TEN approached IEEE with the request to standardize the Ethernet, IEEE taken and made a little twist on the frame format, making it a little closer to HDLC which is a format of popular base at that time frame. What resulted has a skeleton base chassis:

    DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, data FCS

Note that the only difference is in the redefinition of the EthType field for the field "length". There was also a change of format in the preamble but that pass for now. This Ethernet IEEE base frame skeleton is standardized in 802.3.

I call the 802.3 a skeleton for a reason. It isn't really a format usable frame because this frame structure is absent of any identification payload. Simply, not sure what is the framework. IEEE obviously did not intend this skeleton 802.3 frame to be used just that clearly, but rather, they reused the HDLC logical link control and they adapted for Ethernet in their standard 802.2. This adaptation of the LLC consisted of adding at least three bytes of the header (flight bytes of the data section because the frame was not allowed to grow bigger): bytes DSAP, PAAS and control. So, when we take the skeleton 802.3 and composed it with the fields 802.2 LLC derived, we get

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, DSAP, PAAS, control, data, FCS

This format of image in its entirety should be called 802.2 LLC. Note that if you call it 802.3 LLC, you say nothing wrong - you have the basic skeleton 802.3 more the 802.2 LLC. Personally, I like to call it 802.2 LLC, however.

Soon, the limits of this frame format is apparent, as the DSAP/SSAP fields to describe the Protocol within the framework are just 1 byte of length, including half of the values being reserved for private/group dealing with service and the remaining values are too few to describe all protocols with realism of existing top level (not even mention a rigid process to get an official SAP for a protocol value). Therefore, IEEE came with the snap-snap-IN image format that retains the basic structure of the 802.2 LLC, but steals another 5 bytes of the data field for the Protocol provider number YES and Protocol. The entire frame would then become

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, DSAP, PAAS, control, YES, ProtoID, data, FCS

Curiously, this component extension snap-in is described in the document 802 Basic (no matter what 802.x additive). Therefore, this format of frame must be called simply SNAP 802.

    So to summarize:

DstMAC, SrcMAC, EthType, FCS data: Ethernet II, Ethernet 10 Ethernet 2

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, data FCS: IEEE 802.3 (not really usable, just a basic container)

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, DSAP, PAAS, control, data, FCS: IEEE 802.3 AND IEEE 802.2 LLC

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, DSAP, PAAS, control, YES, ProtoID, data, FCS: IEE 802 SNAP

And how important in the preamble field? Do I just need to know that  it's 8 bytes in size, or do I need to understand the signalling used?

There are more important things on the R & S of CCIE written that the preamble of Ethernet, but just in case:

    10 = 802.3 preamble preamble + 802.3 start Frame delimiter

    Preamble: 7 bytes of 10101010 binary (0xAA or 170)

    Delimiter of start-of-Frame = 1 byte of binary 10101011 (0xAB 171 or)

IEEE comes officially divided the 8 b 10 terrainpour 7 b preamble they call preamble and 1 b called SOF field.

    Welcome to ask for more!

  • duration of multiple clips frame

I am sure that in a previous version of first, you can select several clips (when the calendar is configured to display the time in frames) and the info panel shows the duration combined in similar when frames you current select a single element. However in the latest version, when you select multiple clips, it doesn't show in the timecode format than ever.

How can I display the duration of a selection of several clips in the form of frames?

  • To change the display Format in the Source Panel?

    Hello

I'm creating a montage in music where the cool pulse of the melody is exactly 63 frames long.

First, I want to do all my video clips for mounting either the length or a multiple of it in the Source Panel and then assemble them all like Lego blocks in the timeline in the montage master Dziga Vertov constructivist tradition.

This seems to be a standard workflow.

The film was shot in 24 frames per second.

By the screenshot below, I've changed my display of "Frames" format because it is easier to calculate the 63 frames repetitively in the source of 2 seconds and 15 Panel each time for 85 video clips.

But after you make this change below, only my Panel schedule and program display settings of this new, while my Panel source displays in minutes/seconds/images.

Is there a way to do as my source poster Panel only frames, rather than time expired in the size of the seconds/frame?

    Thank you!

    Possible reasons:

VISA: Invalid resource Reference (Hex 0xBFFF0012) specified. Parse error

I use the same version of Labview on both computers, Labview 8.5 and the only difference between the two machines is that my laptop using Windows Vista and my work computer Windows XP. I installed the driver for the cable in both machines. I tried to communicate with him using HyperTerminal and that works. The VI contains that a modified version of the GPS VI from labview and serial basic read and write of VI.

I tried to use MAX to see if something happens. But the device status says:

MAX could not log on VISA to this static device. The device has not been returned to VISA when searching for resources, but MAX has been able to use VISA to analyze the resource name.

    Any ideas?

Looks like you have not NI-VISA on the work computer. Try installing with the Manager of cable and you should be good to go. You can get the latest version of NI-VISA here.

  • For the complex data type, how to generate the Dll with compatible interface to C/C++

    Hello

I used the Labview FPGA module to develop test equipment. Now, I need to write a driver that is to be a Dll with compatible interface to C/C++ for this equipment. So that my client who is familiar with C/C++ can call the driver without any study on labview. But I had a few problem on how to convert labview for C/C++ data complex data type. To clearly explain to my question, I have attached a simple example. (see attachment) I try to generate a Dll for the attached example VI and get the the function prototype at the head of the files as below:

    ' void OpenFpgaReference (LStrHandle * RIODevice, TD1 * errorIn, LVRefNum * FPGAVIReferenceOut, TD1 * errorOut).

As you have known, the type of data "LStrHandle * RIODevice" and "LVRefNum * FPGAVIReferenceOut" Labview data format are. C/C++ do not have this kind of data type and can not reconige it. As a result, I can't call the Dll of C/C++ programming language. How to convert these two data type of labview for the C/C++ compatible data format, and then build the Dll? Anyone know about this?

The answer is really apprecaited! Thank you in advanced.

As I found in the following article:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/WebSearch/FB001AA027C8998386256AAD006C142D?OpenDocument

LVRefNum is the name of resource of LabVIEW VISA or refnum, and "it is impossible to convert LabVIEW VISA name of resource or refnum VISession valid ID."
This means that external code modules can not access & control the session VISA which is open by labview. But for my purposes, I will not attempt to access this VISA extenal code(C/C++) session. I just hope that save this session VISA in the external code once I opened it in Labview dll; and pass it to the labview dll when needed. While I have not need to login again when I need to control the device. Is it possible to do?

A LVRefNum is really just a single int32 value. Its meaning is useless for other environments than those who created it so that you Michael not any what in C/C++ caller but pass it back to other functions in your DLL, but this often isn't a problem at all.

You can take the following statement of the LabVIEW extcode.h headers and add them to your delabviewed header files to make it work in such a way.

    #define Private (T) typedef struct T # _t {void * p ;} * T}

    Private (LVRefNum);

The LStrHandle you must set a standard C string instead in your export DLL and document what is the size of the string buffer should have if it is an output parameter.

TD1 error clusters should also be divided into their parameters (C compatible) separate for all items or just to the left of suite entirely.

With the help of PP 2015.2

My original movie is 23.976 HD (black magic of Production 4 K camera - I guess it's drop not framework)

    Process:

I start a new project and import a sample clip

(Timeline without any sequence top poster drop frame format: 00; 00; 00; 00)

I drag the clip to the timeline box that creates a new sequence that displays a code non‑drop frame format: 00:00:00:00

I have "hover" over the sequence of timecode display and right-click to change the sequence so that he abandoned the format of frame - and I am presented with these choices:

    * 23.976 timecode (indicates what is elected)

    timecode of uncompensated image 29.97

    feet + 16mm frame

    feet + 35mm images

  • Place the graphic on a page

When you import a graphic on a page, are there advantages or disadvantages to put inside or outside of a block of text?

There are four, maybe more, means to insert a graphic into a page:

    1. Framework in the flow of text, including different nestings, as in a table cell in a table that is anchored to the flow of the anchor. This graph remains with this text when / if the text is re - flowed to another page and is the recommended way to do this unless the stay-with-re-flow is not desired, or you cannot position desired compared to the text frame.
    2. On the Page Master - causes that appear on each page that calls this member. Redistributed not with text. Sometimes adapted to the title or chapter pages.
    3. On the reference Page, called by a paragraph using Frame Format above or below the frame. These inflows during travel that para. Recommended when a tag para commonly used (for example, the admonitions of security) still need this chart.
    4. On the Page of body - remains on this page number whatever the text later. Can become difficult to select (or complicate the other elements of the select page. Stay on this page, even if the page has no other content (making it difficult to delete as an empty page) - so not recommended.

We're running on a Dell 7600 Win7 with K5000 card, 32 GB of RAM. Everything worked on CC 2013.

We have recently updated to CC, 2014. (Recently, you say? How is that? It's another story.)

We have a map of Blackmagic Decklink Studio 2 for ingest of band, which we use little more for that purpose, of course. Fund video version 9.8, 9.8.0.0 driver version.

We use it for the output for our external monitor to see the effects of Pro/After first working via HDMI.

Agency outputs at the monitor end. AE is not, even though the Prefs are set correctly.

Version of AE 2014 is 13.0.0.214.

    Any ideas?

You must update your video Blackmagic Desktop software. Version 9.8 after effects CC 2014 is older and does not support as a host to pass mercury. I recommend the upgrade to the latest version, 10.4 as Blackmagic added fixes for using non-standard frame formats, a workflow very current with After Effects.

And, Yes, you must install the update after effects CC 2014.2 (13.2%).

  • Audio drifting on the Constant framerate

I have a problem of audio drift on a specific set of videos when using first Pro CC (2014) on Windows 7. The audio starts well, but ultimately derives from mismatch way. This already happens in the Source monitor. I read that this may be due to the use of the video framerate Variable. However, the video I have is Constant framerate. At first, I thought it could itself or my PC, but when I dropped a Blu - ray rip in first, it worked perfectly. It turns out that this happens systematically with all the videos on the site source (Giant Bomb).

It seems first to misinterpret the images. When I play the video in MPC - HC, duration 02:51:10 bed, but when I put in first, it signals the duration as 2:51:00:03. I checked the settings of the sequence, but they seem to all correspond with the video source. Even when I put it manually, it does not help.
