GPU does not

I have pavilion dv6-6170se

had trouble with him and sent in a store and they told me that the problem is my AMD HD 6series does not work and

causing the laptop down, and since it is embedded in the main Board, they told me that I have to change the entire Board

How will I know if the GPU are shipped with the motherboard?

My question is where can I get spare parts hp?

and if I bought a motherboard for hp pavilion dv6-6170us it will be compatible with my laptop?

I can tell you that the video card is integrated (soldered on) the motherboard. HP parts are available here on this site.

The repair, it seems the 6770M has 1 GB of video memory.

Manual

The plug between the 6170se and the 6170us is slightly different. The American model seems to have switchable graphics and her dedicated graphics. The motherboard would fit and work but which offer lower performance.

  • BI - GPU does not

Hello world. Yesterday, I restored my laptop. Then I renewed all the drivers, but then I noticed that my GpU 2 does not work. Even the switchable graphics do not work. I have Hp Dv6-6100SE with AMD Catalyst Version 13.6. Please help me and see the pictures below!

Download the softpaq to AMD graphics driver appropriate to your operating system. Use the softpaq to uninstall the installed driver and CCC. Restart your computer.  Reuse the softpaq to install the CCC and the pilot. Do not install the Intel graphics driver separately.

You will know if it has succeeded by right clicking on the desktop in an empty space. A menu will appear with the switchable graphics set in option as in the following image.

  • Satellite 1000-Z2: driver Intel GPU does not - I should update the BIOS?

    Hello

I just downloaded and installed the latest driver for satellite 1000 Z2 graphics card which is Intel(r) 82830M chipset Driver revision: 6.14.10.3889. However, it does not work.

I wonder if I should update my BIOS first. Thank you

    Hello

It s always a good idea to update the BIOS. Thus, it would be the best you try the BIOS updated and then reinstall the graphics card driver. You can also (if it isn't already) check www.intel.com and download the drivers from there, they are sometimes more up-to-date than the drivers of toshiba. :)

Please give some comments if the installation of the graphics card took place after the BIOS update.

    See you soon

  • Pavilion P6720TR: Installed new GPU does not work

I upgraded my old PC pre-built 2011 with Corsair VS 450 & Asus GTX 750 it. I installed my new GPU and everytime I turn on my desktop computer is blocked on startup of HP logo and it will emit several beeps. I think that HP motherboards are not compatible with the new GPU OR the HP bios are totally incompatible. There are HP experts who can help me with this problem?

The issue that you are facing, it's that the new video card requires a motherboard that has a UEFI BIOS.

Your card mother HP 2011 has a BIOS that is inherited and is not compatible with the newer video cards. Install a compatible with legacy BIOS video card and it will work in your HP PC.

Unfortunately, mixing the new and the old BIOS technology just doesn't work. It has nothing to do with the fact that it is HP. you would face the same situation with any motherboard 2011. These are the days of the legacy BIOS. 2012 and new PCs and laptops use UEFI BIOS.

This is a user forum, you talk to other users like you, no Apple or the manufacturer of your GPU - which is, moreover, you neglected to specify in your message.

When you post should give specific information - in this case, your mac model, and especially what GPU it uses.

Some Macs have discreet GPU NVIDIA or AMD, some only the integrated Intel GPU.

If your GPU is you can go to their site and update the driver of NVIDIA CUDA. Who can help, because, as far as I KNOW, first would take advantage of CUDA.

You can find out what GPU your mac uses ranging from the Apple, choosing about this Mac menu and then clicking on "views".

As indicated in the title, I have a laptop of y400 who had the gpu finally fail on me after a while. I was wondering if the card is part of the motherboard, or if it can be replaced on its own. I saw a post somewhere that he was part of the motherboard, but I've also seen posts on ebay of the map showing separately from the Commission. Is it just that the gpu is technically distinct, it is simply difficult to replace? Thanks in advance.

Sorry mate, but it's part of the motherboard. The y400 used a welded on 650 / 750 m. There is no option of MXM to remove easily, as with the CPU. You either have a new card to MOM, or better yet another laptop.

  • RAID controller does not have bootable VD

    Hello

I have a R730 with all the recently updated firmware to the latest versions to try to solve this problem. I need to host a Nvidia K20 (a little old but qualified GPGPU). UEFI turned off so I

I have 2 hard drives in raid mirror (1) and you set write-back and no read ahead (for the purposes of this problem).

I can boot from USB and install CentOS on the virtual disk but the virtual disk does not appear in the menu of bootable devices. If I reactivate UEFI, then the drive appears in the list of bootable devices (but the GPU blocks the system before startup - crash looks like this: http://moufie.blogspot.com/2015/01/technology-system-detected-exception.html )

I have 3 other R730s who have only a single drive and no raid controller. They all work just by turning off UEFI and without further changes.

    Hello

First thing I did was an update of the bios so I'm on 2.2.5 which should be the last.

    2 mirrored drives are 1.8 to 10K RPM SAS 12Gbps 4Kn 2.5 in hard Hot-plug
    Drive.

The GPU does not comes with the system

    The processor is E5-2660 v4

I have now reduced the problem until the disks. I mentioned that I had other R730 nodes that work. These nodes have these discs: 300GB 15K RPM SAS 2.5 Hot plug hard in 12Gbps
Drive, 3.5 in. I took 2 of them on work systems and raided their together in my non-working system and that it resolves. So I think it's the combination of 4 kN size 1.8 to and off UEFI which confuses the bios and prevents the disks appear as bootable.

Now that I start to google by searching for the correct terms I'm going with this:

on page 10, it confirms that 4 kN is only supported using the UEFI.

    Thanks for your time!

  • Satellite P105 - GPU overheating as fan does not work

I brought a Satellite P105 - S9337 laptop computer around a year ago and it's been great, but I had a problem that began a few months ago. The GPU fan does not run under windows or any OS. It works correctly in the BIOS, but when I hit the operating system, it will stop. This is obviously the cause for overhead.

-J' tried different drivers of Toshiba and other sources. Currently using 7.15.11.5666 which was the last version of Toshiba.
-Tried all BIOS and running 4.40.
-Cleaned it if sure there is no dust blocking the fan wheel.
-I even sent to Toshiba for repair 4 times and it comes back with the same question.

It's as if the fan control is equal to change the operating system when it reaches him like bios and basic OS (dos, the flash media bootable back past) works very well. It runs when she is hot and stops when it is ok.

At the moment that I leat overheating for a while then he seems to remember he's a fan after 30 minutes or more and comes into play. It works on OS at full speed, until my laptop loses power or I unplug battery, that I did today to increase the RAM.

There must be some drivers or BIOS out there that allows the BIOS to manage the fan or it just as it manages itself is so it doesn't overhead. I'm not pleading can someone help me with what it's getting very boring. e-mail is [[email protected]] If you want to contact me, because I'm out of ideas.

If I can't get this resolved I'm thinking of dismantling and wiring of the fan on but would prefer to avoid that for now.

My laptop (P100-481) was overheating too since I have updated BIOS 4.20 and above all. The latest version of the BIOS with work-fan control was 4.00.

There are two ways to set the fan control:

1 go to BIOS 4.00. You'll get stuttering in games because the initialization of GPU in the form of Versions all 3.30 to 4.00 are buggy.

    2. you can try this way: [http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?s=679696d192a1f43137253716ebd799b8&showt = 19190 CIPO & view = findpost & p = 79039]

It's not easy install a double Windows, but it worked for me.

There is a bug in the BIOS 4.20 4.30 and 4.40 and a lot of people have trouble with the GPU fan. So hopefully Toshiba find time to fix it in the near future.

  • P100-240: Driver Toshiba GPU is old, Nvidia driver does not allow fan?

    Hello

I was wondering if Toshiba could explain their choice here.

My laptop recently got sent for repair because he himself burned because of me using my p100-240 (pspa3e) Nvidias own drivers.

    The problem here is that:

    (a) Toshibas drivers for this card are over a year old and sometimes buggy in new games
    (b) Toshiba does not seem to have followed the specifications of Nvidia (that or there is a problem with ACPI in the bios...)

so, to use the portable computers Nvidia drivers fan don't hit, sending the temperature systems up to 106cand finally to turn it off. He turned his back, but then, basic graphic acceleration did not work.

SO, can we get an updated driver version? OR some kind of fan control app? or you can update your bios to allow nvidias drivers to operate?

I feel that I can't use my laptop to his function at the moment - I came back to the installation of a driver of pc non-ACPI to force fans to stay on which works well but the basic system then functions like disable do not work.

I have also been informed that this design flaw could be considered that the system is "not fit for purpose" slot in which case I could simply return the laptop under the sale of goods Act.

But really, I would just get my system working properly. It's bad enough not being able to run Linux on it, but even worse that windows does not work with it with official drivers.

One more question: can I get the old BIOS? several fixes to work with them but not with bios 4.0 (mainly linux fixed but as long it works OS that I don't like!)

Tips on it are also welcome! Thanks for your help. :-)

    Hello

    > I was wondering if Toshiba could explain their choice here.
If you want to hear something Toshiba you need to communicate with them. This forum is only a user to user forum and unfortunately you will not find anyone from Toshiba here.

    But maybe you want to hear my opinion;

    > My laptop recently got sent for repair because he himself burned because of me using my p100-240 (pspa3e) Nvidias own drivers.
(> a) Toshibas drivers for this card are over a year old and sometimes buggy in new games
Well, a lot of portable Toshiba are distributed and equipped graphics cards. Maybe look in other series of laptops that are delivered with the same card for a newer driver from the GPU.
But, you are right, and the graphics drivers from Toshiba are generally a bit older than the original of the GPU manufacturer.
Why? First the nVidia or ATI original drivers are not designed for the use of the laptop. Here are the drivers for desktop PC graphics cards. I visited the region for mobile drivers and found information that I watch on laptop manufacturer's site! That says it all!

(> b) Toshiba does not seem to have followed the specifications of Nvidia (that or there is a problem with ACPI in the bios...)
As mentioned above the original GPU drivers are not designed for the use of the laptop.
Why? Because the laptop GPU can not be cooled as graphics cards for desktop PC!
The own drivers from Toshiba support thermal protection that allows to avoid damage GPU!

The original nVidia or ATI drivers do not support this overheating protection!
If you want to use these drivers, you can do this ONLY at your own risk!

    > Can I get the old BIOS?
It seems that Toshiba page provides only the most recent BIOS. Maybe the registered maintainer can help you and you could send an older version of BIOS.
Two years ago, I contacted the ASP in my country and got a first version of my BIOS for the A50

  • Satellite P100-324 - GPU overheating due to fan does not work in the operating system

    Hello world.

While trying to solve the problem of RAM of 4 GB ([this thread | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=28374&tstart=0]), I meet another weird thing - gpu overheating due to fan does not work in the operating system.

Now, I restored the XP MCE using the Toshiba Recovery and I was VERY surprised to see that the problem still exists! As soon as loading the system GPU fan stops, and there is only tranquility. The application load is heavy on GPU and reaching 104 results by reducing its GPU and MEMORY clock values and NOT in the activation of the fan.

The same thing happens in 64-bit gentoo. ACPI can be turned on or off, it is not serious, the GPU fan always dies as soon as the system load. In non-OS environments (bios, program of recovery, etc.) the fan works fine, GPU cooling from time to time.

This problem occurs in versions of BIOS: 2.40, 4.00, 4.20.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, since this laptop is my main working tool and I can't let go 14 days (service).

I saw in your other thread that you have updated the BIOS and you have installed several different OS.

Fact is that the BIOS v 4.2 package contains BIOS 32-bit and 64-bit OS.
Your laptop has been preloaded with Win XP MCE 32 bit. Please use the 32-bit BIOS if the original XP MCE running on the laptop.

  • M4800 Precision: Input lag with a log in, Switchable graphics does not, fan GPU "chirp" when it starts.

I recently bought a new M4800 for an i7 quad, and a m5100 over-pants GPU. So far, I was rather satisfied with the purchase as it is what I need it to do. However, there are a few quirks that prevent from being 100%:

When I run the map only descrete, the journal of windows 7 in a such shift except if I move the screen does not refresh: you can type things and no. * display symbols in the password box. If you move the mouse continuously when you type the * poster in real time? It's a weird kind of lag, that I have never experianced before in my life.

This does not happen with the integrated card. HOWEVER, the computer will not dynamically switch between Intel processors and AMD gpu (amd Enduro / express power) as advirtized. When running in switchable graphics mode drop-down lists of global settings are 100% Virgin in the Panel of the CCC.

If you manually set for each application: it performs either one of two things:

    (1) most games seem to run fine, however he follow up with ESTR indicates its operation on the intel HD GPU and performance decreases significantly in the reflection of this...

or (2) launches a professional software as Chief Archetect x 6, or SolidWorks2014 causes the display to hang, fans of cut and the computer did nothing until a hard reboot via the power button.

    * I disabled the Integrated GPU in the bios and run only the AMD card as a work-around. Is there any solution for this other than to ignore the Intel card? Googling around leads me to a resource that graphic dell switchable disbling in BIOS are the only work around. All the programs work very well in this way, but sometimes say on a trip or during a course of reading, I don't see a reason to keep the amd WHAT GPU powered.

    Soruce to work around www.dell.com/.../EN

Is this fixed in a future bios or update driver?

and finally: the computer is dead silent most of the time, even the fans are pretty quiet. However when the GPU kicks fan on after being off for a long time, there is sometimes a noise, I can only describe as "electronic chirping/scraping" until the fan whirrs to life, it affects not at startup, but randomly as you use on battery and plugged. the configuration management thermal "maximum performance" to keep the fan on all the time to a certain extent eliminates noise. Is this normal? or is this a problem?

My personal experience has been a long and trying a.  First, they sent a technician to replace the graphics card with an another week.  Has not made a difference.  While they had tech replace the motherboard.  No difference.  So, I insisted on a new m4800 with the nVidia processor.  That's how I got mine.  BUT I think that if you pushed, maybe they could send a technician to change your graphics card.  Or at least send you a different model (for which you need of course a different driver), then you could install or take to a repair technician.

For what it's worth, Dell knows they have a problem with this hardware configuration and told me that they raised the question to their experienced engineers.

installed pes 2013 on laptop when you select game get error message "video card does not meet the required specifications (GPU:VRAM 128 MB)" can anyone help?

This means what he says.  You do not have the minimum required VRAM.
The minimum specs for the game is listed as 128 MB of VRAM, but is supposed to work
on the graphics card integrated Intel 2000/3000.
The amount of VIDEO memory dedicated on laptops is apparently determined by the FAB of the laptop.

Without knowing which laptop, or if it is one that has a dedicated graphics card, I guess that your laptop uses integrated graphics that devotes too little of VRAM (64 MB?),
If it does not the minimum requirement of 128 MB of VRAM.
