Gradient along a form

Hello

I want to apply a gradient along a path. I searched, but all the solutions (gradient as a brush or STROKE solutions) has not worked for me. My form is already over and I want to apply the gradient of the beginning to the end (arrow) along this 'line '. How can I do in AI CS5?

Cheers to the Germany

Mario

  1. Draw rectangles that are larger than your shape
  2. Fill them with highlights progress
  3. Object > blend > make
  4. Send degraded backward, then make mask

Apologies for a quick tracing botched the desired shape

Any ideas on how to get the gradient to stay as dark as it should? I even pulled the cursor of pure black gradient away from the end of the path. It seems that the fact that there is a gradient along the race clears the object of 5%.Screen Shot 2014-11-13 at 4.43.44 PM.png

Well, if you've been able to print the file and using the PPD even Acrobat or your printer, with all of the colors by than expected matching and display the same, I feel that she has a lot to do with this element in overlay. Tests, this output as a bitmap using Print image out Acrobat would be a viable test to see if it is just how he handles your printer. As if the contents distilled using the PPD even shows that change, the only thing that seems really different is the actual physical device, when you see the output and the values represented are the same outputs sent to the printer.

  • Gradients on living forms broken since the last update

Well, you don't twist your gradients on the forms of direct vector more since cc 2014.2.1, at least I can't.

When I try to enter a number for the rotation of the gradient by using the shape of live properties, it says I must enter a number between 0 and 1. When I enter a number between 0 and 1, it says I must enter a number between-360 and 360. ERM... Seriously?

Am I the only one having this problem?

You are on a Mac. On my windows system seems to me to enter in any number of the 360...

  • Move groups with paddings in gradient along the paths

    Hi guys,.

I would like to divide the green leaves on the image below on the green on the right object so that the leaves create the shape of the lines. They fill the space of the Green object to the similar form at the moment. Do you understand what I mean?

    Schermafbeelding 2013-12-30 om 15.00.38.png

I tried to mix but since leaves are objects grouped with gradient fills, but then this is the result:

    Schermafbeelding 2013-12-30 om 15.00.32.png

So my question: I need to divide the leaves along the Green shape so that they follow the form. How can I get this done?

    Best regards

    Bob

You have 4 gradients (extended to mixtures of clipping masks) that you have to cut. After I found 3 of them, there was one more in the stem.

You also need to repapply your mix modes after cutting, so take your selection ntoe.

  • CS6 gradient fills on forms after reloading?

Is someone getting otherwise a question whereby degraded changed when you reopen a PSD.

It happens too often for me to be something I do accidentally.

Sometimes I save my file and the gradient on a shape fill, it is be gray, reopen and then white.

Attachment and resave seems so save it correctly.

I was not able to establish a model to replicate again.

So why I wonder if others have seen this too?

    Rob.

If you set the gradient in the foreground or background in a stop sign (s) of the gradient, then whenever the file is opened, these stop (s) will take on the power of Photoshop fore / background colors.

For example, the first preset gradient is called "Foreground to background" and indicate the auditor of black in stops / background color and not a color sets.

However, when you reopen a file that has such a full form of gradient and inspect the gradient, stops deceptively will look like normal fixed color stops although it either really fore / background stops.

To make a foreground / background stop, stop a fixed color, just click the stop before you save the file.

  • Gradient along a curve

Hi, I know how to do a simple gradient on a place, but if I have an object in the form of a letter "for example, how can I get a gradient to follow the natural curve of the ' end to end." Thank you very much, Andy

    Andy,

    You can:

    (1) create a horizontal mixture corresponding to your gradient, with a height corresponding to the desired weight race.

    (2) new brush click on in the brushes palette/Panel dialog box, select Art Brush and give it a name (just keep the default settings).

    (3) apply the Art Brush to your path (curve).

  • Is it possible to move a ramp Gradient along with / to the object?

I asked here: make a Gradient ramp can Start/Stop when be relative to the object? but it has not generated any answers for me. If someone is in the StackExchange scene and wants to meet here also it would be great.

What I'm trying to understand, that is if there is a simple way to have a Gradient of the ramp to start and stop positions relative to the object, to which the effect is applied. I guess I could make delicate Pickwhip stuff, but it seems that there should be only a checkbox somewhere for that. Looks like a very obvious thing for me. I select a shape, apply a ramp degraded, if I move this shape I want the gradient ramp to move as well. Otherwise the shape looks radically different if not completely flat.

Is there a simple way to do this?

I know, the first time I was, I met like 'what the Devil's going! "

You dial before the item with the ramp on it - this will be 'rasterize' effect (so to speak), so when you move the object around the screen, the ramp will sit where it should.

  • Unable to access gradient in the form colors.

    Hello.

Attempts to access the gradient colors by using expression.

I thought I can have access to them using the table, something like this:

    thisComp.layer("Cubes").content("Group 1").content("Rectangle 1").content("Gradient Stroke 1").colors[0]

But it works only for colors [0], the rest of them (color [1]. color [2]) does not work.

Maybe there's another option how to access?

    Thank you.

It is not possible to access value of 'Color' degraded by script or expression (at least this is so in CS5.5 but I don't think it's changed).

By the expression: If you add a color control with this expression (with the value at the end):

    thisComp.layer("Cubes").content("Group 1").content("Rectangle 1").content("Gradient Stroke 1").colors.value;

==> you get an error: "object of type object that requires a number, table or the property.

    By script:

    app.project.activeItem.layer("Cubes").content("Group 1").content("Rectangle 1").content("Gradient Stroke 1").colors.value;

==> you get an error: "unable to get or set a value for this property (...)." PropertyValueType of this property is PropertyValueType.NO_VALUE. »

There are certain types of special properties that have value complex type (PropertyValueType.CUSTOM_VALUE) but can accept expressions and pickwhipped, but for gradients (PropertyValueType.NO_VALUE), it is not still possible...

  • Problem with transparency and gradient in several forms

    preview.jpg

    Hello guys,.

I have problem very stange (am have been strugling with four hours), I'm desperate and I hope I'll find help here. Thanks in advance...

Here's the deal... I created this shape in photoshop (see the image attached). It's 6 circles with equal to 47 alpha / then I merged the circles and applied degraded (#f7c105 to #f4480b) and the angle set - 145

Now, I try to recreate this shape in Illustrator... As you can see the image it sympathy ' e close but not the same thing. I do not know how to merge circles but to preserve transparency and then set the gradient.

If someone has an idea, I'll be very grateful.

    Thank you.

Yet a similar but variant method if you have 4 CS and later versions.

In addition if you adjust the Annotator degraded, then you can change the way in which the gradient fades as well.

Draw the full path of green.

Draw a path filled with yellow on the inside, with the same number of anchorPoints.

  • I need help to create a complex gradient

There are two things I'm looking in practice. I want to create a color wheel that you would see in a photo editing application. I want to have a ring around a triangular shape gradient in the gradient.

    1. I managed to make the ring, but as shown in the screenshot, the colors of repeat. I want every color to appear only once.

    2. This is the part that I am really confused. I need a gradient of three tracks for saturation, darkness and lightness. How can I do this?

    Screenshot.png

For the ring, all you need to do is change the gradient to linear. You already 'Apply gradient along the race' selected. You should also end the gradient of the same color (red) that you started with, so it changes abruptly to red magenta.

For the triangle, just make a [color] degraded white going a direction and an opaque black to transparent black gradient going in another direction.

  • Create a gradient of the script.

Create a gradient by scripts, the command stops and color.

Do not understand in the document of reference Photoshop cs6 javaScript, how and where to access the gradient.

Please help me, I can't do day after day...

The principle of the script consists of scanning in black and white and the texture of the color of the pixel, registration of the colours in the painting.

So in order to decompose the matrix of color from 0 to 255 black and white texture.

Until you get the texture gradient.

0 where blacks where 255 white. each color will be assigned a user ID and it will move to the color in the color gradient texture.

    Sorry for my English.

    Thank you!

For a large a gradient with script, you must use scriptlistener. Then modify the variables in this code to match what you want. I use this method to create gradients on the forms which are sampled from a reference image.

  • Can't round a corner in a single form.

Hello, I tried to one corner tower, but it is not letting me. I could around all the others, but not this one. You would think that there is some point extra in the way that I can't delete (I'm a bit new to Illustrator) right next to the corner, but I'm not sure. I have attached a picture of the shape and angle. Also, here is the link to a file .ai with the form (note, this is the form of problem - I deleted the rest): http://adobe.ly/1K0einJ

    1. as you can see, the corner left most do not have the circle and dot the widget to adjust the radius of rounding.

    Capture1.PNG

    2. above you can see barely two points very close, but here's a zoom there, just in case.

    Capture2.PNG

Note, I have Illustrator CC 2015.1.0.

    Any help is appreciated.

first of all, you have 1 point near the angle

Secondly, you have 2 points on the corner

It is perhaps not 100% perfect, but will be very close to.

someone else may have a more elegant solution.

    a long 8 px line

and turn to sit along your form

using pen + (shortcut is the + key), add an anchor point just after the end of the line.

Now using the feather (shortcut is the key), remove the 2 points.

the first point is just around the corner.

the second point is on the corner (there are 2 it right now)

now using direct Selection (shortcut key), select the corner point, now you should see the rounded corner to manage.

Double click on that and enter 8px, press ok, everything is done.

I hope that it's fairly simple to follow.

If you do not need this kind of accuracy. Just add the point of the eye, not bothering with the line as a guide.

  • Change a gradient 'complex' by another color

    Hello

Hope this finds you well. Can someone please tell me how I could take the gradient of this form, but he's black. Always affect the same she want just the base color to be black. Thank you!

In addition to the suggestion of Doug to change colors > Color Balance adjustment, make an edict of colors > convert to grayscale prior as who holds the better contrast especially if you are in CMYK mode and a slider to move instead of 3 or 4 (depending on what color mode you are).

  • Gradient, stuck for hours problem

Hey all, I'm a little new to this forum, but I tried to do something that doesn't turn out to be the way it should be.

So I read a few tutorials on the use of gradients on several forms, making it as a compound path. However, somehow I get it with this particular item I m do.

This object has many forms AND a path already. Sorry if this is huge.
Link to the .ai file: http://www.debeeronderneming.nl/test/Hourglass2.AI

Someone knows something to solve this problem?

    Hourglass2.jpg

    On the new file:

1 shift click with a selection tool on the ellipses which are the tops of the hourglasses and press Ctrl + 2 to block

2 lock all the layers except the layer 1

    3. using the selection tool, drag a marquee around an hourglass and press Ctrl + 8 to make a compound path.

    4. Repeat step 3 for the other two hourglasses.
