How can I achieve this effect on my picture?

I tried using the gradient map, but it affects the whole image as a color for shadows, the other to the shadows, how can I achieve this effect below?

Gradient cards are not used to the color of the sample, but for her recolor, so that you cannot use to create the selection, use the selection to limit the gradient map for the blue areas of the sky.

You can HIDE a gradient map using the saturation of the sky for her recolor, based on current saturation of the sky.

Select the sky with your preferred method, he jumps into a new layer (CTRL + J)

Use the technique in the tutorial linked to extract the brightness, it should land on its own layer.

This layer and remove the selective color.

Now add your Wo gradient map layer, enter the two colors you like.

Display the layer with the saturation converted into a layer. Select all, copy.

ALT-click the layer mask to your gradient map adj layer and the dough. You will need to paint black areas that you don't want affected.

I tried here, and had yielded results satisfactory semi in view of the very high compression of your file and also because the colors are quite unrealistic.

  • Unselectable gradient map

Hello! I use Photoshop on Mac and for some reason CC any map of gradient option is not selectable at all. I work with PSD images were pixilated, duplicated and merged. I am able to apply adjustments such as Hue/Saturation, Desaturate, Photo filter, Blender, etc., but not may apply to threshold gradient, invert, brightness/contrast, curves and a few others.

I work maybe to a certain way that would not allow me to do such things? Or I made a few adjustments to the layer that makes these available options for me?

I'm exhausted on the options and I'm wasting my time trying to understand something so simple. Any help? Thank you.

  • Change the base color of a raster with a gradient image.

    Hello

I have a small picture of raster (png) (8 wide x 75 pixels) high I have beautiful is looking for arrangement or gradient shades of green.  I have a site of sample that I created during playback in class CC of DreamWeaver in a book that contains this image horizontally to create backgroung for a navigation menu.

I want to "recreate" the same effect for my own site, but in shades of gray instead of shades of green.  Can someone tell me what is the best way / tool in Photoshop or Illustrator that would allow me to change this raster image so that every shade of green is converted to a corresponding shade of gray, while retaining the same general effect / appearance that I try to recreate?  If you could point me to a tutorial or explanation of how to do this, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance,

One of the simplest ways is to simply convert your color to grayscale image.

    • Image > adjustments > Desaturate or shift-ctrl-u (windows) shift-cmd-u (mac)
    • Image > adjustments > black and white, this filter will allow you to preview so that to change individual colors if necessary to darken or lighten the shade. (That would be more sensitive with a multi color image)
    • Image > adjustments > cmd - u (mac) Hue and Saturation or ctrl-u (windows) this command will allow you to desaturate a color or change its hue and or brightness. (This works well to change from green to blue for example but will work to desaturate both green)

Most of the people is called destructive commands because they are permanent.

    • Layer > new adjustment layer > Hue/Saturation
    • Layer > new adjustment layer > black and white
    • Layer > new adjustment layer > gradient map

Here are the layers while not destructive in that you can go any time back and change this setting assuming that you save in a format that takes in charge the layers. As psd or tiff.

  • How can I map models in grayscale automatically scales?

Script: I use Photoshop to design aerial maps of cities and countries for a RPG that run. Field is created by painting an elevation and apply textures to the different ranges of levels of grey as follows:

    • Black = water
    • DK. Gray = sand
    • Med Gray = grass
    • Gray = lt Scrub
    • White = Rock

    Examples:

Problem: At present, in order to apply textures to each specific band in greyscale, I use Select-> color range and manually make a separate for each individual texture clipping mask. While this helps to get the desired look, it takes time and does not allow me to simply paint on the layer of the altitude and see the different textures fade in the way in which they can in UnrealEd, Bryce, etc.. I can add an adjustment layer with a custom during the altitude gradient map to represent the correct colors (like on a relief map), but what I would really like to do, is assign templates for the different stages of color.

If not, is there a way to create each model fill layers everyone to introduce themselves to a range specified in grayscale? I can manage to get a unique texture using a selective color adjustment layer, but the problem is that these look all the layers below them instead of the lowest. (If it's important, I use CS3 right now, but hope to update in the next month or two.)

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

You see this same problem trying to use a dynamic object as a clipping mask directly without first within a group?

Yes, the same thing happens in CS6 when transparency of clipping sets (SO in your case) is created by mixture-if.

I have an alternative for you to try in CS3. For each field type, set an altitude IF layer with Blend-If the condition inside a group layer and give the layer group a Style Pattern Overlay layer. All groups have the default Pass Through merger (Normal mode should be OK, too) and the SOs have Normal blending mode.

The mix - if they are the altitude BOTH within the Group of trees:

  • Not-so-transparent transparent gradient

Hey, I am having trouble with the application a tool degraded to a rectangle in Photoshop CS3 for Mac OS X 5.8.  Rather than get a black color to blend into the background, I just get the black color.  And I drag and drop about 1.5 inches long.  Sometimes I find myself covering the entire image with that color, not only the object (even if the object is selected).  Gradient maps and layer masks do not seem to work.  Help?

Check the gradient tool options bar.  'Transparency' is checked?

  • Photoshop CS5 color and gradients cards selector

I painted a picture in black and white and put a layer of setting summary card on top to test some colors for the final image.

I put the color for "active layer" selector to keep paint on black and white background layer to achieve the levels of law without actually using color.

But as soon as I open again the summary card, the colorpicker selects ONLY the colors of the layer of setting card summary.

Even if I disable or REMOVE the map summary, the color guard selector choose the colors of the gradient map, i.e. without ANY color in the whole of the document.

This seems to be a bug. Can someone confirm this behavior?

    Don't get that...

If I have the current layer to sample, I have not yet turn off the visibility of my gradient map to get black and white tones out of my background.  I would try to reset my eyedropper tool. If this does not work, try resetting your Photoshop preference files as sometimes simply reset tool is not the case.

  • Elements + vs SmartCurve

Has anyone tried both of these add-ons for Photoshop Elements and what are the differences, advantages and disadvantages compared to the other? I recently paid a small amount of items + and now someone suggested the free SmartCurve. Since I'm old I don't want any injuries to try and learn SmartCurve unless it is of advantage.

    Thanks in anticipation!

Hi Michel - many of you hear again!  I have 11 items and did not see fit to upgrade but as 11 works very well for me at the time.  Know the scenario 32-bit / 64-bit.  Would like to know how they compare long-wise?

That, there is the option of curves which is common to both.

Elements + a lot more scripts and tools.

For me, the big difference in smartcurves is its ability to support other color modes, such as L * a * b or HSL/HSV. Excellent for learning and to investigate other modes. But really, I don't no longer use it to my edit after having done almost all my editing in ACR. I see no point of using curves for the color correction (taken from the books of Richard Lynch...) and I prefer the flexibility of adjustment layers for curves of brightness gradient map.

  • Fragments from one edge of the "depth of field".

I have a problem with AE CS5 fragments.

I use a camera that points to some graphic objects (3D - Layer). These are *.ai and *.jpg files. I set the position of the camera and used the "depth of field" blurring objects in the 'context' (focus/aperture). On the edge of the targeted part and blur are fragments (see the image on the right middle).

They change it alignment when I move the camera. Graphik from the bottom is all good and fine works in other scenes.

The fragments are appearing in the project file, not only on export.

How can I get rid of them (settings of the camera, export settings)? All advice?

    fragments.png

Give your project in 32bpc or 16bpc or manually create the DOF range by using effects of compound blur fed with a gradient map adapted. It is simply a problem of precision because your development area is so tight.

Any ideas? Thank you! :))

    Hi Carmel,

Its black never easy evolution how be it in Photoshop. A girl with black hair generally turn a blonde is closing impossible to do convincingly. As soon as you lift the luminance of the lack of detail information appears immediately. However, it may be false. Do not expect to be able easily to bright yellow or orange intense and keep it looking real.

If this level of quality is high enough to you how you do it. I'm afraid that this is not a topic to beginners but if all goes well

    You can experiment

First take the original image and reproduce them. We are working on the layer duplicate or higher.

    (1) with the tool lasso around all black areas draw. Here is a very rough selection

    (2) in a store the selection in quick mask mode.

    (3) go to the color range. What we were doing before was only to give color range, a good starting point, do not make a good choice.

In the drop-down list select shadows and if you set the blur, but its not required. This will give a reasonable

selection of black areas. Create a layer mask so only the black areas are visible. You will always have the original image in the stack of layers provides the background.

    (4) now how the color is changed. Create a gradient above the hidden layer map. Set the layer mode to color. You may need to pick up the cards degraded, but essentially, you have a simple gradient and color at one end of the gradient is mapped on the darks of a picture

and the color at the other end is mapped to the light of an image. Gross over simplification, but it is the principal. So, if you start with a simple

black-white gradient and change the black to tell red he maps the color red to dark areas of the image. The white end of the gradient can be left in the

White as the image is largely black. You need to cut the card of the hidden layer gradient - that is important. You will find black in the object will be replaced by the red, but the bottom layer is not affected.

    (5) now, create a hue saturation adjustment layer and clip that to the gradient map. You will find you can now move the hue and change saturation

    and even the luminance.

    (6) Finally, use a curves layer to fine-tune the contrast.

I've only used a red on white gradient here, but you could experiment with several layers of the gradient map and this will probably give you a better range of colors

    Hope that helps

Looks like a 'cracked old wood with paint"texture image distorted through a few adjustments / filters and then colorized with a gradient map. You basically only need to find a suitable Web image. You can probably also recreate with a bunch of cycles of noise, clouds and artistic filters.

  • -L' adjustment of the Red shadows

    Hey all,.

This has been bothering me for some time; and tonight I came across another amazing image that left me amazed.

    Link - Behance

    https://M2.Behance.NET/rendition/pm/28098705/DISP/e8df98516aa30b02c907310bbc3d58bb.jpg

Now, I would like to know how to get this fabulous ranking?

Particularly noticeable is how the shadow to his collarbone and chest seem to have a heavy red tint.

A few things spring to mind, though. Could it be that simple a gradient map, creative lighting, some pretty good makeup or a combination of the lot?

If someone has a tutorial or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Without seeing the original file, it is difficult to say with certainty what technique has been involved, but if an exotic saturated color is your goal, similar to what is shown here, it can be created with the unusual curve setting shown above. (The above colors would be more intense if I had not reduced the sRGB gamut to post here, via)

[Edit] I forgot to mention that, in the0case of the image of the OP, the curve has been applied on a duplicated layer and then a mask was used to reveal the hair as it appeared in the unchanged version.

  • Flower Vintage filters!

Hey guys, I work with flowers on photoshop and trying to get a vintage look by using filters.

I tried adding noise and also works with the brightness and contrast, but I can't get the specific look, I want to.

These are examples of what I would do:

    samuelburgessjohnson_tinchy_imperfection_2_670.jpg

    samuelburgessjohnson_STMUT_FrontCover_670.jpg

    11195645_573643952775482_1836961144_n.jpg

    11311958_1605949229694618_1389615829_n.jpg

The flowers look almost like false - as they were painted.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Or is it even more lighting in photography?

My guess would be a combination of custom curve adjustment of tone and the gradient map layers.

Press Ctrl / Cmd + J twice. Make the top of the B & W layer and change the overlay blend mode. Now add a curves adjustment layer and adjust the channels R, G & B independently until satisfied. Add a gradient map adjustment layer, set the opacity to a low value and create a gradient map personalized with the colours of your choice.

If you want to make this process quick and reproducible, record an action.

Create a new game and call it vintage:

Create a new action and name it what you want:

With the action recording, make the adjustments described in the first part of this answer, then click on stop. You will now be able to play the action as many times as necessary. You can even use the action in combination with a Photoshop script, such as the batch or Image Processor, to apply the effect to hundreds of images in a few minutes.

    Have fun!
