Group VPN using names

I would use DNS names in the name of the group, but cannot, someone there a way to use a DNS name in the group name in the tunnels on an ASA L2L.

Thank you for your help

Resolve IP address via dns to a static way of an identity IPsec configured FQDN name should be no problem.

I never did exactly that, in this case, I used a quick and dirty "ip host" entry up to a 'name' on the SAA, I have more confidence in the config as in an axternal dns server.

For your dynamically addressed 2811 s you will very certainly "Eazy VPN remote."

  • ASA 5520 - VPN using LDAP access control

I'm setting up an ASA 5520 for VPN access.  Authorization & authentication using an LDAP server.  I have successfully configured tunnel, and I can access internal resources.  What I want to do now is to limit access to a specific ad group membership.  In the absence of this belonging to a group, a user cannot access the VPN.

My VPN client software testing is Cisco Systems VPN Client 5.0.05.0290 Version.  The Group authentication is configured in a connection entry that identifies the Group of Tunnel. I think I wrote that correctly.

The Version of the software on the SAA is 8.3 (1).

My current challenge is getting the VPN to stop letting each request for access through little matter belonging to a group.  I found the thread below to be significantly useful, but there is obviously something which is not entirely mesh with my situation.

  • Get 810 error message when you try to connect to the VPN using L2TP protocol

Original title: L2TP will not let me connect.

I am in Workstation 9 and in each virtual machine, I have an AD - DC (2K8R2Enterprise), CA and RRAS (2K8R2Enterprise) and my last vm is a win7 (they are all tests).  All are not updated, but the PPTP, IKEv2 work without problem.  The second server that has the CAs and RRAS is a member of the AD - DC server.  The Win7 is not on the domain and I have Win7 a client certificate.  I have ensured that the CA root of trust is in the user store and computer Trusted Root CA.  I have also ensured that the Win7 client certificate is in the user store and personal computer.  I get a 810 error message when I try to connect to the VPN using the L2TP protocol.  I have exhaustively studied this problem and I can't find a solution to this problem.  I also raise the functional level of the domain to 2K8R2.

I think this should be a simple and easy solution, but where can I find the answer?
    Please help me.

  • Is if possible to group files by name and display for each letter instead of "A - H"?

Is if possible to group files by name and display for each letter instead of "A - H"?

    Hello

I don't think that there is a way to group all the numbers/letters individually.

Grouping like this would appear likely several empty sections, since not all files will have file names that begin with all 26 letters.

There are several ways that you can view the files by name, for example, list, details, category, etc.

  • SSL VPN using core instead of configured Group group

I have a 3000 configured for Ipsec using ACS to authenticate users. I tried to add SSL VPN. I can authenticate and install the SSL client, but I can't access anything whatsoever. I am connected via the base group, explains the newspaper on the 3000. How can I get SSL to work via the group which I configured and not the core group?

You should be able to achieve this with your RADIUS server. You must set the class attribute 25 as an ORGANIZATIONAL unit name equal on behalf of the particular group you want to connect to on the hub.

For example, suppose you want a SVC_User user to connect to a group called SSL_VPN. In the configuration of the RADIUS user, you would (under the attribute 25):

    UO = SSL_VPN;

(... Do not omit the semicolon.)

  • SSL VPN using ASA 5520 mode cluster - several problems

I configured 2 ASA 5520 s in the load balancing cluster mode. I connect using anyconnect and I download the customer the first time and everything works well except outlook. I don't know why outlook does not work.

The second problem is after the anyconnect client is installed on your machine, he remembers that ASA (say ASA2) he first connected and the GUI shows the address IP of ASA2 instead of the virtual IP address of the cluster. I want users always connect using the virtual IP address.

The third problem I have is there is a default group of SSL VPN and I want all users to use this group. In the initial web page, there is a drop down menu which shows that this group, but I still want to disable this menu drop-down.

    Any suggestions?

To disable the drop-down menu, you can turn it off with the command

    WebVPN

    no activation of tunnel-group-list

This will take care of your last issue.

    ***************************

You can create a profile of the Anyconnect client with the name of the server you want to connect with and that make the ASA that will solve your problem of virtual IP.

    **************************

Regarding Outlook, do you use specific ports which allows inspection of the ASA. Take a look at the list of inspection on the SAA and perhaps try to disable inspection and see if it works.

  • ASA checks AnyConnect VPN computer name

    Hi all

I have searched the Forum and documentation, but have not found a solution to my problem.  I'm guessing it happens sometimes, but maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing.  We AnyConnect deployed across our cell phones, but have trouble with employees who do get the software from other sources AnyConnect and install on personal computers.  We are an agency, although relatively small, but we have policies in place and I need to lock for users unable to connect to the VPN unless you're a book PC connected to our AD domain.  I found a possible solution is to use dynamic access within the ASA policies to check the Windows computer name.  So I set up LDAP and has created a policy to check an AAA attribute.  It lets me select "MemberOf", which I assume it is the Group of users, but I need to check the name of the computer on the client before allowing access.

Step by step of what I did, does anyone know of a more logical or easier way to lock on what AnyConnect VPN client computers can be used?

Or if I go about this common sense with dynamic access policies, anyone have any suggestions or knowledge of documentation that helps to configure things properly when you check the computer name LDAP attribute?

    Thank you!

    JD

    Hey Joe,

You do not need LDAP to do this, what you need is CSD (Cisco Secure Desktop) combined with DAP.

Once you enable SSC, edit your DAP strategy and instead of an IPN to attribute you to try, add an attribute of endpoint (on the right hand side).

To verify the host name, select the type of the attribute "peripheral".

Alternatively, you can also activate the sweep of host (under Contract) and let the CSD to check the presence of a file with a certain file name, or a registry entry or a process name. CSD passes the result of this verification to the PAD, so you can use it in a policy (attributes of endpoint of type process, registry and files).

Another alternative is to use the CSD with a policy before opening session - that you cannot check the host name, but it does not have control over the IP, OS type, certificate as well as the presence of a process, the registry key, the file. In this case you need not to DAP.

  • PIX to PIX VPN using Ipsec Tunnel. Need help please.

    Hello everyone,

I have a connection of two sites using 506th PIX and PIX 501. The one on the central site (WATBCINX1 - 506th PIX) sends the packet correctly and one on the remote site (CTXPOINX1 - PIX 501) receives (checked using icmp backtrace on the two PIX). The problem is that PIX 501 at remote site return packages. I have to say that the two PIX hace a 3com OfficeConnect ADSL router as gateway Internet 812. If someone could help me I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you!

  • VPN using hotspot with ios 10 does not

I often work off site and use my iPhone AT & T s 6 to attach my work Windows 10 Pro (processor ASUS T300CHI) Tablet.  Although many places I work have Wifi, most only allow VPN I need to connect to my work server.  After updating ios 10 (I'm on 10.0.1), I did have problems engaging, but VPN doesn't work anymore.

VPN integrated Windows 10 Pro on my Tablet has an automatic configuration that appears to detect the type of configuration (IKEv2/IPSec/PPTP/L2TP, etc.) and you just put in user name and password.  According to my dept IT, the VPN connection in the office not only supports PPTP (I understand has been disabled with ios 10) but also supports IKEv2 and L2TP/IPSec.  Nevertheless, I always left configuration VPN on Windows 10 in auto.  I tried selecting the connection type, but it did not work either.  Generally I get the error "failure of VPN tunnels.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated

    MattyBH,

Please keep us informed if you were able to solve this problem.  I also have the same problem since the update iOS10.  I think it has to do with Apple, removing the IOS10 PPTP protocol... I was able to confirm the conclusion of downgrading to previous IOS 9.3 and my VPN works very well, unfortunately my users with iPHONE7 cannot sink their IOS and now can not access VPN through hotspots iOS10

  • How to get all the stage within a group or sequence names?

    Hello

I want to show all the steps within a sequence or group names.

I wonder if there is a simple function that can be used directly, for example RunState.PreviousStep.Name.

I tried via a stupid way to add the name of each stage, if it shows all the stage names, but I still think that there is a simple function can access all the stage names.

Can anyone give me any suggestions, thanks a lot!

I fiddled a little towards the top of your sequence.  But yes, you have a loop.

Also, what format you want names?

    Hope this helps,

  • Connect to the router VPN using PPTP (Ubuntu)

    Hello

As I mentioned in other post, I try to get the VPN works for my Ubuntu workstation. I'm not an expert of VPN, so I need help.

So far, people seem to agree that pptp is easier to config that IPSec (under Linux platform). Select the PPTP Protocol and add a user account for the Linksys router.

    Now, the Linux part.

I have pptp-linux installation (it is the best client for linux pptp seams). I try to set it up, but I missed something relatd to coding or something.

I try to follow this documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VPNClient#PPTP

When I run this command: pon myvpn nodetach

    I get the following error:

    Using interface ppp0
    Connect: ppp0 <-->/dev/pts/2
MPPE required, but not executed [v2] MS-CHAP authentication.
    Connection down.

Here is the log of the router:

15 Oct 21:51:02 2008 Client Remote System Log [] disconnect PPTP server.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Thanks for your help and this useful link.

I have change my configuration file and I managed to set up the pptp connection.

Here the configuration file that I use (for people with the same problem):

    RemoteName until-vpn
    LinkName until-vpn
    ipparam entmd-vpn
    Pty "pptp exemple.dyndns.org - nolaunchpppd.
    name budderball
    usepeerdns
    require mppe
    garbage-eap
    /noauth
    file /etc/ppp/options.pptp

Also, I change the contents of/etc/ppp/chap-secrets:

    Budderball until vpn-based *.

With this configuration, I can launch the tunnel and communicate with the gateway and LAN.

Here the command line I use to establish the connection and than create road so that any request for 192.168.1.0/24 use the ppp0 interface.

sudo pon entmd-cpn debug dump logfd 2 nodetach

sudo route add - net 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev ppp0

Finally, by reading the documentation, I found a plugin for Network Manager. It's a work like a charm.

For ubuntu: sudo apt - get install network-manager-pptp

An installation, you must restart to 'activate' the plugin. (this is a bug)

You can use the network - manager to configure your pptp connection. I intend to post a wikiw on the Ubuntu Wiki page.

  • How to select the photos I want to import in the import Windows 7 Wizard, and how to change their name to a group of the name custom when importing?

Has features missing from Windows XP in Windows 7?

I'm doing a simple import of photos using the option 'Import pictures and videos using Windows' native Autoplay.

In Windows XP, I could choose what images to import and give them all the basic name custom during the import process, with each photo added later with a "001", "002" etc using the scanner and Camera Wizard.  It is very convenient because it could have been hundreds of photos on some of my cards from a long period of shots, I could run the tool more than once for different groups of photos that I would choose Import, and the pictures would be get named sequentially and stored in their files you want immediately.  I imported thousands of photos in this way.

This new tool for Windows 7 allows me to add tags to all of the photos on the cards and devices and name photos after their date, or on the label, or other combinations of that... but why doesn't this new tool in Windows 7 suppose I want to import every single photo on the card device / I just connect and more that I want them all to have the same tag assigned to them?  It's stupid and useless - there, makes only has pictures of a theme on their card at any time that they connect to import their photos and always wants to import everything each time?

To illustrate this point, let's look at my current situation.  I'm just on vacation in Europe and took pictures to more than one place, I visited, of course and now I would like to mark photos with the location of the names individually... or even more, I would like to actually name photos when importing with the name of the place in the picture.  Scanner and digital camera Assistant & would do that, no problem - you just had to run the tool once for each different group name, then select the appropriate images to import with the same group name.  It has been easy.  This type of naming is far superior to the addition of tags to images named simple-list or date-wise because you can tell what the image file in your library that you want to open just by going to (or get) the group name.  Want to see pictures of St. Peter's Basilica?  If you named the photos with that (added with 001, 002 etc), then simply browse to that name in your folder of photos «The Italy, holiday 2010»  Without trying to find photos Tags into the sea by the name of "IMG20100324005" - soup and no program Photo Gallery Windows Live Photos or necessary Picasa.

This new program in Windows 7 for the import of images does not appear to be able to handle the very handy feature of its predecessor Windows XP.  It's very frustrating to have opted for the version of Windows newer and supposed to be 'better' but find several programs that have been very useful for XP have valuable features removed or are no longer present at all (like how Windows 7 is no longer a Clipboard Viewer - that has great idea that is?).

So is it possible to recover the image import feature I apparently lost by 'redevelopment' of Windows Windows 7?  I could of course go and buy an image import and edition program (Smart Photo Import very nice for the price, a quick search I just do), but as this feature was native in Windows XP it is still stupid to have to buy a 3rd party simply program now because Microsoft does not understand the idea of keeping popular features in their software and seems rather "he dumb down.

Any help to select the pictures I want to import and naming them when importing with a custom group name using the import wizard would be greatly appreciated... + 10 GB of photos and videos of this trip is sitting & waiting for a solution!
