GroupWise admin uac authorization

C:\Program Files\Novell\GroupWise\grpwise.exe ask to permission to UAC now.

Icon has blue and yellow shield.

I chose fo the executable to run as administrator.

I found the answer.

C:\Program Files\Novell\GroupWise\grpwise.exe

Do a right click, properties, compatibility, change the setting to all users.

Disable running as an administrator.

I know it's against intuitive, but it fixed the problem.

Just downloaded Battle of the Immortals free MMORPG and every 15-20 minutes I have a lag of 1 min where the game slows to an almost unplayable State. First I thought that maybe my internet has strangled so I called my ISP. They ran a few test and said that everything was running at 100%... So next time, I contact the support team technique video games... They had run me a dxdiag and a program to hack... I also ran a tracer on my connection just to show them this is not not my internet... Then, they responded and said "it could be Windows, Windows Firewall, Admin, UAC, network or anti-virus settings you need to change so that they are not blocking or limiting the game." I tried everything until I even contacted them... I watched my CPU usage and prosesses and nothing no longer uses the CPU than normal usage... I have no virus and I just bought this processor so there may not be a hardware malfunction about 2 months... More 5 other online games I play run very well... • IOS router with several groups of VPN

Similar to a discussion, I read with a PIX firewall, I need to set up multiple VPN groups on IOS-based router to support different levels of security. For example, a VPN "GUESTS" group would only have access to 1 server, while the VPN "ADMIN" group would have access to the entire network.

With a PIX firewall, you can simply specify additional group names (for example "group1 vpngroup',"vpngroup group2"and so on). However, I have not been able to find how do with IOS-based router (Cisco 831 12.3 (4) T) running.

For example, I have these dynamic groups of VPN:

the crypto isakmp client configuration group of GUESTS

    password1 keys

    DNS 10.1.1.1

    swimming POOL1-IP pool

Configuration group customer crypto isakmp ADMIN

    key password2

    DNS 10.1.1.1

    POOL2-IP pool

! - Users get authenticated to a RADIUS server

list of card crypto CRYPTOMAP customer VPN-USER authentication

! - The problem is that line taken out. "I can only specify an allow list (a group name) for this encryption card!)

card crypto CRYPTOMAP ADMIN isakmp authorization list

I did research on this site, Google, usenet and ORC and have not found what I'm looking for. Any ideas?

    Thank you.

Command 'isakmp authorization list' you do it reference does not refer to the VPN group, it refers to a whitelist of AAA name which States that the groups are configured locally. Change to the following:

    AAA authorization groupauthor LAN

card crypto isakmp authorization list groupauthor CRYPTOMAP

The "groupauthor" is just a label that matches the encryption to the aaa command. Your clients VPN will be accompanied to a specific group depends on what group name, they set up in their VPN client.

See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk583/tk372/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080095106.shtml for details, it's a HW 3002 client to a router but the router config is exactly the same thing.

  • ESXi 5.1 AD join domain issues

    People,

I need some clarification regarding ESXi 5.1 AD following domain join:

Where expected or can we place the computer object of ESXi? can move in another custom ORGANIZATIONAL unit can I created myself? as: domain.com/DC1/Production/ESXi servers

Location of the object group security Active Directory ESXi

What about the group Admins of ESX? should I put / create in my universal security group of both custom location? as: domain.com/Users/It Admin/Dept/ESX Admins

    Authorization to VCenter

Do I need to do anything on the tab authorization VCenter to replace the role of Administrator security group assignment existing? because at this time I created the custom security group as a Director for the vShere environment as well as the authorization of some blue folder to select a few people.

    Thanks in advance.

On the first two questions, it's more an AD organization than anything else. IMHO, Hung specific UO is better that mix everything in one place, so your examples are good.

The subject of the third, ESXi permissions have no relationship with vCenter permissions - they apply for direct access of ESXi, not reflecting not at all in the way vCenter accesses resources of ESXi.

Try the second link in the HAA procedure (the one in the post two above this).  That it does not require that you start the system, like the first.  You can work and if it can solve your problem without having to reinstall the system.  At least give it a try and then tell me if I am wrong and even the process cannot be done.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • that allows standard users change ppp settings, removing UAC admin fast pwd to DPIscaling.exe

I am currently using windows vista ultimate 64-bit with an installed nvidia geforce 8800 gtx card. I'm the ADM on the machine, with the standards users who connect it. My account of adm does not have the problem. I'm trying to find a way to allow standard users on the machine to have the ability to change the ppp settings.

The path of the file is C:\Windows\System32\DpiScaling.exe

I tried to use the solution listed on this site: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=635

and used the Application Compatibility Toolkit.  I used a lot of different options, the 32-bit version, 64-bit, different boxes, without success. When you click right on the file properties and click on the Compatibility tab, it says:
Cannot be set on this program compatibility modes because it is part of the Windows version.

I have a standard users also granted full control of the executable, and if the logged-on user account, he got always invited him to enter the administrator credentials. I understand that this only gives the user access to the file and not what the file does.

I need to find a solution to allow standard users on the computer to change the DPI settings without the need of the admin password.  While looking for solutions here and on the site of regular microsoft (support.microsoft.com) support, all I could find are methods that disable the guests of UAC elevation and ways to disable UAC completely.    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7security/thread/0364515a-301e-47C5-AF99-39347b83c6b4-je don't want to do that.  I even tried and the standard user has always invited to enter an admin password.  I don't want to disable UAC or the guests of elevation, surprisingly these guests don't mind.   The computer is set to high resolution and need to continually change the DPI setting to enable the second monitor (my HDTV) text output in a format that is clear and correct.  The reason why we have change back is because the cursor of the mouse in the PC video games being played here on disappears when the DPI is set to what higher than normal / default. So before any game is played, the DPI settings in windows settings must be changed to the default / normal.

Since I was the user only administrator on the machine, I am concerned when other users would like to play their games. but can not, because I am not present.  I want to be the only Admin account on the machine.  Bad things tend to happen when I allow other users are administrators on the machine.

  • The shield the UAC/Admin on programs icon disappears

    Hello

a family to date win7 with security essentials, I got some big bugs with the shield icon.

Several programs that require admin rights and had the shield on their icon, lose.

There is no more direct running as admin window / login/pass. I need to ask to 'run as administrator '.

Programs do not seem to have been changed, but I don't know where the need UAC was declared (internal manifest or other)

I managed to find them with a restore point, but I would be grateful to know the real source of the problem and a real solution. any ideas?

    Thank you.

    I finally fixed that!

Then, go on your administrator account. Open the command RUN by opening the start menu, then typing "Run". Press ENTER. You will see a dialog box with a place to type... Type: 'NETPLWIZ' (you can type all lowercase, I typed in uppercase so that you know the keys on which to base) and press ENTER.

A window will appear with your user accounts. I bet you that under the section 'group', you will see at least one account with 2 groups assigned. What you need to do is click on that account to select it, then click on 'Properties'... click on the tab "Group membership" top of the window that you open, then select 'Other' for it the group... In the drop-down list next to 'Other', select 'Users' or 'Administrators', depending on what you want that matters have. Users is standard, and administrators for the user is a normal administrator account.

Do this for all accounts that have more then 1 group!

Then, after clicking on apply and OK for all windows, disconnect from all accounts... Now, you will be able to connect to your standard account and be able to run administrative programs!

  • Hidden an administrative user, now cannot type promt UAC admin password or login account

Recently, I wanted to hide an administrator account to the logon screen. I used a standard method for creating in SpecialAccounts/UserList regedit a DWORD value with his user name and value of 0 to hide it. So I need to do some administrative actions, but UAC is not identifying information to type a password. As far as I know, double CTRL + ALT + DEL does more work at the logon screen. So, how to get back these changes?

My goal was just to hide the administrative account from the logon screen.

-> Hide an admin account is useless with respect to users who are familiar with these tips.
The logic was simple: I just hide, not disabling account, I never even imagined it could stop working.
-> This trick worked under Windows XP. It does not work under Windows 7. During the test of such things, we must ensure that there is a path of proven uninstall...
The second point that I do not have is dissability enter random credentials by UAC promt.
-> You must be logged in an admin account when responding to a challenge of UAC.
Disabling the option double A + C + D. All this makes no sense to me and a total nonsense.
->, You should complain to Microsoft.
Ask a question here I wanted to see if there are solutions to undo changes besides the option restore point.
-> There are two options: System Restore (restore =) or an alternative admin account.
Oh and btw, if it's off the only way is system reinstallation?
-> There is a method to perform a manual registry restore. It expires after a few days.
  • How you rquire USERNAME and PASSWORD to type in UAC control featured instead of the list of admins, and then the password box?

You are prompted for an administrator password after trying to implement the parent controls.  My move to the standard administrator account. Now have two standard accounts and cannot repair. Invited by the UAC of Windows to type the Admin password but don't give me a place to enter.  My computer cannot even upward with out having to buy pass this fast.  Help.!

It's because, apparently, there is no administrator account.
If and only if, there is account admin on your system Windows will allow the built in (if not already enabled) administrator account if you start Sate mode.  Use the main administrator account to activate admin at least a user account.  Restore your admin account or create a new admin account.   You must keep at least one active admin account to manage your computer.  A supplement is even better.

I just went through a program installation and the end of it, he asked my admin password that I do not give (I clicked Cancel), and yet it remains installed successfully to ~ / Applications.

~/Applications is locked in 'Read only' without an Admin password. How does it work? I'm guessing that if the system has the required permissions, it can install in ~ / Applications, which makes me wonder why he asked my password in the first place?

    Hello polarrrbear,

Unless you have made specific changes to permissions on the folder, any user who is a member of the admin (default setting) group can write to the folder. There are some risks to it security. While it is just to have a file in / applications will trigger any execution, there are always a few things that malicious applications can use to fool you by throwing. From a post by Rehman F.

Here are the steps to change the ownership and permissions of files and folders:

    1. right click on the file or folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

    2. click on advanced and then click the owner tab.

    3. click on edit and then do one of the following:

    ·    To change the owner to a user or group that is not listed, click other users and groups, and in the box type
the object name to select (examples), type the name of the user or group, and then click OK.

    ·    To change the owner to a user or a group is listed in the change owner to box, click the new owner.

    4. If you want to take ownership of the contents of the folder, select the replace the owner of sub containers and objects check box.

    5. click OK and then click Yes when you receive the following message is displayed:

You are not allowed to read the contents of directory folder name. You want to replace the directory
permissions with permissions granting you full control?

All permissions will be replaced if you click Yes.

Note folder_name is the name of the folder you want to take charge.

    6. click on OK and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

    Additional considerations

7· An administrator can take ownership of any file on the computer.

8· Affecting the ownership of a file or a folder might require that raise you your permissions using user access control

  • Windows 7 authorization on the Admin Local account error

We noticed a recurring problem with one of the administrator accounts on our image of Windows 7.

The mistake was noticed first when an attempt to placement of files on storage devices detachable (a 4 TB external HD and a memory card).

The next thing we saw is when you try to create a system image, we get the following - error

I was able to restore the permissions to the admin user account to just close the account, sign in with another account administrator and reset the password.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft community. I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing.

Error code 0 x 80070005 while backup and updated to Windows Update appears due to a lack of permissions that are required to complete the process. This usually happens to the files or registry permissions modified due to malware or some registry files deleted during the installation or uninstalling programs.
