The shield the UAC/Admin on programs icon disappears

Hello

a family to date win7 with security essentials, I got some big bugs with the shield icon.

Several programs that require admin rights and had the shield on their icon, lose.

There is no more direct running as admin window / login/pass. I need to ask to 'run as administrator '.

Programs do not seem to have been changed, but I don't know where the need UAC was declared (internal manifest or other)

I managed to find them with a restore point, but I would be grateful to know the real source of the problem and a real solution. any ideas?

Thank you.

I finally fixed that!

Then, go on your administrator account. Open the command RUN by opening the start menu, then typing "Run". Press ENTER. You will see a dialog box with a place to type... Type: 'NETPLWIZ' (you can type all lowercase, I typed in uppercase so that you know the keys on which to base) and press ENTER.

A window will appear with your user accounts. I bet you that under the section 'group', you will see at least one account with 2 groups assigned. What you need to do is click on that account to select it, then click on 'Properties'... click on the tab "Group membership" top of the window that you open, then select 'Other' for it the group... In the drop-down list next to 'Other', select 'Users' or 'Administrators', depending on what you want that matters have. Users is standard, and administrators for the user is a normal administrator account.

Do this for all accounts that have more then 1 group!

Then, after clicking on apply and OK for all windows, disconnect from all accounts... Now, you will be able to connect to your standard account and be able to run administrative programs!

  • How can I get the UAC to ignore programs that I hope?

    Hello
I have recently upgraded the hardware on my PC and that you have installed the new monitoring software provided with my motherboard. Now, every time I login, I am invited by the UAC for administrator password to allow this program to make changes to my computer. It's very annoying and frustrating!

Is it possible to add this program to a list of "approved programs"?

I read a lot of people have used the Task Scheduler in order to bypass the UAC, but it does not work for me since this program auto starts when connecting.

The program in question is Asus AI Suite II.
    I am running Win7 Pro.

    TIA

The Asus AI Suite II begins apparently via Windows tasks when you open a session. If you open the tasks, then you can assign a Windows account to the task instead of using the connected user.

    -or even more - simple

    1. open Windows task

2 change the account for the tasks of Asus to the administrator.

    3. close the session

    4. connect

    5. enjoy.

No, not the thing to do.

It is for the audio drivers missing or corrupt, not the mixing table, which in this case is probably corrupted (sndvol32.exe), it is a MS file!

    Follow these steps:

Right click on my computer on your desktop > second option down - explore > in the menu bar, click Tools > Options > display > scroll down and check "Show hidden files etc" > Apply > OK > then, in the left pane, navigate to c:\windows\system32\dllcache > find and copy the sndvol32.exe file > paste said file in c:\windows\system32 > crush if requested.

    Re-boot

You should now have your rear speaker icon.

BTW, if you do not find the dllcache folder, then there is another more technical way to recharge the mixing table, so re-post and have your XP CD handy.

    See you soon,.

    Jerry

Another BTW: If you really want to re - install the audio drivers and your PC/laptop is a 'make' (HP, gateway, etc.) then go to their Web site and get the drivers correspondents there. Install the drivers from the MB manufacturer only if you have built your PC yourself.

Do a system restore. Choose a date, a couple of days, when the desktop icons were present as your restore point. Yes, are a few days old.

    Hello

There is no way sure of 100% to prevent it from happening again, and we don't really know the cause.
A glitch like this is sometimes due to an update (Windows, the utility of the Antivirus system manufacturer, or)
another program) and the cure is just another reboot, as it was this time. Although the actual cause is
    still unknown.

Good for backups of your data, switch off the machine, and follow these steps.

1 make a Restore Point (how to restore the link is only if you need to do).

    2. don't run SFC and CheckDisk to ensure that no corruption is involved.

  • Standard user needs access to the protected admin program

My older games, Mabinogi online, but it requires my password each time until he could play. Is anyway around this without giving my password? This means that yes there is a problem of trust involved. We have just recovered from a massive virus infestation and do not want a repetition.

    Hello
In addition to the response of Mick Murphy, check this:

Step 1: To run the game or any program as an administrator, try the following steps.
    1. right click on the game launch icon or program, and then click Properties.
2 click the Compatibility tab and choose "run this program as an administrator", under the privilege level.
    3. apply the changes.
    4. open the icon and provide the administrator credentials and keep identification information.
    5. Once opened the game the next time the user will be able to continue without entering credentials.

Step 2: Install the program or game for all users.
A lot of programs or games have the option to choose to install the game or program for all users on the computer.
    1. install the game using the Setup file.
    2. follow the instructions in the wizard; Select for all users on the computer.
    3 complete the installation.

Step 3: Copy the shortcut icon of game launch on the standard user desktop.
1 copy the shortcut icon of launching a game from the user admin account and paste it into the Office of standard user account. The location to paste the copied icon is: C:\Users\\Desktop
    2. run the game and check the result.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I remove a duplicate 'Add or remove programs"icon in the control panel?

Whenever I open the Control Panel on my computer, I see two icons "Add or Remove Programs". How can I fix this problem?

Some of what you see in the Panel comes from Control Panel Extension files found in the folder c:\windows\system32 (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive).  If you look at our you will find some there. CPL files and those who do a lot of what you see in the Panel.

The applet Add / Remove programs you see displayed in the Panel appears because there is a file there called:

    appwiz.cpl

If you go to c:\windows\system32 and copy the appwiz.cpl file and call the copy something like jose.cpl then go to control panel, you will see so two addition / deletion of programs listed (and they both work).  Non believers, try it.

If you see two copies of add or remove programs in Control Panel, both work?

I don't know what your problem is exactly or how it got that way, but if you use the Windows Explorer and browse to c:\windows\system32 folder, and then click search for .cpl, you will get a list of all the .cpl in this folder files (and maybe also see copies of backup in the dllcache folder).

Click the size column heading to sort the. CPL files by size, then look for appwiz.cpl in the list and then look for another. CPL file above or below that has the same size and date than the appwiz.cpl file and see what the name of this file is (as jose.cpl).  If there is another file that is the same size and date than the appwiz.cpl, that's your problem.

If you find it will not know what it is, you can just rename the suspicious file to something ending with an extension .cpl (like jose.xxx) and see what things look like.  If things get worse, just rename the file, the original name and seek some other idea-ers.

If you find the file that resembles appwiz.cpl and don't know what it is, tell us what you see and that someone can help you to understand.
