GTX 285 how Texture memory

I searched the forums for an answer before posting, but not found.

What is the setting of memory more efficient texture in AE CS5 with the GTX 285?

Thank you.

I suggest to put 80% of the VRAM memory on the card.

  • Help! PrPro 5.5.2 and nVidia 285.62 on GTX 285

OK, I had posted about this over a month ago in the main forum and thought that I had solved the problem, but he's back. Unfortunately I can't find my original message to resurrect as Jive seems to have deleted my history of the position beyond two weeks ago... :-(

In any case, I bought 5.5 PrPro to work with images of RED Epic and installed alongside my 5.0.3 on Win 7 x 64 Ultimate. I ran all the (5.5.2) and then updates on my first startup received the message that I wouldn't have CUDA support because there was no active CUDA installed card. I knew it wasn't a good cause, I used CUDA always 5.0.3, so I checked and found that my drivers have been clearly exceeded. I updated my drivers nVidia nVidia site, rebooted and restarted the PrPro. Everything worked very well. Until I had to export my first video. During export I constantly got a nVidia Driver error, saying that my system resources does not match what was required by the program (something on this topic could not get small enough packages for the video to process card), and he had to close. Closing the box pilot error nVidia also force PrPro quit. I discovered that I had no problem to run without CUDA, and could successfully export my video. However, I can't afford the time to run without CUDA because it significantly speeds up processing time, especially with multiple layers of epic sequences.

So finally, I did a full clean and reinstall the entire system, starting with the most recent non-beta drivers available for the nVidia card and put only 5.5 on the system and fully updated in 5.5.2. He acknowledged my CUDA card and there is no problem. I worked offshore and on the (very light work at Christmas) until today when I dug in my big epic project and started doing some basic settings the scale and speed on some clips and a few CC primary with the CC RGB and Three-Way CC. I often get the same error message from nVidia that I was me before I did the wipe and re-install and it kills my workflow and productivity. I turned CUDA backtrack again this afternoon to get this a chronology finished and exported, but I really need this back.

, What has changed on the CUDA support between 5.0.3 and 5.5.2 who screwed up things with my GTX 285? And what should I do to fix things and get them operational back? Before the clean and reinstall I tried several versions of the nVidia drivers, roll a few back as far as I could go and keep CUDA support and the new drivers beta that Ann and others had recommended. Unfortunately for buying a new graphics card probably is not an option since I have already spent over $ 2300 in a few months on hardware and software upgrades.

As a reminder, my other features of the system are as follows:

Intel Core i7 920 2.67 GHz (no overclock)

    12 GB OF RAM

    250 GB SATA OS/programs

    500 GB SATA-Graphics/Pictures/other stuff/pagefile

3-disk SATA RAID-5 2 TB project video files

4 drive SATA RAID-5 8 TB (PCIe RAID card) video data files

Project files to export/still Video 1 TB SATA

4 TB eSATA backup (not currently in use)

400 GB eSATA backup project (not currently in use)

This additional technical information of my card GTX285, taken from the nVidia system information dialog box:

    Driver version: 285.62

    DirectX support: 10

    DirectX Runtime Version: 11

    CUDA cores: 240

    Graphic clock: 648 MHz

    Processor clock: 1476 MHz

Memory clock 1242 MHz (2484 MHz data rate)

    Memory interface: 512 bits

Total available graphics memory: 4 095 MB

Dedicated video memory: 1024 MB GDDR3

    Video memory: 0 MB

    Shared system memory: 3071MB

    Video BIOS version: 62.0.58.00.03

    IRQ: 30

    BUS: PCI Express x 16 Gen2

Then this morning when I arrived I supported the allocation of memory PrPro back up to 6 GB (6 GB leaving for other programs) and so far I had no accidents, despite some heavy CC and cutting... Hope that this trend continues. I'm still working with 4 k files on a timeline of 1080 (even if the timeline is a timeline of RED, and it's the same settings with respect to everything else).

If I can verify that this is a memory problem, I'm going to submit a bug report at first... unless 12 GB is really too small to work effectively with such things, I find it hard to believe that since I have never had a problem with this before with 5.0.3 or earlier...

  • GTX 480 vs GTX 285

Regarding video cards that I don't know, says the Adobe site on the system requirements:

Supported NVIDIA graphics cards for GPU acceleration:

GeForce GTX 285 (Windows and Mac OS)

In my opinion, that they list cards can use the maximum error allowed for better display.

This is one I can afford.  However I noticed that some who have best performance machines use the 480. Why?

Wouldn't better not get this card and change the cuda_supported_cards.txt file?  I'd get as good, or even better performance than the 285?

Also the amount of memory in the card would make a difference?

    1 correct.

    2 correct. Fix. Fix.

Maybe in a year and a half the 480/470 will be much faster that the 285 can never be, due to the hearts, the memory bus and allowed it.

I wouldn't worry about the 'hack' as being unsupported by Adobe. Often, you get better support here, as some support person according to the India, which has never used the program and the only bed aloud instruction leaflets.

  • Custom CS5 build with GTX 285 for long-format 4 k projects

  • I did search non-stop for several days, and it's time to ask for your expertise.  I'd appreciate any help.

I will be ordering a new system of Production Premium CS5, and especially I use first Pro CS5 to edit projects of long duration (huge time with thousands of clips) of Red 4 k footage.  It's a feature film with only a few F / X shots, but we would like to do the same F / X, sound mixing and color correction in CS5 as possible.

    Here's what I'm thinking:

CUSTOM BUILD of CYBERPOWERPC (approximately $1950 including items are not):

  • OS: Windows 7 Professional x 64
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 930 2.80 GHz 8 M Intel Smart Cache LGA1366

  • SOUND: Creative Labs SB X - Fi Xtreme Audio 24 - BIT PCI card sound + [48]
  • VIDEO: Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 (I'll have to pull out their card and install myself for GPU acceleration)
  • 1 do you think poor or strange decisions?

    2. I liked this mobo due to the possibilities of the chipset and because it has 1394 for DV capture old.  In addition, it has 8 SATA 2.0, 3.0, 2 2 SATA. 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0 eSATA for storage huge/fast forward options.  Is there a better alternative if I'm looking forward to having at least one of each of these formats?

    3. I'm going to clone their 1 TB drive OS on a smaller 250 GB disk for use as the OS and then use their 1 TB drive, as part of a 2 TB RAID 0 video storage.  The raid of the mobo or a controller using some type of RAID virtual (like I did in Xp64) will be fine, or do I need a separate RAID controller (as if I had the end of the 1990s).

    4. What do you think of this processor and RAM for what I do?  No reason to prefer 2 Quad-Core (if two processors are even compatible with CS5)?  Please let me know if the current configuration will be trolling with huge chronologies with thousands of 4 k clips.

5 maybe I don't need the Creative sound card and could just use the mobo sounds?

    6. it will be simple for me to remove the graphics card and install a Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 myself?

    7. the Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 appears to be a good target for the GPU acceleration for me since I don't expect to have 4 + layers of videos, although I do multiple effects in 1 or 2 layers.  Would have given a Quadro FX no advantage over the GTX 285 to the huge chronologies with thousands of 4 k clips?  Or benefits for any other use?

    8. the GTX 285 has 2 DVI connectors only (more something akin to the S-video).  Can I use a DVI to my workstation and a DVI for video surveillance in real-time on a LCD TV with HDMI/DVI or professional HD video monitor.  No problem with my 4 HD real-time look at a k video / output?  What is the best configuration for your video on an external monitor?  At the time of CS2, I used a 1394 through a camcorder in a professional analog monitor, but it won't be HD, more I heard that there is a problem syncing these days.

    Thanks for your advice.

For the longer form material Red 4 K, look at 24 GB of memory, instead of 12. Also consider the i7-980 X instead of the 930, due to the load with long form projects.

Definitely get at least 3 drives additional, set apart from the OS disk and refrain from partitioning. A solid raid configuration may be wise.

  • How much memory can I mount in a Tecra M10 - 1CN?

How much memory can I mount in a Tecra M10 - 1CN and should be in two 200 pin SO DIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 800 MHz modules

    Hello

Expand the memory depends on the chipset of the motherboard
The Tecra M10 supports the chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express and this chipset DDR2 800 MHz RAM 8 GB max

So first of all, that you can use 2 x 4 GB RAM modules, and on the other hand the speed of memory is limited to 800 MHZ.

Even if you use faster modules i.e. 1033 Mhz FSB would clock speed to 800 Mhz so it s not worth to use faster than the DDR2 800 Mhz modules

  • GTX 285, Fermi 470, 480 playback engine (MPE) Mercury.

I have a few questions about CUDA support in adobe CS5

    1.      Are the new 400 series likely to be supported cards?

    2.      I see acceleration of the two first Pro AND After Effects with a Nvidia GTX 285. (What type of acceleration is available in After Effects?)

    3.      I read on another forum that the 2 nvidia graphics cards are required for the EMT. The first card is used for display on the screen for example a 120 geforce and the second for the acceleration of the MPE, is this correct?

    1. most likely, scheduled for the 3rd quarter. With the "hack" Fermi cards are now working.

2 AE uses OpenGL, PR using the MPE for acceleration.

3 no One card is the only way, because the SLI is not supported and the use of two screens is quite feasible. If you need multiple monitors, then EyeFinity is the only option, but then you lose material MPE.
