After years of trouble without running, my Pavilion Elite m9070 PC is no longer sends a signal to the monitor. I suspect that the video card has failed after a loud Thunder and lightning above my house. The PC card is NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT TurboCache with Purevideo.  I looked on ebay for a card and although there are several closely matching cards it has nothing to do with the same specific name. I would like to know please the generic name for all video cards wil be compatible with my PC - otherwise if someone can tell me where I can buy the exact card I apprecite it.

No worries and thank you for the information.

Many desktop computers have what we call an integrated graphics card and connections of the graphics card built into the motherboard itself. Now when a "discrete" graphics card is installed, these systems will commonly disable the graphics card integrated automatically, once the system BIOS detects that a separate graphics card has been installed.  This means that only graphical connections that will work will be those that are part of this new card.

If you later remove this card and restart the computer, THE system BIOS will check again, and given that the map is missing, it will activate the onboard graphics once more in addition to the connection built into the motherboard.

So what I propose is a test to see if the integrated graphic card works or not. If they do, the card that was previously installed is defective.

To help with that here are both the: HP Pavilion Elite m9070.uk, a desktop product specifications PC and HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - features card mother IPIBL-(Berkeley). On that last one there is an article in ' I/o Ports' expand it, and it will show the different connections built directly on the motherboard as they should be seen from the back of the computer case. The only graphic link shown is a VGA connector as 12.  Given that you are currently using a cable HDMI for your graphics card, your screen also has a VGA connection?  If this isn't the case, then you will need an adapter to switch to VGA.

I think to buy this laptop, but as it is again the details on the web site seems incorrect. I called HP sales on this subject and they have as far as I can tell just told me that the site has already said. Can someone tell me if you can upgrade the memory in this laptop? According to the maintenance manual, he seems to have two Dimm slots and only uses one. Sales of HP, he has only one. According to the Web site and sales the network port is 10/100. Really? If this is true I didn't someone did something today that was not capable of 1 Gbps. Any specific help would be great. I can not even find any quickspecs on it.

Its definitely 10/100 ethernet cable which is actually still quite common on laptops of point lowest price. It is also certainly 2 slots of memory and accessed by removing the lower cover. Motherboard removal not required. 16 GB maximum RAM. You have seen the repair so I won't be posting that. I'm not also see specific profile for this particular model apart from that:

699 pounds or about $1100 dollars, it's a very good deal. You have a concert 128 SSD m2 and a storage drive, nVidia 950 graphics with a non touchscreen full HD and a pretty gnarly CPU. It is better than the cheaper omen without the trappings of fantasies by $400 and should run right to the top with him, if not a little better. I have a HP Omen lent me to help with my work here. It has a touchscreen, but I find that redundant and would willingly without him in particular to a $400 discount.

Honest to goodness isn't really need 16 GB of RAM, but you can add another module of 8 GB if you wish.

  • Pavilion H8J91EA #ABU: failed to update BIOS on H8J91EA #ABU

Has had a major disaster last night.

Tried to update the BIOS on a Pavilion H8J91EA #ABU failed; Displays the boot block update message (or something like that - don't remember exactly) message stayed on the screen for centuries and then blacked out.  Now, the machine seems totally dead.  I tried the method of recovery of bios key 'Windws-key' and 'B' without result.

Does anyone know if this feature is supported on the #ABU H8J91EA

    Thank you

    It sort!

After failing to install the new BIOS understandable machine does not start.

The option Windows key & B to retrieve the original BIOS is supported on this model but would not work.

If you leave the machine off for a few hours the BIOS recovery works fine the first time try you it. but once the BIOS has loaded the system was unable to restart to complete the installation. Returning to the State where you cannot call the BIOS recovery feature and the machine is completely dead.

    Solution in my case was...

    • Power down machine
    • Leave for a few hours
    • Turn on, all holding the key windows and 'B '.
    • Wait for the BIOS recovery to start and release the keys.
    • Answer all questions and wait for the reboot to start.
    • If it does not start, turn the machine off and leave for a few hours.
    • Turn on the machine, and with a little luck, the boot will continue.
    • Answer any questions that you are asked, and wait.
    • Breathe a sigh of relief...

I hope it's useful to someone.

Yes, it is safe to uninstall the HP Security Manager Client software.

It is not necessary to have installed and the operating system Windows 10 will do fine without it.

The purpose of the HP Client Security software is as follows:

"HP Client Security Manager provides Windows user name and the Web site single-sign - we enhanced capabilities." Security Manager is also the host of plug-ins HP Client Security and must be installed before other modules of Client Security. This package is provided for the laptop models running a supported operating system. »

  • N7J89EA #ABU: upgrading Windows 10 home

I have a new x 360 convertible N7J89EA #ABU running Windows Home 10. I have an MSDN subscription, I want to upgrade to Pro 10 Windows so that I be supported in the field.

Is it possible to do this upgrade of the home installed Windows 10, or do I have to install Windows 10 Pro on bare metal?

    Hi André,.

You're probably not an issue experienced answer to have this exact model to upgrade (stage pro) via MSDN on this site, as most of us are just enthusiasts who volunteer.

But I guess that's fine since you are mainly just unlock functions not given in the original version.

You will want to upgrade first, then if she runs into a problem, CLEAN install after.

I'm sure you already know how that works well and make sure to create a copy of recovery for safety, in case recovery partition link gets broken and you have to go back.

Personally, after I updated, I pass on a SSD and pure install just if he would fly.

But that's just my humble opinion.

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop from DVD true retail because the resumption of HP I is 32-bit and so cannot use all the memory in the machine.

I managed to find the most important software and drivers but miss me the beat / Audio driver. It does not appear on the page of download driver laptop (with another software, but that's probably another story).

I found and installed HP Support Assistant, and who concluded that the Beats Audio was missing and that would have been installed (unless she didn't and he didn't tell me). However, he seems to still be there - there is no Beats Audio icon in the system tray and it is not something that you can uninstall in Control Panel. I also installed HP on-screen Display as it seems to be necessary, but it does not seem to have brought Beats Audio to life.

Lack of pilots of Beats Audio seems to be a common theme on this forum, but unfortunately none of the opinions of existing positions worked for me. I suspect it is maybe because none of them focused specifically on my laptop model.

Can someone point me to the Beats Audio / IDT download for my PC model or suggestions for other ways to get installed it. Note that I have no HP Recovery Manager installed because I can't find that download is...

I think to buy a copy retail Windows 7 64 - bit to do a completely new install on my laptop HP G62-a18SA (XC302EA #ABU) and so am trying to gather and record the necessary drivers, I have to reinstall later.

Can someone tell me where I can download the AMD SATA controller for this laptop?  Device Manager appears in the:

    Driver provider: AMD

    Driver date: 10/07/2009

    Driver version: 1.2.0.164

It is not listed in the downloads section of driver for this laptop in particular HP support site.

AMD is different from that of Intel, a Sata driver is not required to install W7.

There are many backup programs free driver you can use to back up the existing drivers and then use this backup to reinstall it on the new facility.

    Hi guys

I have a HP-Pavilion VD012AA-ABU m9753uk with OS windows 7 ulitmate and I want to upgrade my graphics card to a Nvidia GTX 560Ti and I was wondering if this card would hold on my motherboard. I know that the motherboard has a PCI Express x 16 slot and be ok 1, but I don't know that I need to look at, I know there are several variants such as ATX and others because I have only a 300 watt power supply, I need to spend at least a power of 500 watts power however im don't know what connectors my computer has to power supply and what kind you provide and also is here a chance to overcharge me my other components such as my processor or CPU due to the increase in power as I currently have a graphics card Nvidia GT 220 installed if that helps at all

Here are the specs for my graphics card (http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-560ti/specifications)

any advice you could give me the guy would be great I never made any changes to my computer with acclamations im not sure what to do

    Hello

Consult this publication document for more information.  Open your PC and measurement.  The NVIDIA 560 TI type is 9 "long.

I don't see a problem with the NVIDIA TI 560 and the m9753uk.

You will need a power of 500 watts.  The Corsair CX500 is an excellent choice.
