Guarantee of the disc is still valid with expired warranty Pavilion?
I have a HP Pavilion g7-1070us laptop with a Toshiba hard drive dead confirmed. The laptop was purchased in March 2011, at the expiration of the standard warranty in April 2012.
I checked the warranty of the hard drive by the Web from Toshiba site and they say that it is covered until April 2014. However, they also say that I have to go through the manufacturer for warranty work, since it is part of the OEM.
Is this correct? If so, how can I get a replacement of the hard disk that is under warranty, when the laptop belonged is not?

I guess I was also trying to explain that there is no reason to be angry against HP. They didn't do anything that every other computer manufacturer did not 20 years. It's just the way the world works. Again, sorry.

This message is displayed because the specified file has an invalid security ID. Each file on a NTFS or FAT volume has security what ID assigned. The ID assigned to the data file does not match the ID assigned to the security data stream file ($SDS). There is a mismatch of Ids. CHKDSK replaced the invalid security ID.
Black screen with cursor may appear due to corrupted display driver.

I intend to move to a new computer. I have the disc I still buy Lightroom 3.6. OVFTool - nodisks still creates the file .ovf with the disc information

I use ovftool with the option - noDisks, but it still seems to be the information of the disc in the file .ovf (see attachments).
I am trying to import the virtual appliance on a server ESXI 3.5 update 2 using VM Converter 4.0.1.
When I try and import the virtual appliance, I get the following error:
Failed: Could not download the OVF file ' http: / / xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/vm_ovf_backups/esxi-test-disk1.vmdk "."
I thought that the option - noDisks would leave on any information relating to the disks - I'm wrong?

You specify the data store by using the option - data store (or abbreviation - ds). Try ovftool - datastore = ESXi-vmdk-1 /esxi - test.ovf vi://111.111.111.111/ instead.

What is the brand and model of your computer? You have the restore disc that came with the computer. If the recovery partition is still intact, you may be able to reset it to factory settings, but I can't tell you how much, until you post the manufacturer and model of your computer.
