  I'm having a very disappointing time with my new Blackberry 9700 I could really use help with it please.

  Following the installation wizard, I arrived to the e-mail configuration. The ONLY option is to enter an address associated with an Enterprise Server. There is no option to choose my Gmail account.

  After this step, I was hoping to find an alternative to get where I needed to be, but does not (at least none that I could find). Then I tried to upgrade my device software, which I did. So I am now under v5.0.0.405. Still no icon for the configuration of email in the settings window.

  I even tried to install Google Sync, but there is no hanging at "first login".

  I was really hoping it would be a lot easier than what I've heard great things about BB. I come from a Windows Mobile, so eager to get this resolved.

  I just got my Storm this week (my first Blackberry) and managed to configure my emails to my gmail account (the single e-mail account I set up at the moment). I noticed that when I set up my gmail account a new icon appeared on my Menu for my emails gmail next to the normal 'Messages' icon. Whenever I get an email from my gmail times the normal icon to 'Messages' account and gmail email message icon inform me that I have an email. What is the point to this?

  The only thing I can think is that the "Messages" icon shows you all the emails received by all registered email accounts. Is this the case? In this case, I'll just hide the gmail icon and use the standard Messages icon.

  Could someone let me know on this subject? Even if I just answered my own question! P

  Also when I was installing my sound notifications for text messages I saw 'Level 1' on the list of notifications that you can change the settings. What is a 'Level 1' notification?

  To add to the above, you will need to override the methods "automatic" which will use the foregoing. Left alone, the "automatic" methods will offer only you OS packages sanctioned by the carrier for which your BB was built (under the VendorID on the device). But, you are not limited only to those... the easiest is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

  1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

  • You need to dig through this portal to find carriers that support your model but also to compare their different OS packages that are available.

  (4) If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC. If, during the process, your BB votre BB a '507' error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

  Do not forget to save.

  Note that if you had to make a special "tricks" for your BB to function initially get on your carrier (for example, your BB model no is not natively supported by your carrier system), then this process will wipe those out, and you have to make them once again after it's over. Before starting, so 100% certain that you know what these "things" have been and are able to do it again.

  If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  I keep my Pearl to vibrate for phone calls at work, but all my incoming emails also vibrate.  I tried everything I can to stop the whentheyarrive vibrating on my phone.  I even it matched up to my husband and many phone settings all settings are the same, mine is vibrating, and his does not work.  Please help me to not be notified whenever an e-mail message arrives!  Thank you!

  You must go to profiles, scroll to the tip, normal or one who is active, go to email accounts and check each e-mail account (in and out of case)

  I have a client (I am a network consultant) who use a BB and he can get his email on this subject. It uses the BIS service and had no problem. However when he tries to send, it provides only people outside of its local area. One of his colleagues don't get his email. But the even weirder part is that the e-mail he sends to co-workers appear in his sent items box. They just get lost somewhere in the maze.

  Any ideas?

  We use an Exchange Server 2003 and GFI MailEssentials for SPAM solution.

  Found. One of his colleagues had inadvertently added to the global blacklist. And since its BB was technically sending from outside that he blocked only incoming emails.

  I was able to remove the user from the list and emails are now crossing all internal users.

  On my old phone (BB Bold 9900) I could easily limit the incoming emails to people in my contacts list. I have not been able to find a way to do this on my new classic. Any suggestions?

  I can not quite sure what password you cause disorders (e.g., BIS, BB ID, e-mail account itself), but if those who are associated with BB (BIS, BB ID), then these password reset emails are, for reasons of security, not delivered to the BB itself. Instead, you must Access this email account (the one who reset email sent) another source... webmail, etc.

  But, if e-mail (the one who sent the e-mail to reset) is a "hosted" (e.g., @carrier, @bb, etc.), then there is no other access... and you need to put in place a redirection rule in this email account in order to have the reset email sent to a different e-mail account that you can access :

  Click the icon for your profile and scroll down to the tip. Then select the profile you want to edit. You will see then a whole list of things that you can change the alert for. For example, click on "phone". Your first setting is "off the case". This means that you don't have the phone mode "sleep" or in an approved Holster BB. You can change this voice against zero which means no warning at all. Tone would be your choice of ringtone. Vibe and ring would vibrate THEN ring. Vibrate is vibrate. Next option is tune. You can select a preloaded ringtone, or if you want to choose a song that you downloaded browse choose music, and song. Then is volume. Low medium high climbing or none. Then repeat the notification is none or flashing LED. When turned on your status light flashes red for a long time after you have missed a call. This works for other alerts as well. Then there is the number of vibrations before the song starts 1, 2 or 3. But you do not consider that if you do not use vibrate. So you want to change the setting for in case as well.
