Guideline BB10 icon

Hello, I have been informed that BB10 apps requires a different size icon, the reference I got is inside this link, https://developer.blackberry.com/air/documentation/bb10/create_icon_button.html , which forces us to create an icon image.

However, in policy-making for the Playbook, it's also simple this code following that is available inside the .bar descriptor.

How exactly should I do icon for BB10? Can I use the method similar to the creation of a for Playbook? And what is the size of it?

We talk here

    Hello

You can find the instructions for user interface more updated here:

The recommendation is 114 x 114 to prevent any requirement for the scaling.

  • Default icons of BB10 menu app?

    Hello world

BB10, I use the menus of the application (tabs, action bar, Action Menu, context Menu) for some time now and I was wondering: is there a default icons? As explained here https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/files/design/bb10/UI_Guidelines_BlackBerry_10.pdf#78

Some of the icons that I found already:

-ButtonBack (set actionBar.backbutton as an action without image object)

-Several tabs (using TabActions and actionBar.showTabsFirstOnBar set to false)

-More actions (having more than 3 actions-> overflow menu)
    -MultiSelectAction (qnx.fuse.ui.core.MultiSelectAction without default icon)

    -DeleteAction (qnx.fuse.ui.core.DeleteAction without default icon)

    did you find more?

    OK, found them.

  • Icons for a universal BB10 + PB app?

    Hello

I am creating a 'universal' application works on devices BB10 and the PlayBook. I tested it on both devices and everything works perfectly - except the icon.

I use the PlayBook SDK and the icon of 86 x 86 for the PlayBook. So, my icon seems too small on the screen BB10. It should be 114 x 114.

How can I include the two icons (86 x 86 and 114 x 114) in my sidebar file and show the correct icon depending on whether the user load my app on a PlayBook or BB10 device. I tell myself that there must be a way. I tried just putting two icons in the list of files that get packed into a bar file, but it didn't work. Thanks in advance!

    Damian

I'd do it in two steps. Each file becomes specified to the correct version of device and operating system min. When you specify the right device and OS for the file BAR min, then this device will only get BAR file.

Purchases are related to the application and the user BBID. They'll pay only once. You will need to create a new product in the portal provider (with a different application id), in order to make them pay twice.

  • Standard icons in BB10

Some of the sample apps and various BB10 screenshots seem to make all white standard icons for things like:

    -Share

    -Edit

    -Remove

    -Add

    -etc.

These icons are used it tabs, action items, menus, etc.

Is there a place where these are documented and made available, and we have allowed / expects to use these same icons in our applications?

Currently, there is no way to access a set of default icons. For (a little) more information, you might want to look at this thread: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Cascades-Development/Couple-of-questions-coming-from-pure-QML...

  • Icon on bb10

    Hello

When I run the application on the device of the icon is not displayed (the default value is shown)

    Here is the file descriptor

    BlackBerry-tablets-sdk - 3.0.0

    None
    fake
    Portrait
    fake

    Core.Media
    Icon.PNG

    access_internet

Icon.PNG is in the two src folder as well as in the root of the project.

    Use: FDT, Flex SDK, 4.6, blackberry-tablets-sdk - 3.0.0

    Any idea?

Copy your bar to file a new name with a .zip extension and unzip it.  In the extracted folder, you should see two folders: 'air' and 'META-INF.  Look in the folder the air and all of the subfolders for your icon file.  The path on the yor toolbar - descriptor.xml for your component must match the relative path from the top of your air file.  You can have a few set somewhere packaging options that put your icon down into a subfolder of the air file.  The simplest solution is just to edit bar - descriptor.xml to give the relative path from the top of air to your actual icon.

  • Icon of the Red Star (sparkle) of unexpected notification (native BB10)

I have a headless application that uses the classes NotificationMode, NotificationGlobalSettings and NotificationPolicy.

Not so long ago I was using the Notification class to publish notifications of hub. It was a temporary solution, for logging / debugging only, and it has been deleted completely, when there was no more need in there.

The question is, when I recharge my camera (Z10, 10.2.1), red sparke notification appears on my icon of the application, but there is no sign of all the messages involved in the hub. As the part of the user interface is not yet launched, I guess that something is wrong with the game without head. This issue takes place only upon reboot. When I install set bar or run the application in debug mode, everything is fine.

I can't even imagine, what could cause this. Notification icon is right there without any particular reason.

There may be a known issue/bug? Some cached, parameters, or errors in application, who could publish this red spark?

    Thanks in advance!

    Solved myself.
Posted the notification of hub, deleted manually, then rebooted the device and called deleteAllFromHub and clearEffectsForAll. Deletion of unnecessary imported classes and functions, again rebooted the device and sparkle red had disappeared.

    • Tabs do not appear in the peripheral action of 720 x 720 bar

    Hey Jon,

Here are the answers to your questions below, or in some cases as to why explanations sometimes. John, with an 'h', has responded and is correct on some of them, but thought I would confirm them as well.

    With actions A1... A12:

"Back" button is always reserved, even if there is no back button

[JD] - it is correct based on the directives of UX

Only 3 actions are displayed, even if there is room for a 4th
[JD] - ActionBar won't show up to 3 shares.

Order of measures on ActionBar is incorrect: A4 A1 A2
[JD] - need to double check the rules on this one.

Menu of overflow of action appears in the "extended" form, and not with some icons like waterfalls/Webworks
[JD] - menu overflow of Action appears always expanded. I think you are confused with the context Menu, which looks like, but has different behavior.
You can see that it is the same thing as waterfalls if you add a contact, then select this contact. 3 points in the actionbar button shows the overflow from the action.
If you long press the contact in the list, you will see the context menu, which is different.

Menu of overflow of action is never displayed on the desktop AIR
[JD] - in this case is because we have no way of knowing how deep should show the menu to. So we use NativeWindows to display the menu at the top of your application window. Because NativeWindows is not supported on any other mobile AIR platform in addition to BlackBerry, Flash Builder will not be displayed on the desktop. FDT allows you to show on the desktop if you add the following to your app descriptor, extendedDesktop mobileDevice extendedMobileDevice.

Action tags do not appear in the peripheral action of 720 x 720 bar
[JD] - what is expected. This is the same behavior when you use the ActionBar in landscape on the device of 768 x 1280 as well. It's making the content more room.

    Tabbed T1... T12:

When the tab overflow is displayed again, the before selected tabs have blue border
[JD] - corrected in the final version of the sdk.

The tab in ActionBar buttons are grayed out sometimes out (but still selectable)
[JD] - in this example, it looks like a bug, but it is in fact correct. When the tab overflow menu is fully developed, actions are disabled. In most cases they are not visible because the action bar hosted on the right. Here things look like it is in a weird State, but if implemented properly things work as expected.

If actionBar.tabOverflowParent is defined, menu overflow is never hidden on the selection of the item or by tapping elsewhere
[JD] - it is because it is expected that you cover the tabOverflowParent with your content. This property is here so that you can control the depth of the menu. Based on the UX guidelines menu should be under your content and the content comes alive to the right to reveal.

If actionBar.tabOverflowParent is not set, the tab overflow is not displayed on the desktop AIR
[JD] - we use NativeWindow in this case. Same as above.

Menu of infinity tab is badly calibrated, making it the last tab inaccessible if overflow is behind actionbar and there are several tabs will fit on the screen
[JD] - when the overflow tab menu is visible the actionbar should animate the road indicating the correct size of the menu tab overflow.

Tabs do not appear in the peripheral action of 720 x 720 bar
    [JD] - same as Actions

Here is a sample of update based on your which helps to show how you really want to set up.

  • Why are there two icons all at once in my URL (Google manage requests and queries to manage Facebook) that I can't control?

    Hey Mozilla. ~

In the area of ADDRESS of Firefox, there are two icons on the right, just to the left of the arrow in the drop-down arrow and refresh. They seem to be to Google and Facebook, both with ToolTips who say, 'see and manage applications. The drop down menu allows me to manage their link friend requests, but "Go to Menu" and "Remove from toolbar" grey outside and no action.

Q1 - How are they there?
Q2 - How can I prevent them being placed automatically in the future of these abusers of privacy?
Q3 - what they are in the URL field?
Q4 - if the menu context menu has disabled the option "Remove from Toolbar", how can I remove them?

FWIW, I have accounts at Google and Facebook but trust neither and if them were blocked by all possible means to look at me, sending me notifications, do something 'for' me, etc.. My Add - ons may be visible in my account, but in general they are related to the Organization: "Group Tabs", "Bookmarks" or my custom work process: 'Send to Kindle', 'HTTPS Everywhere' and 'disconnect intimacy. " I hope this helps.

In a world of sharks and blood-suckers online, I hope that Mozilla to help me to be safe. Thank you for helping me to understand what Google and Facebook, go to my URL field.

I have prepared a jpg to show what it looks like, but there is no function of image upload on this screen... and I can't seem to drag-and - drop the file in this form field. Please notify.

Oops, our cross messages and I couldn't see the screen shot. Yes, these are the icons of the two extensions:

  • 9.0.1 has some really annoying additions: icons on the bookmarks bar - someone has found a workaround? Also move the icon of the House on the right side and scatter all the other icons like charge - any fixes?

without additional details - explicit... very icons on the toolbar using too much space. dispersion of action tools is beyond annoying.

Firefox 4 and later versions use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is placed at the right end of the address bar.

    • During the process of loading page it shows as a stop button and once the charging button is replaced by a reload button.
    • If you type in the address bar this button would then become a button go.
    • Click or hold down the CTRL key and click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab in a new tab.
  • Bad icons in Windows XP

Whenever a folder or icon file is type refers to an icon (Group) resource that contains 24 x 24 icon image, either the wrong icon or the default windows icon.

For example, the icon of HTM/HTML files is 'C:\Program may Explorer\IEXPLORE. EXE,-17', which refers to the the document icon IE (the little ' e' icon of IE on a field of document) rather than the default IE icon (the icon of the big 'e').

Here is another example, the folder "My Stationery' in 'My Documents' (with Windows Live Mail installed) shows a default icon instead of the stationery located in maillang.dll icon.   (I bypassed this problem by customizing the folder.

I believe that this is caused by incorrect handling of Windows XP resources icon containing a 24 x 24 icon image.   (This is not a new problem, as previous versions of Windows, like Windows 98 SE, had the same problem.)

I noticed that most of the developers creating software for Windows XP follow the guidelines from Microsoft and do not create an image format 24 x 24 in the icon resource, but it is not universal.

Is there a fix or a workaround for this problem?

(I'm under Windows XP SP3 with all updates installed).

    Thank you.

Sorry, no, the article has not set the problem.   The problem had nothing to do with the icon cache.   This is a bug with Windows and Microsoft Office.

The problem is the recommended use of the:
    (file type) \ShellEx\IconHandler\ {42042206-2D85-11D3-8CFF-005004838597}
(who settled as part of Microsoft Office, when I look to the top of the IconHandler through its CLSID), where (file type) is the type of file in the registry (htmlfile, FireFoxHTML).

The solution is to remove the icon Manager shell extension in the registry for htmlfile (for IE), mhtmlfile (for IE) and FireFoxHTML (for Mozilla Firefox); Updates icon normally when the icon Manager is deleted.

(P.S. The problem of format of image 24 x 24 is not present in Windows XP, but there is a problem with an earlier version of Windows...)
