Gurus: Please help me choose my new HD camera

Estimated video gurus:

Currently, I am a user of Adobe Premiere Pro to intermediate level. As my video editing projects grow more complex and develop my skills, my video camera SD 8 years is simply not acceptable anymore.

I would like to upgrade to my first HD video camera. Can anyone suggest a camera based on my needs?

* I need professional 'starter' HD video camera (< = $ 800 million)

* I prefer additional features I might need as the most competent in Adobe Creative Suite applications.

* I've been a professional photographer (when they used the film) so I'd rather have a hand control to focus, exposure, use the measurement spot and other parameters which are adjustable, rather than by car.

* I shoot mainly inside the studio "green screen" videos subjects using a tripod and lighting. However, I also want a camera that I can take with me anywhere, which would quickly be stat for the PPE of the videos of the moment in public.

* I wouldn't want enough storage to film 2-4 hours of HD.

* I know that I would have a long battery life.

* An Image Stabilizer is important to me.

* I would like to be able to burn blue ray in the future.

* new I can afford a camera (< = $ 800 million)

Thanks for your time. All advice is appreciated.

Respectfully

Bryan Edmondson

You ask a lot for $800.

As you were a photographer and could still have lenses autour, you might look into the Panasonic GH2.  New, they went for about $600 to $700 for the body.  But there is a new model that now runs about $1,200 for the body, so you will need to look into a used one if you do not want the rising prices.

The genius of the GH2 is that some Russian figured out how to hack the firmware and adjust things inside the camera.  As a result, and with the good hack, I would say that the GH2 can produce an image equal and often superior to any other device costs less than $5,000.  (And even for devices costing more, it can sometimes take its place.)

So, with the GH2, you have 'Professional' category.  (The following film was shot with the GH2.  ( http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Upstream_Color/70265224)  You have your manual controls, small enough to take anywhere, available on many lenses, OIS and produces an excellent Blu - ray image.

The down sides are that the improved picture quality certainly devours storage space.  With what I consider the best current patch, you look at maybe two hours of recording on a map of 128 GB.  However, there are many patches available and a number will allow you to reach the desired 4 hours length with image quality still greatly improved over the original.  The other drawback is the battery life.  You will need more than one for a full day.  You could get 2 to 3 hours on a battery, so travel with several.

In your price range, I think this is probably your best option.  You won't get a better image at this price.  Although you might be able to beat him for a little more when the $1,000 Blackmagic Pocket film camera was released in July, although he will have his own issues that may not work for you.  (You will be hard pressed to get one hour of recording on a map of 128 GB at better quality).

    Thank you, Dmitry.

I don't think that TO_CHAR can do by itself.  You should maybe call TO_CHAR and then manipulate the output a bit.

Looks like TO_CHAR with 1 single argument does exactly what you want except when it returns a string starting with a decimal point, in which case you want to concatenate a '0'.  So call TO_CHAR with 1 argument, see if returns the string begins with a decimal point and, if so, put a '0' on it, like this:

    WITH got_str AS

    (

    SELECT n

    TO_CHAR (n) AS str

    FROM the data

    )

    SELECT n

    CASE

    WHAT LIKES str '. %'

    THEN "0". Str

    Of ANOTHER str

    END AS str0

    OF got_str

    ;

    Output:

    STR0 N

    ---------- -----------------------------------------

    0,123.123

    12345678-12345678

    12345678.1 12345678.1234

    12345678.1 12345678.123

    12.0000001 12.00000008

What do you want for greater than-1 negative numbers?  You may need to make the CASE a little more complicated expression, like this:

    WITH got_str AS

    (

    SELECT n

    TO_CHAR (n) AS str

    FROM the data

    )

    SELECT n

    CASE

    WHAT LIKES str '. %'

    THEN "0". Str

WHEN the str LIKE '. %'

    THEN '-0 "|" SUBSTR (str, 2)

    Of ANOTHER str

    END AS str0

    OF got_str

  • Please help me choose a host operating system.

I know that it's almost a religion, what people choose as their host for vmware workstation operating system.  So, I'll give you as many details as possible about my situation and maybe this well informed community can help me choose a good generation.

    So here's my situation.

I want to be able to run esxi cluster on a laptop computer at r2 within vmware workstation, and then to the breast of this windows cluster 08, linux (various distributions server and desktop), windows 7, windows xp,.   I know it's a little aggressive, so I install the equipment as follows:

    2760qm (quad core 2.4 ghz)

16 GB of ram (to start I'm going up to 32 shortly)

    120 GB ssd drive

    1 gb ethernet.

Everything on a thinkpad mobile w520.

    So up to the requirements.

I want a host with overhead operating system resources and footprint of small disk, stability and good performance.   I am very familiar with windows of all flavors.  I am a novice on linux and a total noob to BSD.  I'm comfortable from any platform that I'm a fast learner.

My number one preference would be stability.  Number two would be performance.  Number 3 is marked by record low (because of small ssd), number 4 ease of use...   So there you have it.  I read all the research that I met and they all seem to be pre2010 and vary enormously in the opinions.  So I ask this question even in a more modern than laptops Kingdom now take some very nice hardware configurations.

If you have the choice between XP 64 and Windows 7 - choose XP 64. It will be surpassed Windows 7 with any effort.
    Even better 2003 64.
In my experience the worst choice is Win 2008 R2 - he has the most problems.

Reminder: here at home I run win 7-64, 2008 R2 and 32 2003 Enterprise in dualboot on a variety of 8 GB of RAM
I compare the performance directly since version 6.5
The 2003 EE overcomes the other 2 when it comes to VMware performance significantly

  • I NEED HELP TO CHOOSE A NEW LAPTOP!

I recently bought a HP laptop, and in the first month, it was returned three times for problems and different issues.  After countless hours talking with the staff of the it Department got the opportunity to get a new laptop.  The only problem is that they do not have the same laptop I purchased available.  Mine has the following: AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core processor TK-57 and 512 (1.9 GHz), 250 GB HDD, Super Multi 8 x dvd = r/rw Double layer, 4096 MB DDR2 SDRAM, Vista premium (64-bit) and everything else he HP come with.  It's a dv2941se.  HP wants to give me dv4t with: (32-bit), 2.0 GHz processor, 3 GB memory, 320 GB 9200 graphics card hard drive, same primary super multi 8 x, HP HDTV hybrid Tuner, a high capacity cell 6, and then all the rest of the normal devices for the computer.  I need to know if it's a good thing and a fair trade.  I don't know what to do!  I don't like that they me downing to a 3 GB and do not allow me to get even a special edition.  Help, please!  I HAVE UNTIL MONDAY MORNING TO MAKE A DECISION.

The T6400 is a processor Core 2 Duo is a 64-bit processor, which is an improvement of AMD. We have a guy who post here a little which I believe can work for AMD and he can jump in and challenge me, but the Intel Core 2 Duo processor is faster at the same clock speed, cooler, quieter and has longer than AMD. 3 concerts vs 4 is not really a big deal except that now you mix a stick of 1 gig and 2 gig stick and you will lose support for memory dual channel and Vista 32-bit vs 64-bit Vista will be actually more compatible software and devices, but is a little slower than 64-bit. I think overall you did a side passage or improving slightly, however, simply by the fact you get a current generation machine. The new laptops HP dv5, dv5 dv7 series beyond the problems that plagued the series dvxxxx. And most of the problems in this series were the AMD models. You may not use 4 GB of RAM, unless you get the 64 bit version of Vista, in any case, but it is better to have 2 identical, memory sticks so that it works in dual channel so 4 gigs is better even with a 32-bit of Windows that uses only 3. Do they not have to offfer you with 4 GB of RAM? If this isn't the case, you could update these days for like $25.

  • Please help, failed to install new graphics card

    I have an Aurora R3.

His current graphics card is AMD 6870. R3 of Aurora standard motherboard, PCI 2.0.

Buy AMD R9 390 (recommended 750w). Did not work. Noticed that I had a 525 power so I bought feeding 875 w. It still does not work.

I know that the new card is PCI 3.0, but it is backward compatible, so that can't be the issue. It may not be the power supply as I just traded it a new (standard 875 w W299G, didn't need to replace the harness, new works of supply of power with my old card as well)

When I say does not work I mean that: the map lights. Spin Fans, but nothing appears on the screen.

I uninstalled all the drivers completely and reinstalled etc... I tried every display port. No matter what I can not do anything to display on the screen.

Help, please. I'm ready to get down to the Nvidia GTX 970 if that will solve the problem.

In addition, please let me know if there is no system information I neglected to mention that would help solve the problem.

It should work if you have 875 w power supply, and there good-PIN-cards of power in native mode.

Since it is Aurora-R3 you better get one with a Dual-BIOS switch that supports legacy and UEFI hybrid.

Aurora R3 is perhaps than just EFI (not true uEFI) so he cannot decide that he needs. Save yourself a lot of trouble and get one with a switch on the video card.

Apparently, some recent MSI & Sapphire cards have the switch.

You might have to no-snap and remove plastic card aerial of Aurora video guide if new card out in cases.

I also have it in my notes that someone wrote:

I just wanted to say that the 380 R9 works. But you have to buy a graphics card of the hybrid BIOS as "Sapphire R9 380 Nitro". Sapphire cards are able to pass the legacy BIOS to UEFI BIOS boot. There is a small 'switch' in the corner of the map, which you can use. It works very well without any problems.

    Hello

Recently I get this message as the computer freezes momentarily and then recovers.

"Display driver AMD driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I checked the support for Dell drivers and received conflicting results.

When I checked with the help of system analysis, it gave me a list of the 54 system-wide updates. How could it be possible?

ADMIN NOTE: maintain the label removed by privacy policy >

Don't you think that's what I use, and if yes, can you tell me who I should first put to date? Finally, what I have to uninstall the old drivers and update via the Device Manager?

Thanks in advance for your help,

54 updates is not necessary. You should only update a driver to correct a specific problem. You don't need to remove the video card driver before installing a newer version.

  • Please HELP me choose the perfect dv7t Quad Specs

am to customize a HP Pavilion dv7t quad edition laptop.

I have a few choices to make. Money is not really a problem, but I really don't want to spend an additional $ 150, if the price difference is quite minimal. I would really see again you my current selections and determine whether or not I should make to level or downgrade, as appropriate. In addition, I would appreciate it really answering you any questions found throughout my post. Thank you very much.

    I want my laptop to:

    (1) run RuneScape without lag (with the exception of lag of the game itself)
    (2) load extremely fast programs and Web pages and maintain performance when the computer age.
    (3) I don't want my laptop overheating. My current 2009 dv7t becomes so hot whenever I use it I can't let him touch my skin, or it hurt a lot.
    (4) have a nice graphics screen
    (5) be physically attractive. My balance is: Samsung Series 9 is considered to be beautiful, the Alienware is considered hideous

With these requirements in mind, please tell me whether or not you think my cell proposed is a good choice. Also, feel free to talk to me about any other laptops that you think could work well for me. (PS: the Samsung 9 series would be able to manage Runescape? (Thank you!)

    (3) graphics card
2GB (TM) Radeon HD 6770M GDDR5 Graphics [HDMI, VGA]

Graphics memory is not so important, but the model number is. I prefer NVIDIA on AMD as it runs more fees and the drivers are updated more frequently. Most of the HP machines use custom video drivers and they cannot be updated directly from a view of the factory. HP has done a terrible job of updating their custom drivers.

A step down: 1 GB Radeon (TM) HD 6770 M GDDR5 Graphics [HDMI, VGA] ($-50,00)
Two not down: 1 GB GDDR5 Radeon (TM) HD 6490 M Graphics [HDMI, VGA] (-* 75.00)

Stick with 6770 and 1 GB of memory is good, but for only $ 50, you may as well go with the 2 GB memory.

What is the importance of the memory of a graphics card?

Not so, 1 GB is plenty for most, more serious laptops will come with more. Like I said, more the model number the better. With a laptop video card game is extensible, look for this. You cannot upgrade the video card in any HP laptop, they are soldered directly to the motherboard. Remember, however, that 99.9% of computers laptops, video cards cannot be upgraded. Too expensive.

    (4) memory
    8 GB memory (2 DIMMs) DDR3 system

8 GB is a lot, nothing more is a waste of money.

    (5) drive
1 TB 5400 RPM Hard Drive with Protection for hard drive HP ProtectSmart

A step down: 750 GB 7200 RPM hard drive HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive protection ($-80,00)

Get one with a Solid State drive and the new SATA 3 interface, make sure that the laptop can make use of the SATA 3. Ask the manufacture, but not HP, they will tell you only what you want here or they don't know. If they can't answer that question, the machine can not support SATA 3. Forget the disks of standard rotation on a portable game. They get too hot and are already obsolete.

    (6) main battery
    Battery 9 Cell Lithium-Ion

    A notch: a 6 cell and a battery 9 Cell Lithium ion ($+ 30.00)
    Two steps to the top: two 9-Cell Lithium-Ion (+ $ 60.00)

When it becomes oversized? a larger battery makes the portable warmer?

You'll be lucky if you get one hour where the game on a battery with a battery. Look for one with a system of LED backlight for more autonomy. Backlight CCFL is a thing of the past.

    (7) display
    17.3 "full HD BrightView Infinity LED (1920 x 1080)

    A step down: "17,3 HD + LED HP BrightView (1600 x 900) ($-150,00)

    Is there a difference?

    Defiantly the 1920 x 1080

    (8) primary optical drive
Drive Blu - ray & DVD SuperMulti burner

If you like to watch Blu - ray movies, then go for it. However the software and Blu - ray player can be "buggy" sometimes. May be necessary if the newest games are on Blu - ray.

    (9) customization
HP TrueVision webcam high definition with built-in digital Microphone and HP SimplePass fingerprint reader

It's yours if you want one of these things.

    (10) networking
Bluetooth (r) and Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN

    What is bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a short-range radio that connects to Bluetooth devices such as mobile phones of mouse, headphones, etc.. I like my Bluetooth wireless mouse.

Not an HP laptop for games, they are not designed for this, pure and simple. The games here section is filled with guys and their machines to overheat.

Not good for games, much too thin to keep in the fridge for a good air circulation and no i7 processor. Unfortunately, most laptops are thick, black and heavy. But you won't have you cake and eat it too. My link also has a pathetic Intel graphics card.

  • Please help me choose a product!

I'll teach you online courses (on disorders of hearing, A & P,... hearing tests) I want to be able to draw (on paper) medical quality illustrations, scan into the computer, and then add some add to the black and white drawings, label the pieces with text and caricature myself and add on illustrations and eventually to life on the road. I love the curvature of the puppet that I saw on the product of cc! Also the way that you can select and area and do it properly select hair from the bottom! WOW! I REALLY want these features! The problem is that I am a complete novice! I downloaded the demo and lost hours (nothing wrong to be honest a few days) to try to understand how to do the simplest tasks and watch the tutorials.  I have LOTS of illustrations to make and three classes to build from scratch. I wonder if I'm biting more than I can chew? Anyone with experience, please can you offer any advice regarding if I should continue to work to learn Photoshop cc or I'm too new, and with the little time I elements would be all I can manage and if so, it will be able to do the things I NEED it to do (vs. want to do such as the wrap of the puppet)? Thank you very much!

Even the full PS will not be able to deliver what you want, not dream even to do in elements. That's what dedicated animation / motion graphics programs like After Effects are for. Chronology of the PS is limited for some of the things way more fancy. Finally you will need a combination of several programs, because that's just how it's done. Knowledge create cutouts in PS, animate in AE. In fact you may be chewing larger you can chew if you have not yet reached a point where you can confidently cut one of your designs and create a simple animation of him. If you are really on a tight, I'm afraid that the only real answer can be "hire a pro! These things take time to learn and trying to do so just based on immediate need will never work as you wish.

  • Please help - trying to submit new fact sheets

We have therefore created for iPhone and iPad folios. These are new issues of type magazine for an existing application. We have all new illustrations app for the app as well. Fact sheets are "published" in the producer of folio online DPS. Now, what should I do to publish in the store? Just use the application office dps Builder? If so, how, I associate these folios app?

I also have problems signing in Xcode to make the mobile files provisions - wouldn't that be with the same login I use for iTunes connect? It is not letting me login for some reason any.

    DRM for any help!

If the sheets are completely free to do is publish as public/free and they will appear in the application automatically. If they are folios you sell then you will need to publish as public-detail and make sure that you have approved entries in-app iTunes for them on the side of Apple purchase. Make sure you have the folios in the same account that you selected when you build your application in the App Builder.

There is no need either to resubmit your application.

If you try to change your app work then you will need to rebuild the application in the App Builder with the new work and send it back to Apple.

You can generate files of mobile provision since the iTunes developers portal. There is no need to use xcode. If you have problems to connect in the Developer Portal, then you talk to Apple.

  • I need help to choose a new router

I need some advice. I need to get a new router that will last. I got a Belkin Surf and the reason why I got rid of him I thought I need a signal more stronger than I get me a new computer and add 2 webradios. SO I bought the D - Link DIR 655. WELL, that lasted 2 months. It is now to be replaced. Had yet. But because of their horrible and rotten attitude then called customer service. I am looking for another router. Here's a list of what I have and what it takes to be connected. The room has the router service is 27 ft X 32 ft.

Main computer is a Dell 8300 4 months with Windows 7 installed

Second computer is a computer with Windows XP Pro. It is about 5 years old but works very well.

2 Internet radio, a Logitech Squeezebox and a Squeezebox Boom

NetFlex receiver that streams movies on my TV

I have a fax device connected to the computer Dell, printer and copier

By looking at the distance of wireless devices a router base can work very well in your network, but you also have Streaming audio/video devices in the network and so would recommend E3000 with key features
