GX620 XPpro DVD/CD drive missing

Hello people, I'm puzzled.

GX620 XP pro

recently installed nero 8 trial then the system has crashed a few times everything by using it to burn a data DVD. I removed Nero and the drive is now missing.

Does not appear in the BIOS, not in the Device Manager, not in my computer.

Have you tried microsoft knowledge base attempt to correct via the removal of the upper and lower entrances register (not sure what the technical reference number at this point) it did not work. This link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/en-us

Have tried all sorts of diagnostics, no luck

Tried to delete the entries for the IDE controllers in Device Manager, rebooted, XP found the primary and secondary and installed IDE controllers and jut like quickley the second IDE controller - DISAPPEARED.

I used Nero removal tools and removed apparently it... but the reader is always finished.

Here's the weird thing, I grabbed another disc from a similar PC, thinking Ok, the drive must be bad (although I figured that, but willing to try anything!), and it did not work. Swapped cables too, think okay, maybe the cable is bad. No luck. "But the drive in the other system after swapping (remember, the other system was fine) and now the drive does not work in the other 'good' system '. Coincidence? Virus? How a virus could write the EPROM of the dvd player?

Okay, back to my system to try to understand the original problem. Thinking I'll deal with the other later. (hoping, wishing)

I have re-installed windows XP pro. and again, no luck. The only thing I think I've let it go is a low-level format and reformatting of the MBR. But it seems that using a chainsaw for something a butterknife should do.

Can anyone help?

  • Cannot install windows 7-error: dvd/cd driver missing

Try to install Windows 7 on a different SSD, but get an error indicating that the missing required cd/dvd driver.  How Windows load into memory from a cd/dvd that windows 7 says there is no driver missing?  This is the same installation disc that I used on a previous SSD without problem.  I have 2 other unused installation floppies, and each returns the error message.  This problem arose when an attempt to use System Restore Image I had done just on an external SSD and a drive hard usb.  The error I had to try to use one of them was that the Image was made in EFI and the computer seeks to restore in BIOS. It's the same machine.  Yes, disk management displays the UEFI 100 MB system partition.  The motherboard is an Asus F2A85 - V Pro.  List Disk running installation diisk sees only the cd/dvd and the drive hard usb but not the SATA drives.  When you normally use that List Disk sees everything.  The UEFI bios sees all readers, when you use the system installation disk.  I used a system repair disc made from the same computer at the same time as the picture of the system and used to start and got a system repair options is not compatible with this version of windows.  The windows version is 6.1.7601 sp 1 build 7601.  Any ideas?

    Hello

    Thank you for your response.

There are two modes of starting particularly machine-> BIOS & EFI. BIOS is the general start mechanism found in most machines. Some of the machines also support EFI boot mechanism with BIOS

Either the BIOS or EFI is set as the default in your machine - Please check start the installation system which

    one is active by default.

If the EFI operating system is installed, it will create an EFI system partition in your machine. Installation of BIOS has no EFI partition.

Warning in the BIOS: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • HP Zbook Studio G3: error cd/dvd device driver missing

    Hello guys,.

When I try to install windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit on Zbook Studio G3, I get the lack cd/dvd device driver. I tried all the possible drivers, but no luck

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

    concerning

Generally, it is an indication that the you use the Windows 7 installation media that is inserted in a USB3.0 port. Windows 7 is not supported with native support for USB3.0 and requires the installed USB 2.0 port or a USB3.0 port emulation USB 2.0. In addition, there may be issues when you try to install Windows 7 on an Intel SkyLake chipset.

The first step would be to go through the BIOS and see if there is an option for the compatible mode or emulation for USB ports.

Alternatively, you can contact HP to see if they have material recovery/restore for Windows 7 to your computer.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • HD DVD - ROM driver is missing or corrupt on Satellite A200-s 23

Hi, recently I bought my Toshiba Satellite A200-23 s and now it says that the HD DVD-ROM driver is missing or currupted. The system can not see DVD - ROM. My laptop is still under warranty, but perhaps I can fix it somehow? I found the list of drivers on this site but you've not seen DVD - ROM drivers.
    Thank you

Don t think that it s a hardware problem.
I think that it s a registry problem.

Access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Reboot the laptop.

This error occurs if the driver is corrupted or missing.

  • CD/DVD drivers are missing and my system is not able to detect the dvd drive.

Hi, after installing some updates my dvd/cd drive is not detected by the system and the option is not in my computer menu, so I checked in the Device Manager. and my cd/dvd drivers are completely absent and not present in the Device Manager. I m using vista Home premium, help someone
    Thank you

    Hello

1st reboot and watch again in Device Manager:

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    Hope these helps.

You could try to copy the contents of the DVD to a folder on your hard drive. Then start the installation from there.

(I've seen a post or two during the upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit of Vista 32 bit). Could just be a funky DVDROM drive problem. Copy of the files should ignore the issue.

  • pilot missing dvd/CD; drive even not recognized by the computer

somehow, when I tried to burn a dvd, (windows DVD Creator) the computer seems to have removed its own driver for the dvd drive (I put the disc in, it recognized that it was not a disk supported, put a new one in the drive, and create dvd windows then told me that I need to install a dvd/cd writer to complete my project). the relase button disk would not work after turning in the second disc and always used to work even after that. If I use a pin code manually to open and put a disk in the light lights up recocnizing there is something in there, but that nothing, not even spin the disc. No cd, dvd or all other discs work. Ive tried a few different driver Fixer programs, even those you pay (mender driver, driver detective - no even to recognize the missing driver) and can't seem to find a solution. cd/DVD device does not even appear in "device system' list or lists of material which must show all devices, programs or drivers... also do not show my E: / in my computer, what would be my dvd/cd drive." I tried the "regedit" and could not find the 'filter filter up/down' you are supposed to remove to fix. " filter of upper/lower case is not listed in the options.

    Hello

For the CD/DVD problem start up that convenience store and work down to jump
nothing. He is even said to continue if the CD/DVD drive is not displayed in Device Manager.
You are much less likely to solve the problem by a hit or miss approach to try this
or such. And of course, there may be a material cause.

The HP forums, ask questions and I hope that those who have had
the same issues on similar equipment that have solved the issue respond. Only way
to succeed is to give your best effort.

HP does not have a lot of online documentation and help diagnostics on their site and those
could help to resolve some of the questions withour paying for support.

Back up your data on the device and it goes back out of the box state
can be one of the best moves to solve the present problems.

    I hope this helps.

  • Impossible to re - install Windows Vista. "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing." appears

I have the same problem as a previous applicant.  My hard drive went down and I had to replace it with a new one.  Windows Vista is the operating system installed on my HP Pavilion and I try to use reinstall drive.

The message says "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing.  If you have a driver disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. »

I don't have a floppy drive on this machine, so I'll have to do the installation from a USB key.

I tried so that it points to the Installation DVD, but it was still impossible to find the required driver.
