H P and Dymo labelwriter printer are not recognized

I'm using Windows 7 Home Edition.  My computer is an Intel I7 processor, 12 GB of Ram, hard disk of 1 to build custom.
I have a printer HP 6988 and a turbo labelwriter Dymo 400.  Everything worked well and I had used both earlier.
Then I went to use the label writer and a message to a writer of the label must be installed and make sure it is connected.
Well it is connected, I disconnected and then reconnected and I hear the tone of the USB.  The problem of the printer is essentially the same.  I've had this problem once before, but can't remember what I did to remedy.  I tried to reboot several times.  I don't have the system restore option that I have no restore points.  Don't forget to set up this feature before.

Thanks for your reply.  I did an anti-malware scan and it found 27 bad entries.  I removed those and everything works fine now.  I have AVG anti-virus, it found 5 horses Trogan, but I found the fix before that.  Thank you.
